Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Fontrieu

We have just returned from 2 weeks here and we had a fantastic time! Iain is so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble! The house is ideal and perfectly matches the description! We had two dogs and the fully enclosed garden meant we could fully relax. We had a few days where we were unlucky with the weather so the heated pool was ideal and Iain was kind enough to make it slightly warmer for us! The house is so close to everywhere but still feels so private and quiet. We loved having the peace, but yet having everything we needed on the door step. We’d return in a heartbeat!

The property was everything we’d hoped for, peaceful, private and in a beautiful setting. It was equipped with everything we could need, with very comfortable furniture and high quality linens. The kitchen was very well equipped indeed, I loved the air fryer! Colin met us on arrival, unlocking the door and showing us how to operate the shutters before making himself scarce. Although the hosts live next door they’d obviously gone to some effort to make sure the property felt private, we hardly knew they were there. The area is just beautiful with some very scenic villages within a short drive. We’d recommend visiting Montolieu as well as Carcassonne itself. The Lac de la Cavayere is well worth a visit in nice weather and I suspect even more so in summer when all of its activities are in operation. Colin very kindly negotiated with the cleaners to allow us an extra hour before we had to check out - with 7 hours between checkout and our flight this was very much appreciated!

we had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The house is brilliant. There were 6 adults and 5 children and we had plenty of space. The pool and outside kitchen were awesome and we loved being able to cook and eat outside. Great value for money and I can't recommend the place highly enough!

We were hosted very well by Bertrand who was very responsive throughout the stay, as soon as we had a question or problem. The space was exactly as described, with good facilities and good beds. The presence of air conditioning in each room is a plus. The proximity to other families who were staying nearby went well, and we were able to enjoy the pool at our leisure. Finally, one of the big highlights of the accommodation is its location in the middle of the hills, away from the hustle and bustle and allowing you to really find yourself.

We had a lovely stay at Christophe and Nathalie's place. This cottage is very well equipped, with a very pleasant garden for young and old. Located halfway between Carcassonne and Narbonne, undoubtedly to be booked.

As described, the accommodation is located in the medieval center of Olargues and, therefore, away from any parking. The apartment is very well-equipped even though we only stayed there for 2 nights. Note: the rooms are accessible by 2 separate stairs, and very steep and the toilet is on the ground floor. Maryline welcomed us kindly and we had a pleasant stay at her place.

Beautiful apartment right next to the historic center of Narbonne. Very clean and well-equipped. Katia is a great host, we didn't get a chance to meet, but we communicated by message and she responded very quickly.

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Jean Michel's! She is a great person — very welcoming, caring, always ready to help. The apartment is very comfortable, warm, with an amazing view of the surroundings. Everything was clean, well organized and full of charm. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. This is one of the loveliest long term stays that I have had ever had. This feels like a true home - all of the amenities and appliances that you could need for cooking at home and having a relaxing evening after a day of travels, including a kettle, coffee maker, microwave, pots and pans, and multiple sets of dishes. Never had any issues the hot water or water pressure. The wi-fi is incredibly fast and reliable, perfect for video calls for work and video streaming. The hosts live nearby and were very flexible and responsive when our train was delayed coming into Carcassonne, and they met us at the door and helped us to settle in. They also were very patient and helpful whenever we had any questions or issues (including those that were caused by our cat!) The location is incredible, very close to tourist sites and a nearby park / walking trail. Carrefour is about 15 mins walking, Lidl is a little further (25 mins walking). We'd love to come again!!

Excellent experience. Very kind hosts, welcoming and ready to adapt the schedule. Very nice private parking. Located at the foot of the Medieval City. Their restaurant on the ground floor is a paradise for lovers of good meat. The apartment is very spacious and elegantly decorated. Great bedding. Need we say more? It was a perfect we. Recommended!

Small one-night stopover on our way back from the Christmas holidays in Kamelia's very cozy apartment. We wanted to introduce our children to the castle and the medieval city. It's done, especially since the accommodation is a 5-minute walk from the city gates. Kamelia is very responsive as well as her dad who hosted us very warmly. Carcassonne is a beautiful city. Next time, we'll stay longer. Thank you very much.

An idyllic stay by the sea! We had a great time at Philippe's apartment, ideally located on the seafront. The daily market, right at the foot of the accommodation, offers a nice selection of fresh local products: a real pleasure for cooking or simply enjoying. Many shops are also within walking distance, making everyday life very convenient. The beach is superb and perfect for long walks. The apartment is comfortable and well-equipped, a real little slice of heaven for a relaxing vacation.
