BEST GION LOCATION, LUXURY, QUIET VACATION RENTAL

CaseyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Really lovely stay! It was very clean. Many towels, pillows, blankets were provided. It was a fairly quiet area. The air conditioning was great. Would recommend this location if you are trying to stay closer to Gion. It is further from the train station, but everything is pretty spread out in Kyoto.

Japanese traditional house excellent location.

HarryRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay. Everything was pristine, and the decor was beautiful. Everything that we wanted to see was within walking distance, and although the house was in the middle of everything it was remarkably calm. We especially enjoyed the outdoor bath, this is something I am certainly going to miss.

Kyostay Iroha Toji Annex - Economy Twin Room

LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Excellent place to stay at and very affordable for several days. It was very close to Toji temple and the closest train station was one stop away from the main Kyoto station. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. We really liked the clothes drying system the bathroom had. The only thing we weren’t a fan of was that the walls are very thin and we could hear the upstairs guest stomping around at night. Also the mattress was on the thin side. Overall, we would def stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

118 y/o traditional Japanese house in Arashiyama

MindyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was out favorite stay while we were in Japan. The hosts are amazing and super responsive and the house has everything you could possibly need. The separate washer and dryer was awesome and worked perfectly for our family. We ended up cooking breakfast in, as the kitchen is well equipped with everything you needed including coffee and sugar! It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of central Kyoto but walkable to the river, Monkey Park, temples, shops, and restaurants. If this spot is available, don't hesitate and book it!

This is a very comfortable, clean, and family friendly place to stay! Our long stay experience there was top notch! The three bedrooms easily accommodated my family of 6 adults! The beds were very comfortable! The washer and dryer is also a big plus! We also loved that it was so close to the train station, a large mall, and several grocery stores. We loved the hosts. The Nakayama family were very kind, helpful, and always quick to respond to any request! We will definitely stay there again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Couldn’t ask for a better location in Tokyo. There’s plenty of cool spots walking distance and everything else is easily accessible by bus. The futon mattress on the tatami mat floor might not be for everyone, but I literally had some of the best sleep in my lifer here!

Private use - Authentic Renovated Machiya House

NicoleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We really enjoyed our stay here! It is conveniently located near a bus station (2mins) and a subway station (15mins). The house was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Instructions were very clear and everything in the house was labeled to prevent any confusion. Something to consider if travelling with older people is the steep steps that are required to go from the sleeping area to the bathroom. The host Minnie was very friendly and quick to respond! We appreciated the recommendations and added amenities that made the stay even more comfortable. Minnie was accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage past checkout. Would love to stay here again!

Ryokan style temple! Full renovated +WiFi+Bikes

AndrewRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
The location is the upper story of a home behind the temple consisting essentially of two rooms, a corridor, kitchenette and toilet with a shower/bath downstairs. Everything is very clean and while there's no means of cooking there's a fridge, a sink, a kettle, and enough options in the immediate area that it was never an issue. Our host was very polite and kind who has reasonable house rules (don't go in the store room, don't walk off with the only house key, keep it down at night, etc.) and not only did our laundry for free but provided an amazing breakfast. The only real issue would be that it's a little far from most major transit. Not enough to be a deal breaker but pushing around luggage or walking home on a rainy night, well, a bit tedious. Still! Minor inconvenience, and the pros more than outweighed the cons. Would reccomend it, especially if you're looking for something quiet and traditional.
