Places to stay in Nymboida

Places to stay in Nymboida
Black Mountain was devastated in the November 2019 and is currently unsuitable for guests. We managed to save the Ant Shack but have no water and the forest is badly burnt. I will re-open bookings when we have restored a little of the amenity
You will come here to enjoy the sheer beauty of the place; not just the accommodation. Wide verandas give views to adjacent rain forest and through the trees to the Nymboida River which flows 50 meters below. The `Ant Shack' is basic, hand built, quaint and recycled. We recently extended and there are now two spaces: Living: Kitchenette with 3 ring gas stove, sink and cupboards stocked with all utensils you need; tables, chairs and a sofa-bed couch for comfort and for your extra guests. Retiring: Queen bed and bunks (linen supplied); comfy chair and desk for creative pursuit. Relax - there is no electricity, no internet and no mobile phone reception. We supply rechargeable solar lights, candles and lamps, ice-filled eskies to keep your food fresh and Nymboida rainwater for drinking. The outdoor area includes an open camp fire (firewood supplied), tables benches and chairs. Shared amenities are close by with piping hot showers and environmentally sensitive compositing toilets. There are also four campsites near the Ant Shack - Eagles Nest, Myrtle Terrace, Platypus Leap and (Spangled) Drongo Dell. These areas can be booked through Youcamp.
Nymboida is a small village with many alternative people who love the solitude of the bush. The Community Hall is a hub for getting together with fortnightly markets and social functions throughout the year.
  • The place is fantastic. Literally 30 seconds away from the creek where you could kayak or swim. Having no electricity didn’t bother myself or my girlfriend. In fact, we didn’t need it at all. Definitely a great place to unwind and relax. Couldn’t have picked a better spot or a better host.

  • This place was unreal. I nearly don't want to write a review so no one else can find out about it hahaha. Make sure you check what is and isn't included so you know what the space is, but in saying that me and my wife had the absolute best stay here ever, loved the place, can't speak highly enough of it.

  • Had a superb time at the Ant Shack in Nymboida. The place is as advertised, amazing shack next to the river. No electricity or phone reception for the ultimate off the grid get away. The running water, comfy beds, hot shower and gas stoves made it a comfortable step above camping. Alastair was a great host, super friendly while giving me the privacy I needed. Thanks again for the trip mate, hope to see you again soon.

  • My wife and I were looking for peaceful getaway for the long weekend, and Ant Shack is just that. The lush green forest, breathtaking views, a calming river, a cute romantic cabin in the middle of the national park which is thoughtfully stocked up with all the essentials you'll need. This place rated beyond our expectation. It is a must see place. We had only a two wheel drive but Merryl was kind enough to lend her four wheel drive. Merryl invited us for tea at her beautiful house. Thanks a lot Merryl for your hospitality and also ideas for our next vacation. We shall see you soon Merryl.

  • We had the perfect get away at Merryl and Alistair’s property. Couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to get engaged! Loved seeing Alistairs pottery, bushwalking on the property and visiting the local Nymboida markets. We also enjoyed cooking on the cast iron stove and in the fire pit. We will be back soon! • Well, what a fabulous place! Is The Ant Shack the worlds best kept secret? Immediate access to the Nymboida River is a kayakers dream with a cold beer, a feed and a hot shower after a day of quality white-water mere metres from the river edge. It doesn't get better than that... and a comfy bed; oh yes! We loved the veranda for birdwatching and river surveying. Great hosts too!

  • Well Worth the Trip We had a wonderful time in a truely beautiful location. The accommodation was exactly as we expected - clean, cosy and with great amenities. I can’t remember the last time that I slept so well. Merryl and Alastair were superb hosts who provided just the right mix of company and solitude. They’ve done an amazing job restoring and regenerating this highly sensitive remnant range-land, important to species and river conservation. If you are looking to enjoy some peace and quiet in a spectacular remote, natural setting, then you will love this place. So rejuvenating. Next time I will bring my paints and canvas.

