  • Lovely place and very clean.

  • Louise’s place is a great location. We were able to visit nearby Carrickfergus Castle. We also took a train into Belfast for a visit. The home itself is well laid out with modern conveniences. It is a working farm, so it is interesting to see the tractors and sheep and be out in a rural setting. It was nice and quiet and away from the city, but close to grocery store. The kids loved the great selection of videos. Louise has great travel information. Her instructions to her place were extremely easy to follow. We had some circumstances that didn’t work exactly as planned as far as checking in, but we did get things worked out. We would stay here again.

  • This cottage had everything the 3 of us needed and was a close drive to a pub for food and drinks. Louise and her husband were excellent hosts. We had a friendly greeting upon arrival and their information book had all the info we needed about the place and area.

You can cycle to town from your location and also cycle right around Strangford lough if feeling adventurous ! Picture postcard locations, fresh seafood and good Guinness. All located right here on Strangford Lough. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
  • Amazing little place on a stunning location. Spotlessly clean, could not fault one bit!

  • Had a lovely night staying here with my girlfriend. Gorgeous little studio house, with stunning sea views, perfect for a couple's getaway. The house was very on-trend with its furnishing; light and airy, lots of plants, and nice finishing touches like books and coffee! Marty and Chris have put together a great guest book with tips for the house and ideas for places to visit nearby, which was really helpful. Overall, a fantastic stay here as we started our drive up the Coastal Causeway in Northern Ireland. We wished we could have stayed longer!!

    Tim2020-03-19T00:00:00Z

    Monique2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully situated little place, with all the amenities we needed for our one night stay. My wife and I were celebrating our second anniversary, and my wife loved the location, the views were beautiful. Marty & Chris were great hosts and provided instant responses and were super helpful. One thing, if you’re a very light sleeper be conscious that you may hear the passing traffic.

She was really helpful and the flat had everything need (although we didn’t spend much time there as we were visiting family), so you could easily stay for a few days and cook and spend time in the flat. The space was perfect - quite roomy, so didn’t feel cramped. And the location is brilliant for seeing Donaghadee, with ample space to park outside, which made it so easy! We will definitely be back and would 100% recommend!

  • Sharon’s lovely cottage was just perfect. Stylishly done out with a huge and well equipped kitchen. The whole place was spotless and her little extra touches were so much appreciated. Towels were luxurious and the beds were super comfy. Location of the cottage was great... a few minutes walk into the lovely little town of Donaghadee and a very short stroll to the waterfront. It was a real home from home . Sharon replies to all communication really quickly . I can not recommend it highly enough .

    Jennie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cosy cottage within short walking distance from all local amenities including pubs, cafes, restaurants and a stunning coastal walk which can be as short or as long as you would like. The house itself is in a quiet street with safe parking opposite. The furniture and décor is very comfortable and so easy to live with. Sharon has left little extras that just make the stay even more special - we didn't venture out on a couple of evenings as we brought in some food (the kitchen has everything and is an excellent size) and we ate in the comfort of the living room. It was cold and blustery so we didn't take advantage of the outside area which has a table and chairs. Easy access with regular contact with the host - Many thanks and look forward to the next time

  • Harbour Cottage is an amazing place to stay. Walking distance from the harbour, local shops and a large variety of little restaurants and coffee shops. The cottage is super clean, light and has all your comforts including a well equipped kitchen. Sharon is an excellent host and replies super fast to questions. If yo consider visiting Donaghadee stay at Harbour Cottage.

  • Harbour Cottage is beautiful. It's small but perfectly formed! Sharon has thought of everything. The beds were comfortable and the place is warm and spotlessly clean. It has a fantastic well equiped kitchen space. Definitely a home from home. It's local to the shops and there are some fantastic pubs and cafes closeby to eat in. Can 100% recommend Harbour Cottage and we'd happily stay again! Zero complaints from all 3 of us!

My home is situated 1 mile from the quaint village of Crawfordsburn and 1 mile from Bangor. It is a well presented 3 bed semi detached home within close proximity to a range of tourist attractions and within walking distance to Carnalea Golf Club and many delightful coastal walks. The train halt and bus stop are only a short stroll away to make commuting very easy. The City airport is only a 15 minute drive away and the International 40. Very well behaved dogs are welcome to stay.
The accommodation is a double room with wardrobe space and also use of bedside drawers. There is a TV in the room and tea/coffee making facilities.
Crawfordsburn Cottage is set at the top of a quiet close of 15 houses off the Crawfordsburn Road, Bangor. There is very little traffic - mostly just the residents. The area is a much sought after location to live in in North Down and is a safe neighboourhood.

