“Ian & Sian (via Cherise) Are the most hospitable hosts, and are a pleasure to interact with. They’re helpful, incredibly generous and are lovely to stay with. The Pomegranate Cottage is completely private and exactly as described. And Ian is likely to start your morning off with a little surprise, that was the most lovely addition :) Can’t wait to get back!”
Explore Dullstroom with it’s scenic hikes, horse riding trails and breathtaking waterfalls. Dullstroom dates back to the early 1880's when Dutch Settlers made their way to the place of "eternal mist". The town is situated at 2100 m above sea level, making this one of the highest towns in the country. The architecture in the town is a mixture of 19th and 20th century building designs. Dullstroom-Emnotweni is on route, halfway from Johannesburg to the Kruger National Park. The ideal stop over!
“We had a lovely stay at Charles' place. the townhouse is very quaint, clean and convenient. It is large and spacious. It is also pet friendly which is great, the yard is fully enclosed which means you can leave your pup home alone for a bit, however the front wall and especially the gate into the yard is pretty low, so if your dog is a jumper this place will not do. We loved walking to the dam every morning. Would definitely recommend this place!”
Our place overlooks a wetland, and the suikerbos mountain. It is close to great restaurants and 5 minutes walk away from beautiful mountain walks, a trout fishing dam and mountain bike trails as well as many good restaurants. Dullstroom is also the half way mark to Kruger Park. Please note: The fireplace and jacuzzi function (however, still works as a big bath) in the top bedroom are currently out of operation.
“The house was just wonderful - unfortunately we only stayed a night. We absolutely loved the Sauna and big bath tub, especially because it gets pretty fresh at night. Incredibly comfortable beds and a selection of books you can only dream of - from 'Capital' by Marx to Calvin and Hobbes. Great view into the South African green and endless hills.”