    Flannel2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t rate it high enough. The little shack was great and the extra touches were unexpected. Merely and Alistair are just wonderful people.

So easy to communicate with and made the whole process so simple. The cabin is much bigger than the photos show, and very clean. So comfortable to stay in - will definitely come back and stay next time we are in the area.

The sound of water bubbling over rocks comes up from the valley below, bird watching is very rewarding and for early risers, beautiful vistas of mountains with mists settling in the hollows. So green and lush it is almost a mirage. Absolutely recommended.

  • We ( = couple + small dog ) stayed at Studio 21 for one night on our way to Brisbane. It was a very cozy and super clean studio.Karen was very friendly and welcomed us with a big smile. Huge plus for us was that it was pet friendly. House was fully fenced so it was very safe for our dog. Also Karen generously offered us to use the deck and the backyard. Studio came with wifi and Netflix which was handy. They also served us bread & butter, eggs and milk for breakfast.

  • Light and airy, with huge verandahs that made it feel more spacious than just a room. So much better than a motel - and although it was very dry, we enjoyed sitting out on the verandah having breakfast and watching the lorokeets feeding.

  • This location is secluded and a bit of a drive but is absolutely worth the drive. We loved seeing a completely different side of Australia. Really got to see nature. Just sitting outside and listening to the animals is an experience. If you are a family it will really help your family get closer and enjoy each other’s company. They left us a awesome welcome brekkie basket with local food. Huge space with a fireplace to keep you warm for the cold nights. Unclear about where to park and no Wifi but for this location I think that’s a good thing.

  • We stayed at Dee’s place on route from Noosa to Sydney. It was a really well priced option and perfect for what we needed. The area itself is stunning, and the locals were all so hospitable. The property is full of wildlife and was super green and peaceful. Would stay again.

    Kristy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Dee's place was excellent. Thoughtfully decorated with lots of nice touches. As a keen driver I loved the road to get there from Coffs but be aware the road to Dorrigo has a fair bit of gravel but in the right vehicle still a really nice drive. Dee and her family were lovely and excellent hosts. Given half a chance to return and I definitely will. Highly recommended.

    Fabian2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just amazing cabin, super thoughtful little details. Communication and helpfulness was super duper - thank you Dee. Pictures don’t do this place justice. And super accommodating with our late check in and there’s wallabies everywhere !! A cool outdoor bath and a fence around the cabin which was perfect for our pup overnight. Really top place.

  • Dee's cabin was excellent! In a very quiet and pristine location, yet close to Coffs Harbour. The cabin was super clean and cosy, and Dee had left us a range of breakfast provisions (milk, butter, cereals, bread, jam, eggs). It was so nice sitting out on the deck in the evening. We had our dog too and there was a fully fenced yard around the cabin for him to stay in. We highly recommend staying at the cabin!

    Yoland2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Aston retreat cabin was beautiful and very comfortable and the location is peaceful away from cities hustle bustle. We hoped that we had more time to stay at Dee’s place. I will highly recommend it to anyone wanting stay in the Coffs Harbour region.

Our charming cottage is located a short walk from the main street of Dorrigo with great views of surrounding farmland . It has a wood burner and air conditioner for comfort. Dorrigo is a friendly country town with some interesting local shops and great cafes. It is surrounded by National Parks and waterfalls. Whether you want to explore the local natural attractions, attend any of the festivals or events on offer or just simply to curl up with a good book, Kurrajong is the ideal home base.
  • Lea-Anne’s beautiful cottage ‘Kurrajong’ was a ‘home away from home’. Well appointed with everything you need including a fully supplied kitchen and helpful tips about the area. Lea-Anne was a great communicator and most helpful. Outstanding furnishings and super clean, Kurrajong is super comfortable!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dorrigo is a beautiful little town, well worth a visit and Lea-Annes place is the perfect place to stay.

