Historic Tain is the ideal base for your Highland get-away. The North Coast 500 and the North Highland Way both pass the doorstep for those keen on cycling and walking. For the golfers we are a short distance to the Royal Dornoch Golf Course as well as having our own 120 year old Tom Morris designed course. The historians among you will love Tain and the surrounding areas for the Pictish Trails, and the Tain Through Time museum will tell of these and The 15th century Pilgrimages. The beautiful beaches of Dornoch, Portmahomack and the Seaboard villages are always worth a visit, you might even see a dolphin or two! The Granny Flat at St Mary's is a self contained one bedroom flat with parking in our driveway. The flat has its own entrance to the side of the building and you'll find a kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom suitable for two adults. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern appliances. As we are busy out and about every morning we can offer bread, cereals, tea and coffee for you to help yourself at your own leisure. The bathroom has a shower with a steam facility and a roll top bath to relax in. It also has a pulley so you can hang up your washing at the end of your busy day. We can provide a lockable area for your bicycles if required, please let us know if we can help or provide anything else.

Central but quiet, lovely cosy wee place. Decent parking was tricky to find maybe add it into welcome pack but she was amazing when we locked ourselves out with keys and my phone in flat!

Mit meiner Freundin verbrachte ich 2 Nächte in Ruths Unterkunft und wir waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Unterkunft ist wunderbar gelegen, um die Gegend und Stadt zu Fuss zu erkundigen. Sie war äusserst sauber, sehr gut ausgestattet und bot alles, was wir für unseren Aufenthalt brauchten; unter anderem für die Zubereitung von Mahlzeiten. Der Selbst-Check-in und Selbst-Check-out verliefen reibungslos und die Kommunikation mit Ruth war einwandfrei. Einen Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft kann ich wärmstens empfehlen!

Dawn’s place is cozy and so well located, walkable distance from the water, shops and restaurants. Although it may first appear a bit pricey, compared to every other option around this is great value!! Dawn responded really quickly despite our same-day booking, which really got us out of a pickle.

I have lived in this apartment fore three month now, and I have been really happy with everything. The apartment is nicely equipped, and everything is nice and clean. For me is has been then perfect place to relax, after long working days on projects in the local area. The host, Steven, has been a really good host. Whenever there was anything with the apartment, he got it fixed straight away. I can only give Steve and the apartment 5 stars.

Great place to stay!! House is immaculate, well furnished, comfortable and we felt right at home. Great view from the landing window! Fab location for walking into Kirkwall town centre and also central if you're planning touring about the island in the car. I will be visiting Orkney again without doubt and I would definitely stay here again. Fab!!

Situated in the heart of the picturesque port of Stromness, the Studio combines convenience for shops and restaurants with a tranquil ambiance. It provides a perfect base for exploring the stunning Orkney landscape and its amazing archaeological sites. Comfortable, very cosy and spotlessly clean, the Sudio is well equipped and we appreciated the display of local information and the well stocked bookcase, also the provision of some basic groceries for our arrival Àine was very friendly and welcoming, and available when needed. We would whole heartedly recommend this place as a perfect Orkney holiday location.

The accommodation was beautifully presented and layed out with great eco and dog friendly touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was made even more memorable wihen we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from our bedroom window!

We enjoyed our stay, up from Edinburgh for the golf and the apartment is walkable for a hassle free stay. The Indian underneath was decent (there were zero disruptions or issues being above the restaurant - incase you have any concerns about that) and the cafe across the road was lovely for breakfast or lunch. The parking was great too and because of the location our car never moved 👍🏼

we loved every second of our stay and could’ve definitely stayed for longer. a true gem and amazing value for money. the photos don’t do it justice! the area is stunning and ideal if you are looking to spend some time outdoors surrounded by beautiful landscapes and beaches.

Eine wunderbare und herzliche Gastgeberin an einem der schönsten Orte, die Schottland zu bieten hat. Die Unterkunft ist mehr als vollständig ausgestattet und wirklich groß. Vom Esstisch aus kann man auf das Wasser schauen. Zu sehen sind ein wunderschöner Sandstrand, ein kleiner Hafen, kleine Inseln und auch mal Segelboote. Eine wirklich hübsche Bucht. Anfänglich fühlte es sich an, als wären wir in der Wohnung einer anderen Person und diese kommt jede Minute nach Hause. So fühlte es sich schnell auch für uns wohnlich an. Die Betten waren auch sehr bequem.

The perfect location for our trip, especially when injury changed our Munro plans; plenty of alternative places to visit including local walks, Ardvreck Castle and hidden cairns, mottes and cafes. Would book again if we were staying in the area.

Had a great stay at John's and used it as a base to explore the surrounding area as well as relax and do some online work. It is a very quiet area and kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home if that's your thing. The nearby town of Tain has everything that you would need including a number of the large supermarkets.

The flat is a little gem with lots of little added things to make it pretty: pictures, photos, nice curtains etc. When we arrived the electric fire and classic FM were on. A special touch. Super quiet. The view is amazing and it is only 10 minutes walk to Stromness. Super easy to access by car and then travel into the island. Highly recommend.

Bert’s apartment was excellent. It was even better in real life than on the pictures. We had two dogs and a toddler with us and were all very comfortable for the duration of our stay. Bert was an excellent host. Really friendly and accommodating. I’d definitely recommend a stay with him.
