Farmstay vacation rentals in Namib Desert

Great value for money. Will definately stay there when I need acommodation in Kimberley again.

If you are looking to disconnect with real life and connect with nature then this is the place to go! We had a lovely stay at River Lodge at Karoo Ridge Conservancy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and considerate with providing a camping cot and feeding chair for our baby and a net over the pool. Everything you need is there. We also did some of the hikes from the River Lodge and went for a great game drive with sundowners. Our dogs enjoyed the space as well. With no cell reception and WIFI at the lodge (only available at the reception shop), this is exactly what we need d for our breakaway. We will definitely visit again.

An Incredibly quiet place where jy work can escape and enjoy quality. That trampoline, wood house and hot tub was ideal for relaxing. That large plaash house offers enough spasie and is that perfect place to get away from that city. This is also a fantastic place to cycle with young children's bike and enjoy that quiet plaasom system. Our sal decides here again come escape!

It's difficult to overstate how incredible this place is. The Rest Farm is an incredible oasis in the Karoo, and Shepherd's Cottage is a beautiful old farmhouse, comfortable, private, and peaceful with all the amenities - it would be easy to stay here a week or even a month. The sunsets, the walks, the birds, the river nearby. Paula and Ian's hospitality was second to none - their house is right nearby and they provided milk and bread from their farm, tea, and wonderful conversation. And a dip in the water reservoir behind their house. This place is an absolute treasure and we're hoping to come back as soon as we can.

Communication from our side wasn‘t easy due to lack of mobile reception on the roads. We arrived at night time under bad road conditions, afraid about causing inconvenience. Carina and Danny helped us staying relaxed, offering help in case we got stuck/ lost on the way. We want to express our appreciation for the attention given to our specific dietary preferences. We enjoyed every minute on the farm, especially these where Carina and Danny had the time to join us. We had great conversations in which we learned a lot about the country, the people and the life in Namibia. They also gave great advice on how to make the best out of our stay. We felt very welcome and wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back! Thank you so much.

The stay at the Corbelled house was nothing short of magnificent. The photos don’t do it justice! The expansive environment and attention to detail in the home is amazing. A beautiful time warp. And Charlene - who runs the farm and cares for the guests is wonderful. Thank you!

A gorgeous place to stay with options to eat in with all the produce cooked straight from the Biodynamic farm. Loved our stay and highly recommend

The drive to the house already gets you excited, through towns we had never heard of, absolutely exquisite nature and then finally you get to the turn and you can just about see the house on the “hill”. Animals on your doorstep, the pool overlooking the animals, it was spectacular. The house itself was very well equipped with everything we needed. This is a place we would definitely return to, but next time not just as a stopover, we would stay. It is beyond peaceful. Talk about peaceful… you might need a few peaceful sleep bottles :D you are in the middle of nature, surrounded by nature. There were a lot of mosquitoes during the night and of course Hennie was right, do not leave any lights on… we left 1 kitchen light on, the next morning there were like a million bugs (moths) flying around that light, and it is not an exaggeration :D Again, this is part of the charm, it is part of nature and I wish we could stay a bit longer, but next time! Thanks Hennie :)

A beautiful oasis in the middle of the bush. Watering hole provided lots of activity from the herd of Eland to the 5 Ostrich. Even were surprised by a small herd of Blesbok behind the cottage this morning. All amenities were there - fantastic shower and bathroom and easy to use and convenient fireplace for our evening Braai. Loved the simple yet easy Nespresso and the game meat & wine left was a nice touch too. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay, host was super responsive, local help so friendly, we definitely recommend it.

Lovely farm setting for some quiet time and break away from city life. Slept like a baby, felt rejuvenated. The little extras like wood, biscuits, apples, milk etc. Was really a big surprise and made us feel even more at home.

Lovely quiet location with lots of space and a private pool. Nice to also meet the owner who invited us for a whisky!

Such a beautiful peaceful spot. Hard to describe - but it’s for something magical about the place. Super comfortable. Not fancy. But has it all. Makes you instantaneously relax and unwind. Very special

This is a fantastic location, quiet and in the midst of nature. The rooms are spacious and clean. We opted for dinner and breakfast which was delicious! Highly recommended.

This stay is excellent value for money. All amenities you can wish for is available and the host is extremely friendly. The beds are excellent quality and the rest of the property is comfortable and spacious. Cleanliness is absolutely excellent as well. We will revisit this stay again!!

This place was beyond amazing. Everything was perfect, the beauty, the location, the house itself, the surroundings. Don and Evelyn were pretty much the best airbnb hosts we ever had. So much amazingness =))

Amazing getaway location. Best host of all hosts I have met. Regularly checking in to see if there is anything she can do to make my stay better.

There were only 3 of us but the cottage caters for 6. The area is stunning, it had snowed and Hester kept me informed as to the state of the roads due to the snow. The cottage was cosy, had a wood fire and electric blankets so perfect.

We had a wonderful time at Thaba lodge. Staff was amazing, Clean well equipped lodge, Lots space and very private. The ice machine kept up with our drinking habits, Big plus that we didn’t have travel with ice or fire wood. Great value for money. Highly recommend!