    Robyn2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as we opened the door, we felt welcome. Its cool, stylish interior embraced us. Kurrajong had everything we needed...lots of space, assorted arts and furnishings, fabulous hot showers after a long trek in the National Park and chairs on the veranda to enjoy a cool drink or dinner at the end of the day. Looking forward to returning in winter so we can try out the fire!!

    Louise2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • When we opened the front door we were blown away by just how amazing this house is. It's one of the most stylish places I've ever stayed, with so many original and elegant touches to the decor - even better than it looks in the photos. The location is also great - a few minutes' walk to the centre of town but with a gorgeous outlook over fields at the back. It has everything you could possibly need for a short stay, except wifi, although we didn't feel that we needed the internet for entertainment with the large collection of DVDs and magazines on offer. Very highly recommended.

    Sarah2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Lea-Anne and Phil was a five-star accommodation and we could not have expected to celebrate the new year anywhere else. As such, it is one of the best AirBNB accommodations we have ever stayed in. We star gazed in the large back yard till late in the night. It was a totally refreshing atmosphere. We will surely return if opportunity presents. Thank you, Lea-Anne and Phil.

    Viswanath2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lea-Anne is a great host and thought about all the details. The house is fully renovated and amazing inside and outside. Will be back.

    Thiago2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to explore Dorrigo and beyond. The house was very well decorated. One of the cleanest AirBNBs we have ever stayed in! Highly recommend.

    Chris2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third stay at Lea-Anne’s place. It is always such a pleasure, the house is immaculate and comfortable. Everything is just as described or better and Lea-Anne goes above and beyond to ensure every detail has been taken care of. The location is ideal for exploring Dorrigo and surrounding areas, you can’t go past it. I’ll definitely be back!

Cockatoo Cabin is a newly refurbished cabin that welcomes guests to relax and unwind. Nestled among the rolling green hills of the famous Dorrigo plateau, the cabin is situated adjacent to Bielsdown Creek and has beautiful creek views and a bush aspect. If you're keen to explore the Dorrigo World Heritage Rainforest (Skywalk Lookout) and surrounding sights and townships or prefer to simply be still and rediscover your creativity and calm then Cockatoo Cabin is a must!
Cockatoo Cabin, part of the Dorrigo Waterfall Cabins group, is conveniently situated a few minutes drive from the Dorrigo township centre and only a few hundred metres downstream from the spectacular Dangar Falls. At Dangar Falls, an 8-10 minute easy walk down a secure boardwalk takes you to the bottom where the big pond is a very popular swimming spot. Competent swimmers can even swim over to the waterfall, sit underneath it and let the waterfall cascade over your shoulders – wow! Guests have the entire cabin to themselves, access to a brand new, well equipped kitchen, as well as to a BBQ on a large private deck situated practically on top of Bielsdown Creek. Sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of running water and wildlife – including the distinctive local black cockatoo squawk. You simply won't find another place like this in Australia.
Guests will have no choice but to relax in the tranquil surroundings. There are lots of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants in the Dorrigo township itself, or after a busy day of exploring, return to the cabin and crank up the BBQ for a relaxing meal on your own private deck with a view! (There are two well stocked supermarkets in town which you drive past to get to us).
  • Fantastic communication from the hosts. Nestled in nature. Beautiful garden surrounds. Private cabin overlooking running waters. Fall asleep to the sound of a real waterfall. Highly Recommend.

  • We spent a very nice time in this excellent accommodation. We lacked for nothing. The surroundings are worth seeing (Wonga Track in Dorrigo NP, swimming in the Danger Falls) and the hosts are very friendly, cordial and sooo multicultural. What a joy! :-)

    Karin2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location perfect cottage, clean, tidy best host’s we have come across. If you want to get away and relax with you partner best place ever. If you also have some fur babies even better, room for them to sleep out if they want to in the heat, swimming and walking (rock hopping) everywhere and the cottage is really setup for pets.

    Pete2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time. It was so nice and relaxing even Pablo (our little Frenchie) loved it. Only thing my husband wished was a bigger dvd selection so he could binge on movies all night haha but other than that it was great! Thank you for being such an amazing host. Your hospitality has been one that we would never forget and definitely recommend.