A spacious four bedroom house in the picturesque seaside town of Donaghadee.
Donaghadee is located on the North Down coast approximately 20 miles from the centre of Belfast, and within approximately 15 miles of Belfast City Airport. As well as providing a convenient location for visiting Belfast and exploring the North Down coast and costal towns, Donaghadee is a great base for families/friends wishing to explore and enjoy the Ards Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Peninsula has the Irish Sea on one side and Strangford Lough on the other with a large variety of stunning scenery. The area has a wealth of outdoor activities, great tourist destinations and quality restaurants in the local area.

  • Absolutely a terrific property! It was even better than the description. We were a party of 6 adults, and we had plenty of room. Just across the street we could access a beautiful walkway right along the waterfront. We could walk (10-15 minutes) to restaurants and shops. We had all the conveniences of home. Anne was a superior hostess. She responded very quickly to all questions.

    Margaret2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • As a party of 7 we stayed in Anne's house in Donaghadee. Lovely little town, with a short commute to Belfast and most major shops near by. Anne came to welcome us on arrival, she was so kind and pleasant - giving us hint and tips. My son loved jumping of the town pier. The house was sparkling clean with lovely bedding and towels etc, the house was a pleasure to stay in. Would most definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you Anne x

The Bach (Ba-tch): 'A bach is a small, often very modest holiday home or beach house in New Zealand.' Wikipedia Soon after we got married and with more time and energy for a new project, we decided to sketch out some ideas to make the most of our space and our sea view - one year later, this is the result. Influenced by that laid-back Kiwi lifestyle and a love of the water, we have created a studio chalet with en suite, kitchenette, living area and private decking and entrance path.
Entirely self built from FSC timber and as many recycled and reclaimed materials as we could source, our Bach is fully insulated; floor, wall and ceiling. Come and enjoy peace, quiet, views, fluffy towels and good coffee. Our devices have mobile signal but WiFi doesn’t reach from our home as yet. One mile outside the vibrant seaside town of Donaghadee and a two minute walk to the golf club, it’s a perfect base for those intent on relaxing by the shore, as well as those looking for something more active (we have bikes you can use and a cycling-fanatic host to help you plan your rides!)
Golf club- 0.5 miles Donaghadee town- 1.5 miles Bangor train station- 6 miles Belfast city centre- 17 miles Belfast city airport- 14 miles
  • A perfect experience different but well worth a stay

  • The Bach is a unique and cosy space convenient to local village, beaches and restaurants. The Bach is fully equipped with everything you need and lots of little extras. Warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. Check in easy with lock key code. Very private and peaceful but hosts available if needed. Highly recommended

  • We had the best time at "the Bach". Such a cute and cosy little spot. Deborah was on hand to answer any questions and added some lovely little personal touches. The bottle of wine was very welcome 😄 and she provided lots of extras for our little one. I highly recommend a stay here, we cant wait to visit again!

  • We had a lovely stay at the Bach. It's a really nice place to stay in such a beautiful little town. Deborah was very pleasant to communicate with and made a real effort to make us feel at home and help us with bikes and stuff we needed. The house has everything you need and it's a very private and cosy, clean place. Thanks Deborah! We'd love to come back and I definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice getaway in Northern Ireland! :)

  • Quaint place, not many of its kind in NI. Clean, tidy and with a very helpful host. Allowed me and my kids a digital detox. We even played mini monopoly. Garden outside allowed the kids to entertain themselves and nearby harbour point had some nice restaurants with good food. Want to come back in the summer when hopefully the weather will be kinder the us.

    Dhirendra2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend staying in this lovely modern beach house, Deborah was very helpful and ensured our time was as smooth as possible. We loved staying here with it being so close to the town centre also.

  • We really enjoyed our retreat with a view. Didn’t leave the bach for the duration. Tastefully decorated, warm and spacious; the perfect spot for a weekend getaway! Nice touches such as snacks and fresh flowers from friendly and responsive hosts. The orientation of the bach provides excellent privacy, great view, and plenty of natural light. We will come back.

