“Great location, room is above a bar. Simple but clean with everything we expected. Howth is very well connected to dublin. Host was very helpful and arranged a reliable taxi for our airport-transfer since we had to leave very early. (Airport taxi approx 30€).”
In the beautiful surroundings of Howth, our snug, a studio room in the grounds of our tranquil home, is a bright, private, relaxed, intimate space, perfect for the travelling couple. The room offers homely sleeping, sitting and basic kitchenette facilities, with a shower en-suite.
“Margot amply deserves its super-host status. She came to welcome us most warmly with her husband when we arrived. And when we left, the latter came to greet us, just as warmly. The "Snug" is indeed very comfortable and very cozy, immaculate, sufficiently spacious, and very well equipped. Despite the wind and showers at the start of January, we were never cold and lacked nothing. The entrance is truly independent, and our hosts were more than discreet, while remaining easily accessible. The wi-fi is of excellent quality, like the bedding. The breakfast provided is a very pleasant plus, which gives it an unbeatable value for money! The other bonus of this rental is the Howth Peninsula itself. We were delighted to have planned this stopover during our visit to Dublin. Howth is indeed a fishing port located in the suburbs, just 1/2 hour by train ("RER" type) from Dublin city center (runs every 1/4 hour during the week). But it is also a peninsula with beautiful hills, a small satellite island, already imposing cliffs and a very pretty cape surmounted by a lighthouse, offering a sumptuous view of Dublin Bay. All of this offers the opportunity for magical hikes, with viewpoints each more beautiful than the next. If you do not have the opportunity to discover the mythical Ireland of Kerry or Connemara, you have here a small digest already very nice, only 1/2 hour from Dublin! The ideal is therefore to organize your hikes in Howth on sunny days, to enjoy its beautiful landscapes (Allow 4 hours to go around the island if you want to keep some photographic memories), carry out your seal safari (watch the channel at the entrance to the port, this is where these buccaneers stand to escort fishing boats when they return) or your digestive walk on the long pier, watch for voracious gulls (watch out for your fries ) and the many herons posted on the roofs, or simply, stuffing yourself with fish, seafood, stew and Guinness in one of the nice restaurants that line the quays. It is also possible to visit the beautiful little island opposite, it seems that it harbors the ruins of a tower, and that it hosts a colony of seals and many birds. On rainy days, you can retreat to Dublin, and complete your visit to this warm city where partying, laughing and enjoying friendship is erected in the art of living. In short, we loved it, and we will definitely come back, to Margot, for sure.”
Beautiful cottage in Howth right beside the scenic cliff path. Ideal for couples or small families. Your own private place in a lovely part of Howth. Enjoy amazing walks, check out our delicious seafood restaurants or grab a pint and listen to some great music in one of our wonderful pubs. Plenty of room in our charming, very comfortable 1 bedroom cottage down a private lane. Living room and private bathroom with fabulous shower. No kitchen but tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge.
“Celine's place is very comfortable and cosy, and a good location if you want a mix of city and country/coastal break. (We explored both without hiring a car). Howth is a lovely antidote to a busier time in Dublin. Celine and David are super friendly and helpful - there if we needed anything at all but respectful of giving us our own space. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.”