    Caroline2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little cabin on the water, great to escape the hustle n bustle of the real World. We can happily recommend a stay here.

    Scott2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful and amazing location, you will not want to leave! Leen was so kind and attuned, she was always available to help-with my bags and made a special effort to warm the place for my stay just for examples. My dog beyond loved the place. There is also a great walk in town a short drive away that is dog friendly, but enough space around for dogs to play themselves! No reception is actually such a gift, I felt so connected and balanced by disconnecting in the cabin and tuning into nature. I could easily download something to watch in the evening during the day nearby (my laptop and hdmi cable to TV) but I found myself enjoying reading and doing yoga more! I loved this space-simple, natural light, comfy bed and waking up to the flow of water-Devine! Enjoyed cooking yummy meals with the organic fare I collected in Bellingen kn the way in-it was like a meditation in the kitchen here. Will be coming back for an extended retreat:) super! So grateful!

  • If you are looking for the ultimate farm stay. This is your place. The host were incredibly warm and welcoming, with a beautiful breakfast hamper on arrival. Beautiful waterfalls and creek around the property to swim in. We didn’t want to leave. We will be back :)

    Jessica2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazingly relaxed and comfortable week at Blue Wren Cottage. Tricia and Paul are great hosts, really friendly and helpful. While the cottage is on their property and they live next door, it feels very private and secluded. The cottage itself is very roomy and nicely decorated, it is also insanely well-equipped having everything one could need. We really appreciated the thoughtful extra touches, from the generous breakfast hamper and wine, to the spare toothpaste left for guests - perfect as we had forgot to bring ours! The surrounding farm and property is beautiful, and the nearby towns of Dorrigo and Bellingen are really cute and has many great cafes and little shops to offer. We would most definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a little time-out from city life, while staying nice and comfortable in a beautiful setting.

    Jenny2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Waterfalls were great. Perfect for a couples retreat where you just want to relax and reset. Loved our little getaway, will become a regular for us.

    Jace2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10! The best AirBnB / farm stay we have ever done! Paul & Patricia were incredibly kind, thoughtful and attentive. They allowed us to check in very late at night, provided us with an amazing breakfast hamper which lasted 3 days (bacon, farm fresh eggs, bread, mushrooms, tomatoes) and a bottle of wine! On their enormous property they have access to a private river with 3 waterfalls - I cannot explain to you how amazing swimming in the waterfall area is - photos do not do it justice! We have travelled all over the world and swimming in that private grotto was an experience we will dream about for years to come! We will definitely be back! Thank you for such a fantastic experience :)

    Mark2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Without doubt, the best Airbnb experience we have had. Tricia and Paul are very generous and thoughtful hosts. They really thought of everything, and went above and beyond in making our time away special and memorable. We hope to come back another time soon!

    Tom2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia and Paul’s place was exactly how they have advertised and in person much better! From the hot tub to the bath tub it was truly a relaxing experience and was set amongst the most beautiful property! Although they live next door we had ultimate privacy and it felt like there weren’t people around for miles. Tricia was very helpful on arrival and told us about some walking tracks to go and do and we came across some beautiful waterfalls. The breakfast hamper was also amazing and the fresh eggs from the chooks that are very friendly and walk around freely was a great touch! I would definitely recommend to come and stay here and I would definitely come back!

We had great pizzas and even better ribs at “Grafton pizza and ribs”. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to wake up in the morning this is the spot!

There is an inside fireplace for cold mountain nights and all the modern conveniences such as air conditioners and "Alexa"and a mega blast speaker which can be used outside. The kitchen is well-stocked and very functional. There are three outside dining areas with a very large lawn and many walking tracks. It's a great place for friends and family reunions.
  • WOW. This house is just beautiful! The entire property is so picturesque. The main bedroom is spacious and has gorgeous high ceilings. We found all the appliances, pots and pans we needed in the kitchen to make breakfast and dinner. The property is very well kept and extremely clean. Highly, highly recommend, would love to bring my family here in the future for a little getaway. Stop looking, this is the place to book.

