Scenic coastal tour in an expedition Zodiac - Lunenburg
Are you a road-less-travelled kind of person? Would you like to experience a beautiful, less touristy part of Nova Scotia? Join us for a 2-hour coastal tour through Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's back passage — a pristine part of the Atlantic Ocean. Our tour is in a professional, 19-foot Zodiac MilPro HD. These popular vessels are the black, inflatable boats you find on expedition ships around the world. They're also the boats we operate as photographers and guides in Antarctica and the Canadian sub-arctic. So what will we see? It is common to see numerous seals, osprey, great blue herons, various sea birds, mink, and deer as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora and geology as we cruise the area. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia! There are two things we cannot control; wildlife and weather. That said, we keep a close eye on marine weather forecasts and if we have any safety concerns, we will reach out asap. We operate rain or shine so please be prepared to get at least a little wet. We’re not whitewater rafting, but there’s still a very good chance water will come over the bow. Please contact us if you have any questions at all!
ECOTOURS FDWILDFOODS

Sometimes in the woods, sometimes along the ocean, the landscapes will be varied and spectacular, as the products that I will be able to show you and share. A unique experience, 100% nature, that will reconnect with our environment. Other things to note The activity taking place outdoors, it is recommended to bring some clothing for rain.
Three Sisters Sea Kayaking Day Tour
Let me take you kayaking on the world's biggest tides, on the Bay of Fundy. We will paddle in the spectacularly scenic and remote Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Geopark, where North America once separated from Africa, and the evidence is still visible in the cliffs today: Lava flows, fossils, colourful rock formations steeped in indigenous storytelling, and arches to paddle through. A highlight of the tour are the Three Sisters rock spires, which we will kayak through while I take photographic memories to take home. We will stop at a remote beach that used to be one of the busiest shipyards along the Fundy shore during the age of sail. Today, it is a heaven of serenity, where we might find remnants of the past in an old horseshoe or parts of the historic wharf once the tide recedes. Here, we might see a bald eagle fly over, hear kingfishers chatter and see curious seals poke their heads out of the Bay. We settle down on driftwood for a home-made meal fresh from my organic garden. Upon paddling back, the tide will be well into the ebb, so areas where we previously paddled through are now sitting high and dry - an incredible sight. The paddling time both ways is about 1.5 hrs, with an hour for the picnic. I will provide all the gear needed, food, photos and instructions on how to paddle and steer the kayaks, and am a certified kayaking guide.

Weave A Lobster Rope Mat
Don't see the date you want? Reach out and inquire about options. Grab a partner and learn how to weave an upcycled lobster rope mat using colourful float rope and a jig. All lobster rope has been rescued from local beaches, wharves and fishers. It's been pickling in the ocean for years so the colours you weave with are the colours you'll have forever - no fading. Plus, you might get lucky and find a piece that has whale markers in it for an extra cool story to tell about your work of art. These durable and maintenance-free mats can stand the test of time while adding a wonderful touch of colour to the front door of your home, tent, RV! The weave allows dirt, mud and snow to easily drop through the mat and the rope material itself is resistant to mold and mildew. A quick spray with the hose and air drying is all that is needed to keep your mat clean. We're located right by Martinique Beach, Nova Scotia's longest white sand beach, so add a beach walk to your day on the eastern shore.
Learning How to Create a Hooked Rug on the Cabot Trail
The 100th anniversary of the famed “Cheticamp Hooked Rug” is fast approaching. These rugs, once made to warm the floors, eventually became a source of family income. The women in the area would hook throughout the year and during the quiet Winter months some of the fisherman and lumberjack husbands would join them. It quickly became a cottage industry. This craft has now become a well-known art medium sold across the world as the Chéticamp-style hooked rugs. Come share in this little piece of our local Acadian history by participating in one or more classes offered to all. The classes are available to people of all levels; from those who have never held a “hook”, to those who wish to perfect their skills. Come join us once or as often as you desire. Some classes we have local recognized “hookers” joining us. Tuesday days 130-300 and 6-730 night classes are held at Le Conseil des Arts Père Anselme Chiasson (located at the school next to the church, 15118 Cabot Trail, Chéticamp). For a more private class, all other classes are held in my home. Individual classes at $75. We do offer group rates for a minimum of 6 people. Learn a new art form while having loads of fun!
