Low Barn Cottage

RebbeccaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We loved the remoteness of the cottage, the peace & quiet. Loved the pool & hot tub which is a must if we don't stay coastal. You definitely need a car to access any shops as the nearest shop is 2.3 miles and this closes at 5. No pubs within walking distance and some pubs only opened certain days and opened at 6. However that's what makes the place attractive & peaceful. Lots of places to visit with 10 mile radius. Great walks and historical sites to see. Beautiful landscape. Cottage was very snug & comfortable.

Luxury cottage with hot tub - Barnard Castle

NatalieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Julia was a brilliant host from booking until check out! The cottage was absolutely stunning and so was the surrounding areas. Julia was very friendly and helpful, we went as a group of work friends and was being a little too loud without realising, Julia was understanding and just politely asked if we could quieten a little outside due to neighbours, to which we apologised and enjoyed our night. I would definitely return in the future, hopefully with the family for a longer stay. Thank you so much Julia!!!!!

In a word - wow! Lovely cottage, well equipped with modern tasteful decor and an excellent kitchen which is well presented with good quality equipment. The hot was amazing and the area is stunning. We had great weather and enjoyed sitting out on an evening next to the stream. The little details such as doggy provisions and the welcome bottle of fizz were appreciated. We will be back!!

Beautiful 5 star 2 bedroom cottage with hot tub.

LeanneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We enjoyed a great break in Peewit Cottage, which was spotless and had everything you need. The surroundings were well looked after and amenities great. The little touches, including the welcome pack (best we’ve had and included the dog!) and Prosecco and strawberries to enjoy in the hot tub were thoughtful and lovely. All the information you need is provided prior to arrival or readily available within the cottage. We used the cottage as a base to visit local attractions, all easily accessible by car. Glen was both very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and somewhere we would return to. Thank you, Jacqueline!

Lea Cottage in Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle

FfionRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a gem!! A long weekend away in Lea Cottage is just what we needed. Claire’s home is perfect - it’s cozy, spotlessly clean and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into furnishing it with lovely artwork. The village is really pretty with the chimes of the church bells in the background and all the winding country roads. Breakfast amongst the flowers in the garden, a good hike in the Pennines and then an evening meal at The Rose and Crown was the perfect day. Thank you :) Thank you!

The Hayloft- romantic retreat and dog friendly!

KimberleyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay at The Hayloft while visiting my sister who lives nearby. We love the area and the cottage is in a lovely peaceful location away from the main road and with footpaths on the doorstep. We had lots of great days out revisiting places like Richmond, Barnard Castle and Deepdale Wood and Raby Castle. The cottage was very clean, cosy and well equipped with a lovely view of the fields from the bedroom and a beautiful private garden. The bathroom has also been updated really nicely since the photos were taken for the listing and really exceeded expectations. Thank you for an amazing break. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Old Stone Cottage, Durham

LauraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Lynnes property was such a great find. It offered us (four adults, two children, one dog), such a great place to base ourselves for our week away. The house is much bigger than it looks in the photos and it has everything you need including loads of useful items for small children (toys, plates/ bowls, toilet seat etc.). We definitely recommend Lynnes place.

Beautiful little luxury cottage for two in Durham

MattRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The perfect place for a weekend getaway! Lots of great places to see in the area. Addy’s cottage had everything we could have needed and more. We made good use of the fully equipped kitchen but had some great recommendations for places to eat out nearby too. The cottage is a clean and cosy space and we couldn’t have asked for more! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Stay Northside • Co. Durham Retreat •18thC Cottage

KevinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Loved the cottage. On the area: - fabulous local pub doing great food a literally a stone throws away - a ton of stuff to do within driving distance. We have a 3 & a 6 year old and we didn't scratch the surface of what there was in our 2 days. The local train museum (which is free) kept both our kids entertained for half a day alone - outstanding. Kimberley as a host was extremely responsive and her and Gary have very clearly put a lot of thought into the cottage - so many thoughtful touches! Wouldn't want to ruin it but as an example Kimberley even put out some age appropriate books for our kids along with some torches for some lights off reading by their beds. We'll definitely book again next time we're in the area

Bridge Cottage

BethanRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We loved staying in this cosy terraced cottage a few steps from the shops and superb restaurants on Yarm high street, and from the glorious Tees river walk. It was a very convenient place from which to visit my Dad and explore the area. This is a comfortable home in an historic building with small rooms and characterful features including slightly uneven floorboards and steep stairs, which were a breeze for me, my husband, 12 and 14 year olds, but might be less convenient for someone with mobility issues. The house has been beautifully decorated to maximise the space and light. Everything worked and it was spotlessly clean with a lovely functional little kitchen and great bathroom with plenty of hot water and space. We parked outside at night / on the Sunday, and found one of the suggested car parks just a minutes' walk down the road for the other daytimes. Overall it was a lovely stay and we hope to return next time we visit my Dad because it is such a great property.

River Run Cottage on Tees, Barnard Castle/Dales

LorraineRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a fabulous long weekend at River Run Cottage. We loved the view of the river and bird watching from the conservatory. The whole place was comfortable and really well equipped, there was nothing we wanted that we couldn’t find, they’d thought of everything. We enjoyed trips to recently newly developed Raby Castle, Low Force and High Force and thoroughly enjoyed the stunning scenery all around, wonderful to explore an area that we didn’t know at all. We were blessed with hot and sunny weather, this meant we need to manage the heat inside the house and may be a good tip for others. We closed the door between the conservatory and the house and drew all of the curtains during the day on this south facing property. When we returned after our day out the house was lovely and cool. We’d definitely recommend River Run cottage, it’s a fabulous place to stay.
