Home from home! What a gem of a place. Situated in a prime location with all amenities nearby. What suited us was the birdlife and the tranquility of the setting. Shirley-Ann is a delightful host and, after a month-long stay, we are now firm friends and will stay connected. There is not a negative aspect to report: only a rave review of a rare find! We look forward to our return as we visit family and friends in Durban regularly. I highly recommend this cottage. Thank you Shirley-Ann.

A home away from home....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, love Hajra who really takes good care of the place. Marian is always checking in and keeps us updated. This is our third stay and will be returning. Thank you Marian and Hajra.

Beautiful garden house with pool and ocean view. We really enjoyed working remotely from there and then relaxing in the evening or having a braai with the awesome hosts (and their lovely dogs) We had everything we needed. Total recommendation this one!

Staying at The Cottage was a lovely getaway from the hustle and bustle, with everything we could need as a group of 3 staying together. The home itself was welcoming and safe, and we truly felt right at home. The verandah and garden were an added plus on sunny days when we could sit outside and eat.

Lovely view of the harbour from the veranda, and the host was also very responsive to any needs I had during my stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there which was for 10 nights. During our stay there was both a water and power outage which were not within the host's control. One was due to pipe maintenance and the other due to a vehicle colliding with a power pole. At all stages Ashton provided updates and supplied water and a gas cylinder and burner, so we were able to make coffee which was great. Ashton offered us a refund to compensate for the situation however we declined. Keeping us up to date and providing reasonable solutions is what really mattered the most to us, so we weren't left in the dark, if you pardon the pun. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone, and we would happily return should we visit Durban again.

We had a very wonderful stay, the place was very beautiful and looked better than the pictures. Very spacious and every room was aesthetically pleasing. Liesl was a very gracious host who allowed us an early check-in despite us not having made any prior reservations for that. I could go on and on about how wonderful the host and the place was…we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we look forward to visiting again in future.

I recently stayed at Gails place or more like a home away from home, and it exceeded all expectations! The place was clean, cozy, spacious, with a sparkling pool. Gail was friendly, communicative, helpful in every manner, and she made sure everything was perfect for the visit. The location was convenient, serene, close to the promenade and Umhlanga, which made exploring the area a breeze. I especially appreciated her warm, honest and caring nature. Gail was magnificent despite a few adventures with the local wildlife highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a relaxing, convenient, luxurious, getaway. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

Great place! Really perfect weekend getaway. The only thing was that the one bathroom (separate) did not have hot water - we tried to look on the dv board but couldn’t figure it out. But the rest - absolutely lovely!

Great host and a great cottage fairly close to the sea. Has a large covered patio perfect for sundowners (pity we were there in a heatwave). Aircon and all the mod cons you could desire make this place great value for money.

Thank you for the stay at your cottage and assistance with the extra fence over the gate it really helped us to relax and feel at home knowing our small dogs could not get out. Our dogs are escape artists. Host is friendly, helpful and attentive. We would happily recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway in the Durban area.

I enjoyed my stay in Bonela. It was peaceful and Vusi was very responsive and helpful. The place was ideally located near the taxis so it was easier for me getting around Durban. I would definitely come back again. Highly recommend 👌