  • We cannot rate John's hospitality high enough. This home is not just what you see in photos, but instead a beautiful, warming, charming, luxurious, relaxing, romantic home away from home!! The abundance of wildlife, and stunning lush surrounds, waking up to the sounds of rosellas twittering, the resident peahens and their chicks greeting you by the door for breakfast, lighting the fireplace, relaxing in the undercover spa in the patio, or large spa off the main bedroom. This cabin exceeded all expectations, the layout is like a private mountain retreat. We walked in and were greeted by a hot bubbly spa, classical music, fresh picked flowers set out in vases, pantry stocked and wine glasses at the ready. The rain on the tin roof and the scenery of surrounding lime trees and abundant gardens with beautiful flowers. Enough about the home! We could go on forever!! But John! Thank you!! Without John's thoughtful and caring nature, we would probably still be stuck in our 4x4 in the middle of a National Park in the rain and mud, thank you for saving our bacon and organising for us to be rescued. WE WILL BE BACK! ❤️❤️

  • This a beautiful house in a lovely quiet location. So easily could have stayed longer.

  • An absolutely stunning place - both inside and out. The property takes up its own little valley which is full of sculptured landscape and ponds. Whilst its completely isolated its also only 12 minutes drive from Dorrigo and the amazing Dangar Falls pool and the Rainforest walks. We loved our stay !

  • My favorite Airbnb to date. If you’re traveling from overseas, you absolutely have to stay here. It’s a must. If you’re a local, this should be your new “go-to-getaway.” The property is gorgeous, and you can explore the grounds at your leisure. The peacocks roam around and visit with you. The wild birds come to the feeder and don’t mind that you’re sitting outside at the table playing a game with your family and having wine and cheese. We walked over to the river (you can drive to it too, if you aren’t feeling up to the walk or if you want to picnic but don’t want to lug everything down to the river...it’s not that far though). We could have stayed at John’s river all day. It’s gorgeous. If you’ve got kids, they can play on the river boulders and swim. The water was warm. I expected it to be freezing and was surprised. We skipped rocks, climbed river boulders, saw a kangaroo, and raced sticks down the river. So yes, I was Christopher Robin for a day and after seeing Roo, I couldn’t help but look for Piglet and Pooh. I didn’t want to leave. We also went to the Dorrigo Rainforest National Park and did the hike loop to the two waterfalls. Again, if you’re traveling from overseas, this is a must. It’s gorgeous and John’s Airbnb is the perfect place to stay for visiting this breathtaking rainforest. We just left the Airbnb yesterday, and I already want to go back. I want to go back to the house at Pooh Corner.

  • John's place is amazing and comes with lots of great touches. Rarely you come to a place that has a fresh flower bouquet from the garden! Great for watching wildlife. Comfy beds. Lots of space to sit and relax.

  • Everything looked clean, fresh and new. The little balcony catches a nice afternoon breeze and the outlook down the long, sloping backyard is very peaceful. Breakfast was plentiful and the kitchen well equipped. We only stayed one night. Bedding is a normal bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was fine for two kids. Very good value for money.

  • We had a great stay at this B&B and would highly recommend it as a great place for R&R, especially if having kids - we really appreciated all the little touches the hosts provided, especially the 'breakfast' of bacon, eggs, bread & milk - this was unexpected and as we had no supplies very thoughtful. The apartment itself is very modern, clean and had fantastic amenities. Of particular enjoyment was the balcony from which you could sit & enjoy the rural scenery while eating a meal or knocking back a beverage! This was truly a 'B&B experience'!

    Risa2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Super well put together place, in relaxing location, with a great host. We only stopped over but were impressed with the way the place was designed- attached to the main residency yet completely private, with a peaceful outlook to the trees and the river beyond. David was a very friendly and helpful host, and the brekky provisions were huge. An excellent stopover on our return trip to Brisbane, thanks David.