There is free on street parking on church lane and a garage for bikes or motorcycles. The property has been recently renovated to include all of its original architectural features and finished with all modern amenities. Facilities: fibre broadband, washer and dryer, TV, dishwasher, bath, walk-in shower, garage
The apartment is in the centre of Donaghadee above the beautiful ‘Hair Emporium’ hair salon. Access to the apartment is on church lane which runs between the salon and Bridewell cafe. Guests have exclusive access to the apartment, a garage for storage of motorbikes, bikes, prams, sports equipment etc. Through the garage there is access to a small private courtyard.
Donaghadee is a thriving seaside town with some exceptional restaurants and cafes. There is a beautiful harbour with an iconic lighthouse and the historic ‘Moat’ castle. Donaghadee also has a lovely beach and many parks and play areas for children, our favourite being on ‘The Commons’ where children and adults alike can enjoy the park and the public gym apparatus that lines the path through the green. Donaghadee is perfectly located for easy access to Bangor, Belfast and many of the key ‘Game of Thrones’ filming sights.

  • My family and I loved our short stay in Donaghadee. The apartment is in a fantastic location in this bustling and vibrant village and close to some lovely little cafes, shops and the beautiful harbour. The apartment is immaculate, furnished to a high standard, really comfortable and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back! Thank you Fay and Errol.

  • I rented this apartment for my visiting daughter and her family to stay. They were very comfortable. The space is beautifully presented, spacious and spotlessly clean. The location is very convenient for all amenities being in the heart of Donaghadee. It is a bustling small town so you won't get complete peace and quiet but we enjoyed the apartment very much and wouldn't hesitate to return.

The Book House is certified by Tourism NI, and a continental breakfast is included in your price. At least one family member will be resident throughout your stay. Our home is spacious and modern, an ultra energy-efficient Certified Passive House on a working farm. It's a perfect location for a country retreat, while also being close to the historic coastal town of Bangor and only 20 minutes from Belfast City Airport.
Enjoy browsing our numerous books, play our piano or get creative on our blackboard wall! The house has views over the fields, and is within easy walking distance of Crawfordsburn village, with its famous Old Inn and the new Loaf pottery and coffee shop. There is access through the village to Crawfordsburn Country Park and the extensive coastal path.
  • We stayed two nights at the Book House. The room is lovely, well outfitted, and with a nice attached full bathroom. Helen and Patrick were great hosts and we quite enjoyed getting to know them. The home is welcoming, and the breakfasts were delicious. We were within a quick drive of Belfast, so while it was convenient to the city you still had a quiet country experience. When we are next able to come to Northern Ireland we will be sure to stay here again!

  • If you're lucky enough to find Janet's place available to book, snap it up quick! The home is adorable, comfortable and a perfectly situated base point for your plans. Janet is a well experienced and lovely host - if she could own a home in every future destination I plan to visit that would be great. ;) I read many reviews before booking, and all the glowing ones are totally accurate. Check in was super flexible and Janet answered all questions I had before arriving almost immediately, and checked in via email while we were there just to ensure we were ok and had all we needed. We brought our family dog too who is always part of our holidays, and it was easy to take her outside especially with the gorgeous views of the abbey and church right across the street. Some reviews mentioned road noise and I suppose you'd notice it during the day, but we brought a table fan of our own (and of course Janet supplied one too!) we usually use at home for white noise and it wasn't an issue at all. I'm a fairly light sleeper so that's saying something. The only improvement imaginable is to come back during the summer when the flowers will be in total bloom and the patio furniture would get some use in the sun. :) If we find ourselves back in that area in the future, I'd definitely book this place again!

