Burnside Lodge on the Shore of Loch Long, Dornie

JonathanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a really peaceful and quiet Christmas here with two of our adult children who were visiting from the USA. The place was exactly as described, the rooms were clean and warm, bathrooms work great and the whole house was lovely and warm with plenty of hot water. Super location, lovely property, great hosts. Everything you could need.

Azalea Cottage by the Bay

I can't recommend the cottage enough as a place to stay. It was just what I was looking for, relaxing with beautiful surroundings. I took my dog and paddle board as it was right on the water, and there were lots of gorgeous walks nearby with new areas to explore. I'll definitely be back, sooner rather than later I hope!

Had a wonderful stay, location was beautiful and peaceful. Not even a minutes walk to the distillery and very close to Talisker bay and the fairy pools as well. The kitchen had all the essentials and the living room was very comfortable. Don is very friendly and quick to respond to any questions you may have. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to explore Skye.

This is an extremely well-presented modern property in a great position very near to Kenmore and some nice restaurants. The only slight oddity is that the owner controls the heating externally via an App which some people might not like. The manager was very responsive and sorted out an initial problem with the heating and we were told to contact her if we were not warm enough. The view over Loch Tay from the upstairs living room is over the houses in front but is still a lovely view. We would definitely recommend this property to friends.

Lochside getaway in Highland Perthshire

ScottRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Gorgeous place. Peaceful, beautiful, stunning location. Amazing views of the loch and hills from the lounge. So cosy with the wood burner on. Lots to do in the surrounding area - we walked in the ancient Caledonian black wood of Rannoch, hiked across Rannoch Moor “the last Scottish wildernesses”, and cycled round the loch. The tea room at Rannoch Train Station is wonderful with great views and delicious food and drink – we loved the hot toddy. Host was very responsive and helpful with questions we had. Highly recommend this AirBnB. Hope to visit again.

This place is absolutely beautiful - we could not fault it. Mark and Tamsin could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The house is lovely, very well equipped and was perfect for my elderly father who has mobility problems. We did not want to leave!

We had a last minute cancellation at a different AirB&B and were very appreciative of the booking at Riverside Hideaway. The cancellation definitely did us a favour and we were able to enjoy much greater comfort and warmth too! It is very well equipped and all finished to a high standard. We hope to return for longer next time to enjoy Loch Insh and the surrounding countryside and wildlife. Many thanks, Jane & David.

Tigh Sgoile Loft Apartment near Glencoe

JulianeRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a marvellous stay with Chris and Sarah - the apartment is wonderfully warm and oh so cosy. It is neat and clean and has everything one could need, from toiletries to sandwich bags and a very well equipped kitchen. The location is fabulous, peaceful and quiet with stunning views. It's an easy drive to Fort William for the local amenities, Glencoe in all its jaw-dropping beauty is very close too. Chris and Sarah are lovely and very welcoming hosts and, whilst we didn't take them up on it, incredibly kindly offered for us to stay an extra night free of charge because of severe storm warnings on our day of departure. We would love to stay with them again for a super relaxing break in the highlands.

Carnmhor, 252y/o Stunning cottage on its own shore

RichardRating, 5 stars2 months ago
After 30 years finally visited Skye again and what a place we chose to stay! Beautiful historic cottage with its own shore access. Upon entry to the cottage we feel right at home, the amenities were fantastic with the collection of CD right in our era. Phil even left a welcome basket with wine. The modern and clean kitchen came even with Nespresso machine and Phil even provided the pods. We didn’t even feel we need to wash any of the utensils or crockery and pans before use. That’s the kind of feeling you get. This is off season for Skye but we think this is the perfect time away from the crowd of summer. Phil place provided us the right location for reacquainting with Skye. Around the house there are also plenty of food options and a Co Op that you can get your groceries , would definitely book again when going to Skye.

There are three cottages at this site and we have now stayed in two of them. Both beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Alex and Bart, who own them, are very responsive - literally minutes to get a reply to queries. Super quiet location. We usually come here for the Strathpuffer bike event but honestly, I'd stay in any of these cottages if I just wanted a peaceful, luxurious getaway.

Couples/Solos Beachside cottage on Loch Rannoch

We just had the most wonderful stay at Sadhara bothy. The location is remote and stunning, perfect for a peace and quiet getaway. The bothy is well equipped, clean and cosy. The fireplace got the bothy nice and toasty. It's also a 20 min drive through beautiful red deer moorland to the train station where we picked up some fantastic cake to eat on the train and watch the awesome scenery go by on the west highland line. There were beautiful walks through the blackwood, a pristine loch you could get out on, and pleanty of wildlife to spot. Will have to go back again to explore more. Thank you so much Melanie & Peter for having us x

Rowan Cottage Highland retreat near Fort William

EmmaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This was an amazing find for us. Stunning location surrounded by snow capped hills and right beside the river. A well maintained 'passing place' road complete with sheep to get there. Followed Linda's directions and used google maps (not apple) was very straight forward. The cottage has loads of room and is warm, cosy and comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. Linda was really responsive - quick, friendly and useful communication throughout. 30-40min drive to Glenfinnan viaduct, fish n chips in Fort William followed by a beautiful walk to Steall waterfall. The cottage was perfectly situated for this and planning a visit later in the year to enjoy the back patio in some warmer weather - although we did use it to do some chilly star gazing!
