Nautical Front Door Makeover
Spend the afternoon learning sailor's knots and how to weave with lobster rope!
In this exciting workshop, participants will create 3 pieces of art from reclaimed lobster fishing rope for a nautical front door makeover.
- classic buoy style wreath
- rustic door knocker
- door mat
CLASSIC BUOY WREATH
Weave a classic buoy-style wreath using a traditional 2-toned pattern. The wreaths will utilize colourful upcycled lobster fishing rope and adorned with nautical treasures.
This long lasting weather-resistant piece of art will brighten any door.
RUSTIC DOOR KNOCKER
Learn to splice lobster rope into a beautiful multi colour pattern and affix with boat-themed hardward to create a beautiful door knocker.
It also works as a hand towel holder!

Trinity Whale watching by Zodiac
We will travel from the historic harbour of Trinity, among the oldest harbours in North America to Green Island to see Arctic Terns, nesting Bald Eagles passing our historic lighthouse and Fort Point, site of a 1750 shipwreck. Our trip will be viewing whales potentially from leaving harbour until our return. Newfoundland has one of the largest migrating groups of feeding humpback whales in the world travelling from places in the Caribbean and the southern regions of the North Atlantic. We also have Minke, Sperm, Fin and Orcas seen on our tour route as well as Leatherback Turtles, Northern Gannets, Shearwaters, Cormorrants, Ducks, Loones and many other species of birds. They all migrate to feed on the annual spawning Capelin mass that return to give rebirth to their numbers in the shallows around Newfoundland and Trinity Bay in particular. We will scoop up these small fish to give you some idea of their mass and their numbers.
We will visit Pigeon Cove and Bonaventure head where up to 150 Bald Eagles have been sighted in the peak of the season in this area. We will visit a sea cave and a Puffin Rookery where thousands of the birds can be viewed. Oh yeah did I mention icebergs?

Three Sisters Sea Kayaking Day Tour
Let me take you kayaking on the world's biggest tides, on the Bay of Fundy. We will paddle in the spectacularly scenic and remote Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Geopark, where North America once separated from Africa, and the evidence is still visible in the cliffs today: Lava flows, fossils, colourful rock formations steeped in indigenous storytelling, and arches to paddle through. A highlight of the tour are the Three Sisters rock spires, which we will kayak through while I take photographic memories to take home. We will stop at a remote beach that used to be one of the busiest shipyards along the Fundy shore during the age of sail. Today, it is a heaven of serenity, where we might find remnants of the past in an old horseshoe or parts of the historic wharf once the tide recedes. Here, we might see a bald eagle fly over, hear kingfishers chatter and see curious seals poke their heads out of the Bay. We settle down on driftwood for a home-made meal fresh from my organic garden. Upon paddling back, the tide will be well into the ebb, so areas where we previously paddled through are now sitting high and dry - an incredible sight.
The paddling time both ways is about 1.5 hrs, with an hour for the picnic. I will provide all the gear needed, food, photos and instructions on how to paddle and steer the kayaks, and am a certified kayaking guide.
