Your Dolphin Watching Experience will begin at the Marina de Lagos. Firstly checking in at the BomDia Boat Trip office opposite the Pontoon entrance. A member of our crew will then take you down to the boat that you will be travelling on and arrange the life jackets. A safety briefing and also a trip description will be given by one of the crew as you set off down the river. This boat trip is one and a half hours round trip in search of wild dolphins and any other wild animals that we may be lucky enough to see. Once out of the river we will then speed up on the ocean and commence our search, we do have hot spots and feeding areas that we check but these beautiful wild animals can be anywhere. Once we find the Dolphins our professional crew will respectfully allow the Dolphins to approach and also answer any questions that you may have regarding the particular species you are seeing or any other species you may have questions about. You are free to leave your seats and move around the boat, taking pictures and soaking up the beautiful experience. When it is time to leave back to land, everyone will be seated again for the journey back to the Marina. Our crew will be very happy to talk more once back in the river about any questions you have or ways you can help retain the environment for these beautiful animals. A Surf day at the Salty Wave Surf School begins with our Surf-Van pick you up at predetermined spot in the lagos área. Depending on the winds, tides and swell size, we'll choose a surf spot that suits the day's conditions and is best for learning. After arriving to the surf spot, we'll grab our gear from the van and head to the sand to get our wetsuits on. The surf session begins with a warm up, introduction of the beach and ocean conditions, surf materials, and safety rules. We will also practice some techniques and pop-ups on the sand. We know you want to go surfing and it is time to show us in the water what you've learned at the sand. Our experience includes 2:30 hours of surfing including, warmup, safety briefing, wetsuit and surfboard and beach transfer if you in Lagos area. Lesson Structure: Part 1-Land Lesson: Lessons start on the beach with thirty minutes of instruction and practice. We meet before sunrise at ALBANDEIRA BEACH to get our equipment and do the safety instructions with a coffee. After we went to the sea to see the sunrise, we will start exploring the caves. On the way to Benagil Cave we stop at different caves and beaches, such as Marinhas Beach, and reach Benagil before the commercial travel and motorboats come. There we will land and have enough time to explore the cave and photos. On our way back we stop at more caves and beaches where we will take time to enjoy the view, swim or relax, it is up to you. We start so early as the sunrise gives the cliffs and rocks a special color and we have the opportunity to have the beaches and water to ourselves, away from mass tourism. In addition, the water is very calm at this time without boats crashing in the caves. Most of the caves can only be reached by kayak and I will show you caves that no one else explores! After we finish the tour, we can rest at ALBANDEIRA BEACH and enjoy a picnic with Portuguese bread, cold cuts for sandwiches, seasonal fruits and vegetables and cold drinks. Other things to note In high season please ensure you wear sunscreen and allow plenty of time to reach the meeting point. In the low season please ensure you wear appropriate clothing (jacket or extra jumper) as it can be a bit chilly. Sun screen is recommended in low season too.
