Beachfront vacation rentals in Halifax

Our stay at Terence Bay was incredible. The location is stunning—right on the beach with beautiful views of a lighthouse. My kids loved being able to climb on the rocks, go hiking along the seashore and even find sea glass right in the backyard! We couldn’t have asked for more and my family didn’t want our time to end! The property was spotless and even better than the pictures. Our two kids especially loved the bunk bed room. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was pure bliss. Danielle, our host, was fantastic—always helpful and attentive. You could tell that she genuinely cared about us having a great trip. She offered us tips and help when needed. We’ll definitely be recommending this spot to our friends and family.

We had a great stay here! Check-in was easy, communication with Ethel was great, and the space was spotless!

Kyle’s place was fantastic and exactly as advertised. The ocean proximity and views from the front porch of our cottage was stunning. We really enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub and would stay again in a heartbeat.

This was a perfect getaway home. Very comfortable and relaxing. A great view of the ocean. The front windows let in so much of the morning light ; I absolutely loved hanging out in front of the window in a big comfy chair or sitting on the front porch drinking coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings. One does have to drive to get anywhere but the drives are relaxing and the scenery is beautiful. Grocery stores only a few miles away. A great beach also a few miles away. We weren’t able to experience any local restaurants unless there was outdoor seating as we had our dog, a Great Dane, with us. But that was completely okay with us as we just really wanted to get away from the craziness of the world for a week! The host was very responsive when we had questions and very friendly. Highly recommend this little charm!

I can't begin to explain the scerene beauty that this place Tania's place offers. Stunningly beautiful views and a sunrise that leaves you breathless. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and their amazing dogs made the whole place feel like home. We will definitely be back. If I could ever recommend somewhere to be near Halifax but out of this city this hidden gem is an absolute must!!!

This was the most amazing place. We spent a week here and Everything you needed or wanted was right in this place. The surroundings were peaceful, very inviting. Gillian checked in with us halfway through our stay to see if we needed anything. The beds were very comfy. The firepit is beautiful there was a fully stacked wood pile to use for the fire. There were lots of chairs all around to sit outside or out by the the dock. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Gillian and Scott for your hospitality.

Perfect cottage for a family. Wish we stayed longer. We will return.

You will not be disappointed ... I would like to add to all the prior reviews as this location, Host and accommodation was exactly what we were looking for. As a newly retired couple we stayed 3 nights and found it was in a great location to step out and explore the local towns. I don't think we drove more than 1.5 hours to get to great spots that were listed in the Welcome Book or others had recommended. I understand it is booking related but Courtenay offered us both an early and late check-in/check-out. There were few little things like pod coffee and milk waiting that was really nice. The walking trail access was at the top of the road and we think we hit about 15km's on that over the few days. It was only a 15 min drive to local grocery stores so easy to stock up. It is close to Halifax but we had stayed there in days prior so no desire to head back to a busier place, why would you !! I think every review I looked at before selecting it was 5, I totally agree. Absolutely loved our stay! The location was peaceful and right on the water with an amazing view. The space was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. The host was friendly and responsive. A perfect girls weekend getaway!

The suite was open concept and beautiful inside. The boat dock on the lake was a wonderful place to sit in the morning with coffee. The bathroom was very nice. I would have liked a non slip rubber mat in the tub and grab bar on the side as the tub was a high sided tub. Over all we made out fine but my wife had to be very careful getting in and out of the shower as she has balance issues and walk with a cane. The master bedroom king bed was extremely comfortable. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds the were very firm but ok Galen was very pleasant to visit with and came twice to check on us. Much appreciated the attention. The nearest store(Sobeys) is about 5km away. The end culdasac and area is very quiet

This place is stunning! Within 5 minutes of arriving we knew this was going to be a great trip. Richie was very helpful and the arrival was smooth. The location is so picturesque; the view is amazing. The 3 beaches are completely private. The walk through the small path to the rocks was a great discovery and we spent time just sitting on the rocks enjoying the scenery. The house is beautiful and everything you could possibly need was provided. Even the towels were so soft and fluffy. The wood burning stove was a real treat on a chilly evening. The house is spotlessly clean and very well decorated. It’s a quiet area but not far from Peggy’s Cove or Halifax. Overall I can recommend this property enough. If Richie ever decides to sell I’ll be first in the queue. Overall a fantastic stay and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks Richie :)

Really interesting place to stay, right next to the lighthouse! It’s a busy place, but that makes it interesting also to people watch! Nice ocean views in all directions. Very well equipped in every way. Comfortable bed and living space.

Tanya's place was our #1 favorite Airbnb that was stayed at during our mother/daughter trip around Nova Scotia. The location is secluded but you are a short 15 minute drive to restaurants and another 15 max to Peggy's Cove. The house is so beautiful and amazing that is actually sits on top of a rock (the front porch is the rock)! Many opportunities to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the water. The beds were THE most comfortable and amenities like washer and dryer were great as well. We chatted with Tanya the morning we were leaving and she gave us a walk around of future plans for another building on site, which only lead to my mom and I making the immediate decision that we WILL BE BACK! Next time we will stay for longer than just one night, it is worth spending several days here.

Raquel’s place, “Vista Del Mar,” is absolutely gorgeous!! The open concept of the main level allows for guests to dine and intermingle while enjoying the picturesque view of St. Margaret’s Bay. Raquel was quick to respond to messages and was a pleasure to talk to! A short scenic drive to Peggy’s Cove and Halifax. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone travelling to Nova Scotia. Thank you Raquel for having our group at your place!

It was an interesting stay for the host and for our group. First, I got a message that the air conditioning had failed the day before we arrived and the repair people were not available until after our stay. So the hosts put fans in all of the rooms! Then the hurricane came and it was not safe to stay. We left the day the hosts were coming to secure the house for the storm. And they initiated a refund for the days we could not stay! You can’t ask for more from hosts! The house is lovely and a great place to stay!

Great large house rental right on the Atlantic ocean. Came with outdoor firepit and BBQ. Had a great stay with 6 guests.

We had a family gathering here. The place was clean, big, lots of things to do (inside and out) and we felt right at home. Deborah was very responsive and accommodating. The view and dock were amazing and the deck outside was plenty big for us all. When the weather turned we went under the deck. The place is perfect for getting everyone together. Would definitely book again.

Great location on a very clean and peaceful lake. Swimming , kayaks and paddleboards are available right off the private dock. My son and I enjoyed paddling around the lake with islands, walking trails and a natural area with diving board to explore. The house is on a peninsula so while it’s very private , you also get pretty views on 3 sides. The house is stocked with everything you need for meals, movie watching , games (indoor & outdoor) as wells as a fire pit area. Very rustic feel but everything clean and air conditioned so we were comfortable when we did spend time in the house. Lastly , we were able to get to the Halifax waterfront for a very enjoyable meal in only 35 mins. Closer options in Sackville & Dartmouth as well. We also appreciated having a large Sobey’s grocery store only 10 min drive away.

We had a spectacular time at this beautiful place! Would absolutely very highly recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful place in a lovely location!
