Kate and Johnny were perfect hosts. Let us be but always instantly available. They have lots of knowledge of the area. Very friendly and welcoming. We appreciated fresh bread, fruit and spreads for breakfast. Quiet and picturesque setting from our deck and in the spa looking down over the beach. Walkable distance into town albeit a steep but manageable path. Bed was super comfy. We weren’t doing activities in CBD but driving around all areas east. Thank you both. We will recommend.

The Lavender Cottage was a beautiful private property with everything one might need or want. We loved the coziness and the outdoor deck. The location was great for visiting Akaroa. Would highly recommend their lovely coo! Thank you so much!

Very comfortable and personal in great location

Jo was a friendly, wonderful hostess, offering to drive us to the International Antarctic Centre and giving us shopping recommendations.There are lots of Ubers in the vicinity and getting into the city was easy. We dined at Spice Paragon and Cassel's at the Tannery, both great choices. Jo has a cat named Ella (I think) and she is friendly as well. This spot is walkable to the Merivale shopping area and also to Riverside Market if you really want to stretch your legs.

Dave was a very helpful host and the place was exactly as described and located in a quiet residential cul-de-sac. There are two natural areas close by, plus the river. Palms mall with a grocery store was 25 min walk. If you don't like walking or don't have a vehicle perhaps not right for you, but I loved getting my steps in through the parks and taking the bus. Would absolutely stay again.

I cannot speak more highly about this special place. From jaw dropping scenery, absolute privacy, relaxed open plan living through to access to a full kitchen and washing machine, this cabin delivers!

This was a great place to stay, clean, warm, well appointed. The host, Samantha, was a pleasure to deal with. She sent detailed and clear instructions and great information about the local area. Everything about the experience was top notch.

We had the most amazing weekend at Sandra & Daryn’s!! So much so that we have already rebooked for a few months time!! We absolutely loved it!! From the moment we walked in the door we felt so cosy & warm & relaxed! It was so peaceful, beautiful & clean! The house was so tastefully decorated & it was even better than we imagined! We wish we could have stayed there longer & with amenities like a full kitchen with a dishwasher & washing machine & dryer it would be easy to! Highlights for us included the Chrome Cast which meant we could watch our fav tv series on the TV, the fresh cold water from the fridge dispenser & I loved being able to go upstairs & read my book & look out to the ocean while my husband watched basketball downstairs! The couches & bed were so comfortable! We also really enjoyed going to the Ferrymead night market for dinner - only a 12 min drive! Sandra & Daryn thought of everything & were so great at checking in & making sure we were ok! We can’t wait to come back!!

Loved my couple of nights at Mike’s place. Very well set up, peaceful and pristine in a very safe and quiet location. Really appreciated the little things provided so I didn’t have to traipse to shops for milk and cereal etc. I would definitely recommend his place for a stay in Christchurch. Would also recommend a trip to Sumner… I caught the public bus and had a stroll along the beach and up the Flowers Track.

This place was just perfect for us visiting family in Prebbleton. We could easily walk into the village from this peaceful and quiet wee cottage. It was a really comfortable and warm place to stay with a great kitchenette and good parking for our Ute. A modern, clean place with a lovely deck out the front too. Great value for money.

A very relaxing and tranquil getaway with all the home comforts. Bed and linen were very comfortable. The twin baths on the deck were a nice vantage point for stargazing. We enjoyed a bottle of wine from the cellar door with a cheese board while we watched the sunset from the private deck. Can’t wait to come back.

Fabulous spot to stay, you can walk to the local galley and best food cafe and local store. We arrived in a raging storm and pelting rain. Access to the Eco Cottage was terrific as has a covered porch. All modern amenities this self contained cottage complete with heated toilet seat, heat pump and wood log fire was perfect. Surprisingly private with a garden aspect and plenty of glass to admire the view. We were not going out into the storm again that night. We are so thankful to Richard for the fresh farm eggs, a bottle of wine, milk tea and coffee and Scottish fudge which was already there in the well appointed kitchen. We set about making scrambled eggs on our Turkish bread toast with fresh tomatoes and camembert cheese and watched a movie on Netflix with a roaring fire. Big thumbs up Richard from Lou & Howard

The cottages here are great! I stayed for one night when my travel plans changed last minute and it was a great way to get a private room and good amenities for a great price. Couldn’t recommend enough!

What a great place, with peaceful backyard and lovely neighborhood. This place has everything you might need for a great stay and Angela is the sweetest. Highly recommended.

I would say that this home far exceeds the average standards. Ulrike’s home really makes you feel like you are home. The garden is beautiful and overlooks the sea to Lyttelton. Everything inside is aesthetically pleasing, and you can tell that she puts extra care into each individual accent. She really counts for what people might like to do and make sure that the home is full of endless possibilities and suggestions and ways for you to detach from screens and enjoy the space that you’re in. She’s also very communicative and a joy to talk with and share with. Even though the main property is on the same site as the guest house you never feel like your privacy is being invaded. They leave a lot of space for you to explore and to just have peace with yourself and your partner. The grill was an exceptional piece and bonus. We loved making burgers and cooking and the kitchen had everything that you could ask for. It’s just very clear that Ulrike puts a lot of care into their space.

Kathy and Ian are wonderful hosts with warm welcome to breakfast each day surrounded by serene Balinese garden. They were most helpful with local attractions and terrific suggestions for what to do adding to your own research. Great AirBNB stay in CHCH.

Great place for short or long stays. Leah was a lovely and attentive host. The garden is beautiful in summer so it was lovely to just relax in our little oasis. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone. Thanks again Leah!

Great value for money! Liz’s place provided a great base for us to access family in the north of the city, as well as get in and around town for sightseeing. Accommodation was comfortable and communication was excellent. Although grocery shops and cafe are within walking distance, we really appreciated the basic food supplies provided when we arrived. Thanks Liz!

Superb!A house with character and full of amenities, it makes my life easier. Location is private and the beach is just few meters away. Don't miss the sunrise and sunset from the other side of new brighton.