You can also drive along Belfast Lough to the picturesque town of Donaghadee (15 minutes away) with its lovely harbour, lighthouse, coffee shops, seafood restaurants and recently opened Copeland Distillery. The town of Bangor (20 minutes away) has a large marina, great selection of shops and a large marina with “Pickie Park” popular with young children for its train ride, miniature golf and giant swan rides. Castle Espie a bird sanctuary run by the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust is within easy reach for a days outing and has a great outdoor adventure park. The Ulster Flying club at Newtownards Airport (7 miles) offers pleasure flights down the lough. We also recommend a visit to the pretty National Trust village of Kearney, just outside Portaferry (great for rock pooling). Other Attractions.... All the major attractions of Northern Ireland are accessible including Belfast just 30 minutes away with the award-winning attraction the “Titanic Centre”, HMS Belfast, Cathedral Quarter, Crumlin Gaol, an array of historic buildings and a multitude of shops and restaurants in Victoria Square. It is a superb location for a family holiday as you have a wealth of options to chose from - a fabulous long sandy beach, play parks, Portaferry aquarium “Exploris”, petting farms, play cafes, adventure playgrounds, canoeing and windsurfing to name but a few! The cottage is equally suited to a romantic getaway or family holiday. Greyabbey is a small quaint village known for its antique and vintage shops. There are also two very nice coffee shops/bistros and a pub which has very good food. A Thai restaurant and takeaway is due to open this summer. The cottage is just across the way from the ruins of the Abbey set in beautiful parkland, perfect for a picnic or food for the soul! If you enjoy unspoilt beaches you can enjoy a 5km round trip along the stunning Ballywalter beach which is 5 minutes drive from the cottage. We are also fortunate to have the stunning National Trust property of Mount Stewart on our doorstep with its magnificent house and world renowned gardens and trails. The surrounding area of Strangford Lough is very beautiful. Within a few minutes drive you can visit the magnifcent National Trust property of Mount Stewart with its fabulous house, gardens, tea rooms and gift shop. You can enjoy a walk along the lovely unspoilt beach of Ballywalter. A trip around the Lough taking in the lovely villages of Portaferry and Strangford will reward you. A visit to the National Trust property of Castleward is well worth a visit with its beautiful setting on the side of the Lough. Other interesting stops include Castle Espie and Nendrum, close to the town of Comber. The cottage is located just 10 minutes drive from the town of Newtowards, 20 minutes from Bangor, 25 minutes from Belfast, 1 hour to the Mourne Mountains, 1.5 hours to the North Antrim Coast, 2 hours from the lakes at Fermanagh and 2.5 hours from Dublin. • We felt so welcomed by Janet, who had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. We didn’t want to leave! Highly recommended.

  • The cottage is gorgeous. I literally want my real house to be as beautiful as this! And we were able to walk back from Orange Tree House after the wedding, so close! Stunning!!

  • Thanks so much Janet. We loved our wee stay in lilac Tree. Everything was as we needed and the cottage is very funky. You’ve done a lovely job. Your touches of wine, crisps and chocolate were so thoughtful. More than we ever got when just married and on honeymoon in the nicest of hotels. Janet couldn’t have done more to be a great host and we appreciated being able to work away and enjoy the break just ourselves. A great wee getaway and so close to beautiful areas. Mount Stewart is an excellent place to visit and only 5minutes away :)

Situated on the coastal path and a stones throw from Bangor Marina this cosy one bedroom annex is perfectly placed to explore Bangor, Belfast, the Ards Peninsula and the beautiful North coast. The annex is a five minute walk to the town centre via sea path and there are frequent train links to Belfast and beyond. There are an abundance of coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and ice cream parlours on our door step and guests are welcome to borrow our family bikes to further their explorations.
This self contained annex was a former hayloft and is part of one of the oldest properties on the road dating back to the mid 1800's. The loft has been converted to include 1 double bedroom with dresser and wardrobe, a large hall space suitable for luggage storage or travel cot. The living area is spacious and comfortable with dinning space, sofa bed and tv/dvd (please note no channels, dvds only and wide selection provided). There is a small bathroom with an electric shower and a Kitchenette with basic facilities such as mini fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave (No oven). Parking is on the road directly outside property. All in all we would describe it as a cosy space to spend the night and a great location to explore all the local area has to offer.
Pickie park and the sea path are right on our doorstep. There is an abundance of good local coffee shops, ice cream parlours, pubs and eateries a walk away. Ballyholme beach is apx. 2.5km on foot.

My house is in the seaside area of Ballyholme a few minutes from Bangor town centre. At the end of the street is a cluster of shops and eateries and the beach. It's a perfect spot for walkers, cyclists, sailors (the 2 yacht clubs are a few mins away) and for exploring County Down. Belfast is easily accessible. This is a quirky house on 3 levels. The bedroom is on the first floor and the bathroom is on the ground floor. There is a new double bed and a light breakfast is provided.
  • Carol is a truly lovely lady. The house is very clean. The bed was so comfortable and the decor very well done. It is really nice to have access to a sitting room. There were a lot of cars passing but I slept soundly. Breakfast consists of coffee /tea, a selection cereal, wholemeal toast and oj. Perfect for starting the day. Location: Excellent a short walk from the bay and Ballyholme village. Buses: The 302b/c run from the top of the road and the 3 bus runs from the bottom of the road. Taxi: £5 from Bangor train station. Walking along the seaside to Bangor from Ballyholme is more than doable and very enjoyable on a sunny day. There is a co-op and boots nearby for necessities The excellent Bangor Curry House makes an excellent vegetarian korma. Its a BYO so you could take a bottle of wine in with you.

