You are most welcome to stay in Jinja, Uganda's finest container house. This repurposed container started its journey in America & was filled with medical supplies & shoes for Sole Hope. It has been turned into a light, creative, relaxing environment with an amazing shower & comfortable beds.
“The container haus is located in a very private place away from the noise of Jinja town. Once you get there, expect a nice warm house with just enough room for you. Spent a lot of time in the kitchen and at the front porch where you can relax and wind down after your day. A blend between old school and modern, the container haus is definitely a place to spent a couple of days.”
We are located in Bujagali, Jinja about 7km from Jinja town. Bujagali is a village next to the river Nile, with easy access to town and many things to do, from village walks, superb Nile views, boat tours, quad biking and so on. Im always around to help you with anything and everything. you will have whole access to the cabin with your own balcony overlooking the Nile and be my next door neighbour.
“Ceyda’s place is as beautiful as the pictures. We had such a relaxing couple of days surrounded by monkeys and all kinds of birds with a fantastic view of the Nile. The restaurant next door has great food at a reasonable price and there are also local chapati places just a short walk to the village. Ceyda and her husband were gracious hosts and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. It was really nice to chat with them. We would recommend their place to everyone.”
A typical African style cottage with a large veranda, overlooking the River Nile. The garden has a wide variety of birds and monkeys. Cool off in the swimming pool or catch your own fish for lunch. 5km from Jinja, the adventure capital of E. Africa.
“THE PLACE: Everything about this place screams Relaxing. The hammock by the riverside, the hammock hanging by the front porch, the monkeys playing about in the trees, the three lovely dogs and the swimming pool.... absolutely everything is designed to make you feel completely relaxed. THE HOUSE: Well designed and impecably designed. Had all we needed for a weekend stay. We stayed during the dry season so it was hot at night, but had a little fan that helped during the night. Hope in the future we can have a larger fan. Spend time in the hammock swinging in the front porch and your worries ought to disappear. THE TOWN: The town isn't too far off and you can go eat a nice selection of food while staying here. The host, Ingrid, recommeded an indian restaurant that we found delightful. Jinja is a nice place and a great escape from noisy and rowdy Kampala capital city. HOST: Ms. Ingrid was a lovely host, which shouldn't be shocking as she's been in Uganda for a while and knows Jinja in and out. Ask her for local restaurant recommendations and she will be of help. She replied to all my queries which we brought up. TIPS: If coming from kampala, use the kayunga-Kampala road because it is a newer road that is faster and also has less traffic overall. Come earlier so you spend time by the river hammock doing absolutely nothing but swinging about aimlessly (just like the gods of the nile intended 😄) Talk to the nearby mto Moyoni resort folk and they will hook you up with a boat ride around the surrounding areas. Costs not more than $30”
