We rented the entire house for three nights to celebrate New Year’s 2025, and everything exceeded our expectations. Our host, Mr. Emil, was exceptional. He stayed on-site throughout our stay and was incredibly helpful. On our first day, he welcomed us with traditional treats like sarmale, salată de boeuf, țuică, and vișinată. He assisted with setting up the fire, cleaned up after us daily, and ensured we had everything we needed. Despite being present throughout our stay, he respected our privacy and allowed us complete freedom to enjoy ourselves without any interference. The house itself was spotless and beautifully maintained. It was an unforgettable trip, and we’re already looking forward to returning!

The tiny house experience felt like a fairytale! The view was amazing and the house itself was all we wished for - intimate, cozy, beautifully arranged. Raul and Maria are great hosts, always there to provide and take care of whatever need. They are also really friendly and this made us feel actually welcomed. We definitely think of returning some time in the future! 🤗

You won't regret booking it. We went with our 1 year old and we loved it. It's quiet, spacious, extremely clean (we usually have to wipe everything when we arrive, as children touch almost everything. but to our suprize, there was no stain, coloring or anything on a wet wipe, while cleaning the tables, amazing? ). Extra heating available if the fireplace is not enough, which is wonderful. the outside was very nice as it has 100+year old trees and a river! We will definitely come again, as it was exactly the relaxing stay we needed.

My Brother and I visited Romania from the UK for a 3 night stay with the intention of only staying here for a night and spending the remaining nights in Bucharest. Within an hour of arriving we had booked the following nights stay at the cabin as we just didn't want to leave! The location is stunning, situated at the foothills of the mountains with a river running at the rear of the cabin with hammocks, a swing and a hot tub which all make for an extremely peaceful and relaxing stay! Georgeta, Adrian and their son Alex are a wonderful family and fantastic hosts who made us feel at home and settled from the moment we arrived with welcome drinks and tours of the cabin. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality and would highly recommend their place for anyone to stay! Oh, and don't worry about anyone breaking in, pet dog Luna will be there to sleep on the doorstep and keep guard whilst you relax!

Very cozy and clean. The place is great, comfortable bed and beautiful fire place. Went skiing on Transalpina Ski Resort, which is 45 min drive, but beautiful surroundings and amazing views on the way there. Friendly and helpful host. I definitely recommend the place and we will come back, no doubt.

The stay at River Retreat was very pleasant. The tiny house is really very nice with great shower. There is an open kitchen, fireplace with wood and sun loungers directly on the creek. It should also be mentioned that the Transfargarasan passes the property 100 meters past the property, which did not disturb me. The constantly gentle rippling creek is best. In any case, we felt very much at home.

Fridge full of stuff was such a nice surprise! And a bottle of a sparkling wine, sweets on pillows... Such a nice and thoughtful gesture! The host was very responsive and helpful with instructions. If you are nearby you should definitely stay here, it's very cozy.

It was a wonderful experience !!!very quiet place ,beautiful views ,inside the house everything you need,very interesting author's design (combination of old Romanian traditions and modern amenities),nearby grocery market,we were very impressed by the hosts and the accommodation !!!we really want to go back there again ,it was an unforgettable vacation!come and you will never regret it!!! It was a wonderful experience!!! Loc foarte linistit, privelisti frumoase, casa are tot ce iti trebuie, design foarte interesant (combinatie de vechi traditii romanesti si facilitati moderne), in apropiere este o piata alimentara, am fost foarte impresionati de gazde si de cazare!!! We didn't sleep much so we'll be back, it was a dream vacation! You won't regret the wine!!!

Fantastic hosts! If you plan to drive the Transfagarașan I recommend either starting or ending your trip here. The dinner was beyond excellent and the company a welcomed highlight! If they’re available…book it.
