Anita, Juan’s mother, was the best host ever. She was very friendly, greeted us with a kind smile, and it was great to talk to her. She prepared a delicious breakfast for us and we talked for hours at the dining table as if we were family members. We felt right at home. Also, we had a great view from the second floor balcony. It was so peaceful! If we are ever back in Cartago, we know where to stay.

Todo estaba tal cual lo describen. Una excelente opción para pasar la noche!!! Yo compartí poco con ellos puesto que andaba todo el día fuera pero cero quejas!!! Muy amables y serviciales!!

If you are expecting a 5 star hotel do not go here. If you are expecting an experience, amazing food, no AC, cold showers, no iron or hair dryer and an amazing rural farm experience that you will never forget then this is the place to go. Extremely good, honest, hard working people. They feed you almost everything they grow or raise and give you the same food they eat or feed their kids. Mary Luz is an amazing person and a great cook. Plenty of other options available in the area to get a farm experience but if you also want a foodie experience then this place is it. As everyone has said rough roads but we had a good suv and got there in 20 minutes after we turned off highway 32. For some people it may take 45 minutes. Expect to get woken up with birds and roosters making a racket around 5:30 am.

I had such a wonderful few weeks at Bogana Haus! It’s the first time I’ve shared an Airbnb yet it’s the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. The home is absolutely beautiful and truly feels like an oasis in the city. So much thought and detail clearly went into creating the space. The neighborhood is fairly quiet (although I would recommend ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper) and I enjoyed going for morning walks. It’s also a pretty easy walk to the city center. I can’t leave a review with mentioning the amazing Paula. Not only does she keep the house immaculate, but she’s also so friendly, funny, and helpful. I was sick for a couple of days and she made me fresh lemon and ginger tea twice a day! I think my one regret is not taking advantage of her breakfasts more regularly during my stay. I highly recommend Bogana and look forward to staying again:)

This was a great place to stay, we would definitely do it again! The communication process before arrival was good. The caretakers were very friendly and very helpful. The house was huge, luxurious, and had amazing views. All and all our family had a great couple of days at the house. Having said all of that, there were a few cons: -The road to get to the place was horrible, it was muddy with a lot of potholes. -There are chickens in the back yard. Some people might like that, but the rooster would crow in the middle of the night and wake us up. -The house was "surface" cleaned, but it could definitely use a deep clean. The fridge was dirty, there was a lot of dust and dirt under furniture, etc.

El departamento es hermoso, muy limpio y cómodo. Me voy muy feliz con la atención y hospitalidad de Vanessa, volvería nuevamente sin dudarlo. La zona queda en el centro de San José por lo que es bastante accesible si en tus planes está conocer el centro, museos, mercados y parques. Hay lavadora y secadora lo que es bastante funcional. Excelente alojamiento!

Mi experiencia en este alojamiento fue increíble, recomiendo hospedarse aquí si están buscando un lugar acogedor, cómodo, limpio y con un servicio muy atento. Hay muchas comodidades, el área es muy segura y tranquila lo cual permite tener una estancia relajante para poder renovar energía ya que aldedor es montaña. Las habitaciones están muy bien equipadas sin embargo a la par de las habitaciones hay un Restaurante delicioso para poder desayunar. Lo super recomiendo y sin duda volveré a alojarme.

Our stay was incredibly beautiful. The staff provided a warm welcome. On arrival, the place was well. Loved and taken care of. And the breakfast was so delicious! Would recommend staying with Xin!

This B&B is gorgeous!!! The room was comfortable with an in suite bathroom. There’s a terrace where you can relax that’s absolutely stunning. I ordered dinner the night I stayed and it was delicious, as was the breakfast (huge portions). Laurie was helpful in arranging airport transfer which was only a 15 minute drive from her place. It’s a quiet neighborhood and great place to stay if you want to be near the airport or away from the craziness of downtown San Jose.

Ruth and Andrea are absolutely wonderful hosts, very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and activities. The bed is super comfy, and you get to wake up with a breathtaking view. It’s one of the highlights of our trip! I hope to be back one day!

The host was very helpful and let me check in early. She spoke english well enough that communication was easy and she was very responsive to questions that I had. If you are going to the Basilica which is the main attraction in town the location could not be better. The Basilica is directly across the street and the breakfast area has a good view of it. I could not believe that they served breakfast as a part of this very low priced, very clean and comfortable room. I will book it when I come back! It is also only about a $60 dollar taxi ride to the airport on an uber so its ideal place to spend both the first night or two in country and when exiting.

Pleasant, clean and good service. We were allowed to stay in the room until the afternoon at no extra charge. Thank you!

Miejsce znajduje się w spokojnej okolicy, można czuć się bezpiecznie i zaledwie 10 minut do większego centrum handlowego. Śniadania kontynentalne przepyszne, obsługa życzliwa, uśmiechnięta i wspierająca gości. Pokoje czyste, zadbane. Jeżeli wrócimy do San Jose to także do Casa Lima. :)
