Cottage vacation rentals in Caledonian Canal

Our stay lived up to high expectations. Ainslie went over and above with decorations for my boyfriend’s birthday; welcome notes; homemade cake; fizz and ice in the fridge. She was warm and welcoming, and we felt completely relaxed. So grateful for such a lovely stay in a beautiful area. We will definitely be back! Thank you Ainslie 🥰🤩🥳

We spent a long weekend here with our three dogs - it’s a wonderful, peaceful, location with plenty nearby walks and only a 10min drive to Crieff where there are local shops and Scotland’s oldest distillery, Glenturret. We had glorious weather (21 sunshine) and made use of the BBQ, outdoor gardens, and hot tub in the evenings. The inside furnishings are full of colour and patterns, and stocked with plenty DVDs and board games to keep you entertained. One thing to note for those who may be looking to book with dogs - the garden is not fully secure as there is no main gate, and the property does boarder fields with livestock, and a few farm buildings which were being used during our stay. If your dog is reactive then this may not be the best location. Our dogs loved being out in the garden, exploring the area, and going on lead walks in the nearby areas (lots of walks are detailed in the host’s book). We’ll definitely be returning!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars! Excellent home in a really peaceful beautiful location. It was easy to find and no issues entering the property. Stunning old house which clearly has a lot of history. The home was well presented and we found it comfortable. All the instructions were clear. The hot tub was excellent and the kids loved it. So peaceful at night. Only a 10 min drive into Alyth where there is a couple of shops, but many many lovely walks about ideal for dogs. The wifi was a bit hit and miss we struggled watching tv as it kept freezing with no signal. However given the rural location this is excepted and didn’t bother us too much. AGA cooker was great a real experience and I’m sure in the winter it’s beautiful and warm. Overall we would recommend the property, my only room for improvement would be looking into the WiFi and potentially adding a better dining table and chairs outside. It would have been lovely to dine outside on some more comfort chairs and better seating. Still 5 stars!

Wonderful place and hosts! Caroline and her husband were wonderful, made our anniversary very special. The wood fired hot tub was such a delight after some long hikes in the mountains and they made sure it was perfectly heated for us each night. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. left is some treats that were amazing and it's just such a cozy cottage. We absolutely loved our stay here.

We stayed here a few days in May. The Cottage is very remote, but you can reach the next village in arround 10 minutes by car. It offers great views of the surrounding area. the hot tub was amazing. Also the fireplace. we came to do some hikes and in the end decided to stay a whole day in the cottage, because it was so great.

We stayed for 2 nights on a girls trip and had the best time. Very peaceful and just what we needed to recharge our batteries!

Such a beautiful little get away with so many little hidden gems nearby! Was quiet 24/7 and we loved the peace and the amount of sun the garden and hot tub got. Such a cosy cottage and made us feel at home straight away, worth the drive! Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

Great host and loved the location and accommodation. Garden was great for the dogs and chilling with a beer and beautiful beach 5 minutes across the road. Locals and neighbours were very friendly Travelled to John ‘Groats, The Black Isle and Nairn during our stay. Highly recommend as either a base for touring or just a peaceful break in beautiful unspoilt surroundings.

This was a lovely place and a very central location. We enjoyed our stay! Everyone was kind and helpful.

We loved this cottage. It is so stylish and comfortable that it gives es a very peaceful and zen feeling from the minute you enter the property. There was a lovely welcome pack for both us and the dogs. It is a great location from which to explore Scone Palace and Balmoral and the Cairngorms. Beautiful. Older or less mobile people would possibly struggle with the stairs but it was absolutely no problem for us.

lovely home, clean, and perfect for staying with a toddler. Train tracks are just behind the house, which might be a problem if you are sensitive to noise but the trains were not so frequent so it was not an issue for us, it even became an entertainment for the toddler!

What a wonderful place to stay . We found the front garden really lovely to sit in and enjoy the outside . The decor is beautiful Lauren and we enjoyed meeting you . Fantastic swimming spot at Feshiebridge Thankyou and we enjoyed Loch Eilein .

Had a lovely stay here quaint cottage ideal location for hiking, with a pub right next door, serving decent food. Cottage well equipped and clean. Excellent communication from the host, who was friendly and approachable. Would recommend and hope to return in the future.

We had a wonderful few days,the Cottage is lovely and modern. South Erradale is so peaceful and the views over too Skye and the Torridon mountains are amazing..even the weather was amazing..🌞

Fantastic cottage on the edge of the beautiful town of Strathpeffer. Fabulous surroundings and easy reach to the glorious highlands. The cottage is in excellent condition and very well equipped although we only used the kettle!! Comfortable inside and a beautiful sunny garden makes this a best value Airbnb in the area. Highly recommended

Great location and stay for us. We decided to travel without our car on train and public transport and bikes. Very easy from Fort William with a bus stop right outside Lonalva. Distillery and Highland soap workshop within 5/10 minute walk for the rainy days! Also recommend the Highland cinema in Fort William. House perfect for what we needed and beds very comfortable. Ann and her husband very helpful so thank you very much! Not at all surprised there’s hardly any availability now for much of the summer!!

Wonderful relaxing stay . Cottage is beautiful, exceptionally clean, has everything you need and more. Cakes, milk and butter in fridge and welcome pack of jam , bread, biscuits and crisps . Enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden , very peaceful surroundings.

Loved so many things about Charlotte’s place…the secret door to the bathroom, the creative, eclectic furnishings, the lovely kitchen with all the necessities, views from the rooms, fun shower heads and just the overall cozy feeling of being in what felt like home.

Wow! What a gorgeous place! Stunning. Spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable, this cottage is an absolute delight - a real home from home and a little bit of luxury after a long day of driving. This cottage gave me the best nights’ sleep on the NC500! Thank you, Alexander, for hosting us - I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Rowan Cottage again.

This is our 4th visit to Railway cottage and it won’t be our last. It’s well placed for driving in to Aviemore, Newtonmore, Kincraig and Kingussie and there are walks you can do from the door. It’s a cosy and welcoming place to stay and very comfortable. There are lots of activities on the nearby estates including quad biking, horse riding, zip wires, canyoning, clay pigeon shooting and archery. Lots of good places to eat too.

Would highly recommend Fiona’s cottage beautiful surroundings and very comfortable beds and settee’s Plenty of activities locally

Easily the best Air BnB experience I've had so far. Jenny and David went out of their way to help. We didn't have a car (which is a necessity in Scotland) which meant we had to rely on public transport. David was kind enough to pick us up from the bus station when we arrived and drop us all the way to the Inverness airport on the way back! The place itself is gorgeous and beautifully maintained! Jenny was also sweet enough to provide all the basics like milk, bread, coffee, eggs etc.