  • Jen’s place was wonderful...the kids had a ball. It’s sooooo spacious, heaps of room to spread out and chill. Kids loved the pool - so thoughtful to have inflatables to use too. Kitchen was well stocked and easily had enough utensils to cook meals for the family.

    Katie2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • So much better than I expected. House was very spacious and clean, but what was most impressive were the incredibly thoughtful touches - especially a stocked fridge with eggs, bread, milk, juice etc and even pizzas in the freezer! Also very comfy beds. Both Jen and her mother Kim are very approachable and hospitable, excellent hosts all round. A very enjoyable stay, thanks for having us! This tops our list for that area.

  • It's amazing. It's like a big garden. We took one of our breaks from Sydney to Brisbane and really wanted to stay for another night. Our group of four stayed very spacious with three bedrooms and two large living rooms. The host also provided us with a rich breakfast and will stay there again in the future. Wall crack recommended!

Heritage cottage town centre. Close the gate, private garden with shady verandah, courtyard, garden at the back. Beautiful winter or summer High ceilings, cosy lounge lots of sofas a deep tub to soak away the day. Ambience of yesteryear We have upgraded the space with larger dining table art works and various furniture to make it more homely and inviting. Our photos show new and old pics. I am sure our regular guests will enjoy the difference. Sadly our wood stove has to be replaced by gas.
Step back in time built when the pace of Iife was much slower . Just a note our house is a heritage cottage built prior to 1900 please check out the photos and if you need clarification please ask..if on the other hand you are into streamline new architecture or smick renovations this is not the cottage for you 🤔😎 We love the old cottage which is heritage listed and tried to keep it as authentic as possible. If on the other hand you are into the historical you will feel right at home . It is an Australian cultural experience totally unique to the time it was built and one to be cherished from a time long past. There are two large bedrooms. Bed 1 is a queen four poster. Bedroom 2 also a heritage queen bed. Both beds are comfortable and cosy. We can provide a porta cot and we do have a queen size sofa bed in the lounge. Just ask in advance we are happy to help with sleeping logistics to make your stay comfortable:) (Also happy to answer enquiries for single night stays depending on the season etc) Nb the price quoted is for the is for two beds should you require extra linen for three beds or the sofa bed there will be an extra charge All have duvees and plenty of cosy extras. The lounge is large with very high 15 ft ceilings conveniently heated by an instant gas heater . It is extremely effective and heats the whole house. (We do not recommend it be left on whilst sleeping. There are oil heaters in the bedrooms as well as electric blankets). There is a large screen TV as well as books and games. The sitting room dining room has an extra sofa, the perfect place to curl up with a book. The kitchen is fully equipped with all dishes utensils cutlery etc also has a coffee maker, toaster, microwave as well as a full electric stove complete with oven and four hotplates. The back of the house has a private courtyard which is a lovely sunny spot. Beyond that is a large garden. The front entrance to the house is straight off the main street but totally private. we have no stairs to the main entrance but a ramp. The bathroom is original shower over the deep old fashioned bath. The sink in the bathtub has no hot water but the shower is wonderfully hot. There is a spare wash basin in the kitchen area with hot water. A cottage garden and high hedge give you total privacy whilst being in the centre of town. If you choose you have no need to drive as everything in the town is steps away. Bakery next door supermarket steps away hotel across the road together with many fabulous cafes. The front verandah is a comfortable place to sit and relax in the afternoon sun or indeed as it's covered a great place to watch storms or be outside on the inclement days . We have lots of throw rugs! curl up with a book and a hot cuppa. Check us out on Facie 41 Hickory or destination Dorrigo. Send us a message we are happy to answer any questions. If its a same day booking also enquire sometimes we will be able to organise that :) Kind regards Maria
We love the fact that you do not have to drive once you gave settled in. When you open your front gate you have everything you could possibly require at your fingertips. At the same time close the gate total privacy on the front verandah and in the private courtyard at the back of the property. So many comfy nooks to sit read ponder have a cuppa or wine inside and out of the cottage. We never tire of the seasons in Dorrigo. We love the quirky furniture it is a one of a kind cottage. Many people comment it takes them back to their grandparents house/ time. Easy drive to Dorrigo National World Heritage rain forest centre and Park. Other longer drives Ebor Falls and Cathedral Rock National Park. Dangar Falls also very close to town. On another note we are in the main streets next to a bakery there is some traffic noise and the occasional baking pan crash
  • Charming place! Perfect country cottage for a stay in this beautiful region! Highly recommended.

