“This is a wonderful change to experience a beautifully restored 600 year old tower house castle. The family has spent many years and much effort to turn this into a very unique experience. The interior is modern in finishes, but within the stone walls of a 600 year old structure. The pictures do everything justice, except for the very steep stairs. The photos, news clippings and framed portraits and certificates provide a wonderful sense of the journey for this place. As we drove around Ireland, we saw many a tower house in the middle of a field in disarray and wondered, what would it have been like if it had been maintained. Well, this one was. And it was truly a unique experience. We had a wonderful time. The scones and provisions left for us were nice to have a few items in the house. The night was especially cold and windy, but the 2 fire places kept us warm enough, and there are many blankets and covers on the beds. The castle is heated sparingly because of recently heat was added and the curing of the stones that is taking place. So it wasn't "warm" or "cozy" on these nights, but we were not cold, and the fires with ecologs were a nice touch to warm the living room and upper bedroom. All told, this was exactly what we hoped for when we booked a castle experience in Ireland. Thanks!”
