Vacation rentals with a fire pit in McHenry County

Absolutely loved our stay! The house was incredibly cozy and had direct river access, a relaxing sauna, a jacuzzi under the stars, and even kayaks for exploring. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. Highly recommend and would love to come back!

The home was obviously created to be an AirBnB - all amenities were obvious and easy to find and use. It is well equipped to accommodate children. The finished basement also has plenty of room for an air mattress if you need a little extra space. Two of the rooms with sleeping facilities are surrounded by windows, although there are blinds, but they are not "private." We were very comfortable on all the beds, even the sofa bed. The location is an old residential street that was leafy and green, and the lilacs were in full bloom. Quite lovely. I would definitely stay there again!

I had an incredible stay at Wanda's house! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The home was exactly as described, even better in person—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for the wedding we were attending that weekend. I especially loved how cozy and convenient it was. Wanda went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, providing flexible check in/out times, ample snacks, and an abundance of amenities to help it feel more like home. Communication was smooth and prompt, and helped with everything we needed. I highly recommend Wanda's place to anyone looking for a relaxing and cozy stay in Wonder Lake! I can’t wait to come back.

Check in was easy, and everything was as described. Julie’s place met our needs for a place to stay while visiting family. Her place is clean and well supplied. Lots of room which we didn’t use all of it. The fenced in area was nice to be able to let our dogs out.

Thankful for this home away from home for our family get together. Our stay was very short, but Alexandrea was quite helpful and flexible in meeting our needs. Always quick responses to my questions.

Great stay! Can’t say nothing negative about the place and location, overall vibe was great. The host was always responsive. House is nice and clean, packed with all the necessities and even lots of board games! We stayed here for a bridal event and it was great for our group. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and the large gathering spaces. It had everything we needed!

The home was lovely. The backyard was wonderful to be able to sit by the lake or under a netted gazebo was wonderful. The house is very spacious with a huge, dynamic bathtub/shower. An overall wonderful experience best Airbnb I’ve stayed in by far.

We stayed here for my friends bootcamp graduation and it was perfect! It was very comfortable and homey. It was quiet and peaceful so our sailor enjoyed being able to relax after we would go explore the city. I would definitely stay here again!

From her greeting you at the front door to making sure you have all that you need. Her place is perfect for a few days or even an extended stay! Located just off the highway and close to an amazing wine and restaurant - and minutes away from Beloit College! I recommend and look forward to my next stay

This was a charming place and everything we needed to relax for the afternoon and evening. As mentioned previously, the fresh ground coffee beans were a treat.

Bente is a wonderful and kind host, always responsive and great with children! The family has loved staying here, and we will definitely come back again!

Feb 26 - Mar 1 We were very grateful for David for approving our last minute reservation for the wonderful home. We flew to Chicago for my youngest brother’s Navy Graduation and what awaited us was the most pleasant experience and coziest warm home. Everything from the communication to experiencing the actual place is spot on. We would love to spend another trip to that same place when we come back for my second brother’s graduation. We highly recommend this place 10/10. Thank you again for David for hosting me and my family.

Owners were amazing and responsive. Place was beautiful and peaceful. It is above a bar but guests were friendly and respectful. Lots of amenities. Will definitely be back

The cabin was spacious, clean, and lovely. So many incredible amenities, particularly the hot tub. Lovely and quiet surroundings leading down to the river. Just awesome.

Sue(host) was so welcoming. The cabin felt so cozy and the decor is cute and functional. The atmosphere was peaceful and we had a wonderful, comfortable stay. Would love to visit again.

My group had the best time at Owl's Rest! The cabin is surrounded by beautiful woods and relaxing peace. We sat at watched birds and all kinds of animals on the deck most of the day and sat by the fire at night. The hot tube was so perfect and relaxing. One night we walked down to the bar and had a fantastic meal and fun environment. Everything about this cabin was clean and well appointed. It was so hard to leave. You can't go wrong with this cabin if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing time. Lyle is very helpful and communicative. Literally the most perfect weekend in every respect. Thank you!

Place is a bit smaller than it looks in the photos. Definitely good for one or two people. The lake was beautiful. You need to let the water run for a bit to get it clear. Host was very kind and responsive. Restaurants in the area are great!

Amazing house and tranquil location with easy access to all the area has to offer. The architectural beauty and attention to detail is incredible as well. We loved hot tub, outdoor gazebo and fire pit as well. Perfect for a getaway for all ages. We hope we can come back again soon!

We usually go camping for Memorial Day weekend, but this year we decided to switch things up — and we’re so glad we did! We found a beautiful tiny home near the waterfront with everything we needed for the perfect stay, including a spot for our boat. Our three-year-old absolutely loved spending time on the dock, and it was such a special moment watching dad and son fish together — they even caught a nice-sized catfish! The location was ideal: close to downtown Fox Lake for convenience, but tucked away on the quieter side so we could truly relax. The sunsets were stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere made it hard to leave. If we’re ever looking for a place to stay in the area again, we’d definitely come back!

Tibi was the most incredible host for our Bachelorette party in Lake Geneva! The house was beyond beautiful and exactly as Tibi had described. We reached out to Tibi a few times before our official trip and always received a response within the hour - when we told Tibi we were going to do a wine tasting one night at the cabin she shipped in new wine glasses for us to ensure we had enough! As we are local to Chicago we will be keeping Tibi's Cabin in mind for any future trips as it was the perfect distance for a quick get away from the city!
