Zimmer unterm Dach eines Traditionshotels, sehr lieb! Im Hotel gab es ein tolles Restaurant, wo wir auch um 10 am Abend noch eine sehr gute isländische Suppe bekommen haben. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, an der Rezeption des Hotels. Djupivogur ist perfekt für einen Zwischenstopp im Südosten, sehr malerische Küstenlandschaft rundherum, wunderschöner schwarzer Sandstrand in der Nähe, Schwimmbad im Ort.

We got stuck in a snow storm and arrived very late but they were helpful updating us on the condition of the roads near there and giving advice. Sat in the hot tubs in the morning with light snow before anyone what was up, definitely a unique and beautiful experience.

It was clean and neat. We had a great time enjoying watching aurora. Nice location, but it would’ve been much better if the snow on the way to our cottage had been cleaned up. It was kinda difficult to carry heavy suit cases and luggage piercing through the snow. Parking was unavailable right jn front of the cottage entrance (Kaldi2). Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

We were greeted warmly. We were really impressed with all the small details that made our stay extra special. Everything was done with great care and thoughtfulness. The food was incredible and from scratch. The hand-crafted beer was excellent! They even made offered to pack lunch for our hike since the grocery store was closed. It was a wonderful experience!

The best food we have had in iceland so far was at this restaurant. extremely delicious pizza and traditional Icelandic fish stew. the room had a beautiful view and while there are shared bathrooms, we never had to wait to use them. the host was extremely lovely, ensuring we had a hot meal waiting when we arrived just before the restaurant closed, we were able to order ahead and they prepared it for us. after dinner we finished with some of the great beers and Icelandic moonshine next door at the KHB brewery where we were treated to some lovely company by the bar staff and pizza chef who told us a lot about the area and just a great vibe in general. highly recommend staying here. top notch service and lovely people.

Overall this was place easily one of our favorite stays in Iceland. For US travelers, this is more like an individual town micro or boutique hotel. The views were STUNNING. The room was comfortable and bathroom spacious. The breakfast provided was one of the only that included hot options and was truly delicious. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant as well!! If you wait until sunset (for us about 10pm) during puffin season, the point boasts about 200 puffins!! The point is only a 5 min drive!! We also enjoyed one of the beer baths and a dip in the spa. Felt this to be a unique and worthwhile experience!! The only issue we had was check-in. For some reason, maybe a glitch? Maybe my mistake - but we were listed for a double bed under one occupant. This does affect their booking, as they do charge extra for enough linens and breakfast for 2 people. They were kind enough to address the issue, but it was a little confusing for a bit. Make sure the reflects the correct # of people :)!

We were shocked by how amazing this place is. The lodge itself is gorgeous and spotless. Compared to other accommodations in Iceland of a similar price, this is incomparably better than anywhere we have been. Would highly recommend staying here.

We had a great stay here. Plenty of room for 4 people and has a separate common area for guests to cook meals.

Amazing place! The view is incredible there and on the drive there (we can from the north west). Saw some caribou on the drive up the lane. Pretty amazing! Host was incredibly nice and helped with restaurants to go to. Djupivogur is only 20 mins away. The hotel restaurant was well worth it. Would stay here again!

Laugarfell ist wirklich eine wunderschöne Unterkunft. Sie befindet sich mitten in den Highlands und ist sehr abgeschieden. Wir haben das als sehr schön empfunden, aber dadurch ist die Anfahrt natürlich etwas umständlicher und es gibt keine Supermärkte oder Ähnliches in der Nähe (falls das für jemanden wichtig sein sollte). Dafür gibt es aber zwei heiße Quellen direkt vor der Haustür und eine wunderschöne Wanderung bei der man sehr viele Wasserfälle besuchen kann. Das Personal vor Ort ist wirklich sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut!
