The Community Fund:

Airbnb’s $100 million investment in communities

Airbnb Hosts open their doors to travelers and welcome them into their communities. Airbnb has committed to serve our stakeholders and we want to give back to the places our Hosts call home. Through the Community Fund, Airbnb plans to distribute $100 million USD over the next 10 years to organizations that support communities around the world.

We partnered with our Host community, including our Host Advisory Board, as well as our partner, GlobalGiving, to help direct the inaugural round of grants.

Hear from our Host community

Pamellah Gakenia

“Airbnb, Hosts, guests and the community depend on each other to create the balance we need to thrive. The thought of the impact of the funds to our community fueled me to be part of this great opportunity to create this balance for us and future generations." - Host from Malindi, Kenya

Vinícius De Franceschi

"My fellow Host Advisory Board members and I reviewed several organizations, and we chose the organizations that we hope will have the most meaningful impact in their communities. It’s so inspiring to realize there are so many people doing good things in the world!” - Host from Porto Alegre, Brasil

Pascale Hasson Boudjedida

“I really liked how the Community Fund process was shared between different groups - not just Airbnb, but also the Host Advisory Board, Community Leaders and other Hosts. We are all equally responsible for our Community. I feel honoured to be part of the process.” - Host from Bordeaux, France

Peter Kwan

“Through Airbnb's generosity and the dedication of the Host Advisory Board team, we’re able to help direct resources to worthwhile causes and know that we have played a part in helping to transform and improve the lives of communities and people in need.” - Host from California, USA