Crawfordsburn Cottage is situated 1 mile from the quaint village of Crawfordsburn and 1 mile from the seaside town of Bangor. It is a well presented 3 bed semi detached home within close proximity to a range of tourist attractions and within walking distance to Carnalea Golf Club, many delightful coastal walks. The location offers ease of access to Belfast city centre via rail and George Best airport is a 15 minute drive away. As I live on my own I do not take male only bookings.
My home is unique as it is deceptionally spacious, bright and very tastefully decorated. I also allow pets as long as they are house trained and aren't reptiles!! and a pet minding service is available for a reasonable fee if perhaps the owners are attending a wedding during their stay. My garden is also fully enclosed to keep your beloved pets safe. There is a brick driveway which can accommodate 2 cars.
Crawfordsburn Cottage is set at the top of a quiet close of 15 houses off the Crawfordsburn Road, Bangor. There is very little traffic - mostly just the residents. The area is a much sought after location to live in in North Down and is a safe neighboourhood.
  • Linda has a really lovely place and she is such a great host. I stayed for three weeks and I was so sad that I had to leave! If there was anything I needed, Linda knew where to find it or even took care of it herself and got it for me. Her house has everything you need for a pleasant stay and it was very clean. Her two little dogs are just a nice extra as they are lovely and funny at the same time :-) I definitely recommend Linda's place and would come back any time!

Furthermore she changed our money from Euro to Pounds because we didn't thought of that at all before our trip. Thank you again! If we ever come to Northern Ireland again we will hope to stay there a second time.

There is lots of room with at least four sleeping rooms, including a charming loft bedroom with a balcony and en suite. Lots of picture windows, this is a light and airy home with so much character. They welcome their guests like family, offer up helpful suggestions for local sights and dining, and are very quick in their replies. The kitchen is fully appointed with a fabulous gas stove top and two ovens, and if I had the time I would have cooked every day! The location is extremely convenient to dining, local points of interest and the coast. Definitely looking forward to another visit. This is what all Airbnb experiences should be like, Dave and Sally should open a school for potential hosts.

    Megan2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We have to say, this place is absolutely outstanding. A beautiful property with all you can imagine, lovely secluded site yet not out in the sticks. We picked this property based on the photos, exactly our taste and more. Everywhere was immaculately clean. All you can imagine is there, and then some. Room after room after room. All beyond stunning. Can't fault the hosts or the property in any way. The hot tub was a special treat. Must admit we did try out the trampoline too lol. We will continue to recommend and hope to return. Attention to detail is second to none.

  • Janet's place is amazing! Absolutely perfect. Comfy beds, wonderful grounds. Arrival gift was super thoughtful. Highly recommend.

    Kat2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely family stay at all the cottages. Perfect place for a quiet get away.

    Ruth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning property and the large, enclosed garden is great for kids. It really has the wow factor when you walk through the door. Janet was a super host. Faultless.

    Douglas2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A chance to get away with family including our (almost) two year old. It's such a beautiful space to relax and just enjoy each other's company. A fantastic garden for our daughter to run around and enjoy the slide and the swing. And there are such beautiful places around on the Ards peninsula you don't need to go far to enjoy a walk on the beach. And the little touches from Janet like a little teddy in our duaghter's cot immediately made you feel at home.

    Andrew2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage with a spectacular view and garden.

    Matthew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I booked these cottages for the bridal party as I was getting married at Orangetree house. They looked beautiful in the pictures but were somehow even better in real life. The living room of the annex was so spacious with lovely light coming in and a great view of the garden. Everyone has commented on how gorgeous the cottages look in our photos. Janet herself was amazing. She happily let us check in early which saved a lot of stress and even left us a welcome gift. These must be the best accommodation in Greyabbey. I will be recommending them to everyone!

    Ruth2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everyone loved their stay, the cottage lived up to all expectations. Would definitely recommend.

    Ben2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We'd wholeheartedly recommend Janet's cottage. It is stylish, spacious and very comfortable. It was a great place to relax in the evenings when we were at home with our baby. The garden is glorious, a really big space that we enjoyed exploring. We really appreciate the thought that Janet and Ken out into making us feel welcome at the cottage. They were very helpful, friendly and responsive both before and during our stay. We know the area well, and found the cottage an excellent base. It is right by the abbey, and there are good cafes and take-away in the village a very short walk away. The property had everything we needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We hope to return.
