This place is a rare gem of architectural design, modern amenities and over all aesthetically pleasing enclave in an otherwise hip and bustling neighborhood. Not only is the hanok a treat for the afficionado but the host provides everything you could ask for: the best coffee beans, fantastic tea, fruit, yogurt and bread. The selections are impeccable. It's hard not to feel that you've stepped into a luxurious 5 star accommodation. Follow the recommendations for the best cafés, restaurants etc in the neighborhood. A review of using Giolstay for the first time The host's detailed explanation and friendly response were very helpful in using it as the first person who booked the accommodation. Giolstay is neat and the beautiful texture of the hanok is alive. In the evening, the beauty of the hanok seems to live even more. Everything is neat and tidy. The biggest advantage of a single hanok was that I didn't notice even if I was talking to my friends, laughing, and talking loudly. And the prepared coffee and cup ramen delicious bread was enough for breakfast. There was no inconvenience in using the friendly boss and everything fully equipped. The all-night conversation with the alumni was also very pleasant and happy. I had a good time and had a good time without any inconvenience. Thank you. My friends from far away also I was happy to say that it was really good. If I have another gathering like this in Gwangju next time, I'll book again. Thank you, sir. It's a really nice place to stay as a group. The hosts are also very kind. I highly recommend it if you're staying for more than 10 people.

One of the most atmospheric stays I’ve experienced. This was during my first trip to South Korea, and I traveled to Gwangju from Seoul to see the biennale in its last week. I could have made it a day trip and go back to Seoul that night, but really wanted to give myself some flexibility and enjoy what the town had to offer. This hanok in particular was a highlight — it’s clear how much thought and care the hosts put into this space. My only regret is that we stayed for just a day. We arrived on a Tuesday so we weren’t able to take advantage of the wine store, but admired that it was an option for guests to indulge. The hosts are available for any assistance and are really communicative about options in the area, so don’t be afraid to ask. I’ll definitely consider staying again if I’m ever back, and for sure recommend it to any friends and colleagues visiting Gwangju.