McLennan’s Lane River Retreat embodies the soul of the Big River country with its idyllic solitude, perfect for a romantic honeymoon hideaway or riverside adventure with your family or friends. Nestled in the natural, rich country, at the end of a secluded lane, guarded by a magnificent fig tree. Set on 40 acres of rolling green pastures. With access to your own boat ramp less than 50 metres from the retreat, you can take your boat/canoe and wet a line, or water ski on the river.
The farm cottage is located on the banks of the mighty Clarence River, 5 minutes out of Grafton township.
  • Andy's cottage is both welcoming and relaxing. Every one of us, including Ben the beagle and 4 teenagers, had a great time. The river, big old fig trees, open paddocks, cottage and wide verandahs offered plenty of options for the kids. Andy is a terrific host. We hope to come again!!

    Carmel2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Forget anything you’ve looked at in this area and just book Andy’s Waterview Cottage. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed! Comfortable, exquisitely restored, well appointed, fishing straight down from the house to the river, so close to town yet so far removed, its perfect! Such a comfortable bed, lovely bathroom facilities, wrap around veranda so you can always find a cool spot. Simple perfect!

    Graham2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andy is an attentive and communicative host. His property is very comfortable and in an idyllic setting - less than 5 minutes to town, but miles from cares....literally on the Clarence river. The photos do not do this place justice....and the fishing is tremendous.

    Sharon2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a clean, comfy and lovely cottage near the Clarence River. We came when the Jacaranda was blooming and Andy’ cottage is around 11-minute driving near the town. Therefore, we can enjoy the peace outside of the town. Since I never lived in a farm before, living here made me feel like a cowgirl 😂, which was awesome! There are actually 3 beds and 1.5 bathrooms in the house. The cows will gather around the cottage in the afternoon, so we can have a close look about them and watch they playing cute. Andy also showed us the owl’s family who living in the big tree near the cottage. In all, I highly recommend this cottage for everyone 💜

    Ming2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here, we woke up to the birds singing in the morning. I suggest you get up as the sun starts to rise, sitting on the wooden bench located under the huge Fig Tree and just listen to the sound of silence with your coffee in your hand, it doesn't get much better than this if you are after tranquility away from the stress of a busy life. We only stayed for two nights but wish had more time. Cute farm cottage lovingly restored.

    Suzanne2019-10-26T00:00:00Z

  • A brilliant stay. Great place for kids and such a great experience. Loved it. A real experience for my city kids. Like owning your own farm. We would do it again and again.

Stylish, air conditioned, 1 bedroom self-contained B&B apartment located on the ground floor of my residence in a quiet street in Grafton. Only 4 minutes drive to CBD. Includes single carport, and separate entry with key security safe for self check-in. Well equipped kitchenette, modern bathroom and laundry facilities; residence has river frontage, heated pool and spa. Accommodation suits professionals for short or longer term stays.
The unit is in a quiet area yet close to the CBD. It would suit professionals with contract work in the area; couples travelling through the region; those in Grafton to visit with family; or attending Grafton's many key event such as Race Week, Jacaranda, Art Gallery openings, concerts, Ski and Dragon boat racing, sailing, rowing and fishing, hockey, netball or football carnivals. The unit accommodates a single adult or a couple and is all on one ground-floor level.
I live in a quiet and friendly street. We are on the river and there is an expanse of riverbank (privately owned) to enjoy the birds, the trees, water activities and the huge river. Grafton is a wonderful older town, with gracious homes, but modern shopping centre, Art Deco picture theatre, a beautiful Art Gallery and lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants. It hosts the Jacaranda festival in October/November, July Horse Racing carnival, numerous soccer and hockey carnivals, the October long weekend Ski race, and training camps for rowing and sailing.
  • Super comfortable and private stay. Thanks and see you next time.

  • The Riverside on Clarance AirBNB accommodation is 100% just what the weary soul needs. The shower was great, the bed was great, the bedding was great, the floor coverings were great, the furnishings were great, the soft furnishings were great and the decorative and utility items were great. Every comfort and convenience has been provided. The host has done everything possible to make your stay completely satisfactory. I give Riverside on Clarence, which is a beautiful location with one of the majestic northern rivers practically in the backyard, 10 out of 10.

  • Nice stay with lots of cooking utensils and neat kitchen, easy for laundry as well. We had all we need in the unit. Lovely and wonderful stay in Grafton.

  • A great place to stay because of the closeness to the town. The provided provisions were really appreciated.

    Barbara2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful pristine clean property. Lots of lovely touches chocolate, fresh flowers, fruit and freshly picked herbs. A fridge & cupboard that was stocked with more than we needed. A comfy home with homely features. A very efficient kitchen including coffee maker. Very nice shower with a great shower head generous with water. Great off street parking, quite location. Wonderful happy, kind and thoughtful hostess. A gorgeous black cat to pat if you wanted. A comfy bed and lovely linen not worn or threadbare. Plenty of room for a couple to stretch out and relax. Did not need the pool, spa or BBQ but it was all there ready to go. Easy of access. This is a lovely quality property in a very nice country town. Helen also provided lots of info about the Clarence Valley region from coast to inland. We were there for the Jacaranda Festival (end October) and were minutes away from the action and beauty of the township. Highly recommend this AirBnB.

  • Helen is such a great host, she is very nice and thoughtful. After knowing we will be there with our baby, she even prepare a baby cot for us. All the food she left for us are saving us a lot of time to go to supermarket. If you want to have a relex time at Grafton, go find Helen.

Thoughtful touches like bread and veges in the fridge, and a stocked pantry exceeded our expectation. David is a very friendly chap and eagerly showed us the farm and provided helpful tips. A sweet 2br federation house that is undergoing ongoing renovation but is perfectly livable as is.
This federation cottage is very typical of local cottages built in the era, we are working on both houses and developing the gardens. It comprises 2 spacious bedrooms, both very comfortably furnished with double beds and various period pieces of furniture, a kitchen/ dining room, a lounge room, a bathroom and laundry and large covered outdoor area at the back of the house. Featuring high ceilings and hardwood lining boards this house is very comfortable. The north facing front verandah provides a great place to enjoy Grafton's mild winter days in the quiet and peaceful street and often has cooling breezes in summer.
The house is in a quiet peaceful surburban street in South Grafton. The Clarence Valley is a beautiful area with many stunning day trips to enjoy.
  • A comfortable, relaxed old-style cottage in a quiet part of the town, with wooden floors throughout the living area and all the necessities for living, including linen, crockery and a washing machine, I found an oasis for myself and my pets at Kathryn's place. There are beautiful gardens, and a huge park 5 minutes walk away that was the perfect place to exercise my dog, and he was allowed inside, which gave me a great sense of comfort. I felt like I was staying at a friends place, the rustic charm of this older house is perfect for me, and the considerate hosts have made me feel so very welcome - I will be returning to stay again very soon!

The view is amazing, whether it be sitting in the spa and getting lost in the picturesque scenery or getting amongst it, and venturing down to the creek and becoming apart of the beauty, this place is perfection. We stayed a week and could have easily stayed longer. The cabin was also perfect, all the little details, you go without nothing. Sandra and Graham are just as beautiful as their property, so easy to get in touch with and speak too. We will be back, thanks for a great stay, Kirsty and Mark
