Charlotte Amalie Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Charlotte Amalie

This Hideaway is close to Island view guest house, the airport, comfortably sleeps 4. Equipped with a king size bed and couch bed. You’ll love my place because of Secluded and private cozy getaway. Offering sea views of West End Charlotte Amalie.
  • This is a great stay for the price. The house is located on a long winding road across from a conviently placed shopping center. Nancy was a very welcoming and kind host; she offered to take us to the market on several occasions and gave us a tour of the island as well as other requests. Her and her family were very helpful over the course of our trip. We used a taxi our entire stay here but I recommend renting your own vehicle if you are comfortable driving on the left side of the road. If you decide to go by taxi, my only recommendation is to use Clearview Apartments as a drop off/pick up marker as it's a very close walking distance to the house and more well known to other taxis who are unfamiliar with the street. Other than that, for the amenities and comfortable space you cannot beat this price!

  • Nancy was a perfect host: she helped when I asked, and left me to my own devices otherwise. The wifi was very fast, and the view was remarkable--best sunset spot on the island. Very convenient to the airport and the grocery store. Highly recommended.

  • Nancy was a great host! She is very fast and honest with communication, which made us feel comfortable that we could always get help and answers we needed quickly--both before our trip and while we were there. For example, she gave great directions that brought our taxi driver right to the place, despite it being off the beaten track. And while we were there, she gave us quick directions to pick up some groceries and get back. Her apartment is very well kept and provides just enough at the right price for a comfortable stay. It is secluded and quiet, and the view is beautiful. We enjoyed nights of wine on the porch at sunset! We would definitely return.

  • Nancy was extremely friendly and helpful and very quick to respond, even when we were extremely last minute in booking (day of!). The location was a bit further from Frenchtown than expected and up a large hill, but Nancy was very accommodating by offering rides an sharing taxi information. There is a grocer conveniently near by and plenty to see and visit once down the hill. And, the price was right!

    Michelle2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place great location! Place is very spacious, clean, and she even had water and snacks for us! Will definitely stay there when I go back to St Thomas.

  • My hosts were gracious and very helpful. They gave me a great place to stay at a real bargain price! Away from the hustle bustle of downtown, great views of the ocean and the airport. Loved staying there, just wish I could have stayed longer.

  • Even before getting on a plane, Nancy was in communication with us, offered to buy us juice and water and also pick us up from the airport. We didn't need that but she did meet us at a central location when we were done with our car rental and showed us the way. The house is clean, luminous, has a wonderful sunset view, and is in a very quiet part of town, yet very close to everything. Nancy was an outstanding hostess (even offered us a car seat for our child!) and we felt well-taken care of and at home. The internet is very fast as a previous review mentioned, so it was great for me to get work done when I needed to. Highly recommended for basic comfort for a great price!

  • It's a nice apt. Nancy is a great host. She's very helpful. The area is quiet and the views outside your door are amazing. Best times are sunrise and sunset. It's a 5min ride up from the main road taxis and safari. You may also take the 15min trot down hill. There are supermarkets, convenience store, fast-food, local club and bars as you reach the main road as well. I'd return and refer to friends and family.

Welcome to our 200 year old town-house in downtown Charlotte Amalie. We are two resident fine artists with in-house studios and gallery. We are offering two rooms in our bohemian-style work-in-progress home: A- Two Twin Beds, B- Queen Size Bed. This is listing for the A room Two Twin Beds (or go to listing B). Our place is in a historic district around the corner from the Synagogue, and close walking distance to the harbor, Main Street shops, safari buses, ferries, sea planes, and restaurants.
Our home features traditional Danish architecture and design, with arches, classic tiles, and two-foot thick walls made from ballast bricks, stones, and shells. We offer two rooms with very high ceilings that increase air flow and reduce heat (this listing: A- 2 twin beds, see photos). This open style was common in the Virgin Islands until about 60 years ago when a/c became more readily available. We have screens on the windows and fans at the feet of the beds, which bring temperatures down quite a bit. This townhouse also features a unique private courtyard, which you can use. Our house is old and a continuous work-in-progress, so please be mindful that some things require the occasional TLC and are occasionally under construction.
  • Vincent and Ellen - and their place - exceeded expectations. You can tell that they really care about your experience at their residence and on St. Thomas. The place has got a great location - close to restaurants, shopping, and the safari bus. The remodel is very nice, with an artistic touch to everything. Do not expect a 5 star hotel. This place is more down to earth, and "real", but in no way less valuable. Two great characters, in a great building, in a great location, on a great island. Thanks for everything.

    Craig2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Vincent and Ellen are amazing hosts. They provided us with everything we needed. The house is beautiful and full of art and very centrally located in town. Would most definitely recommend this place!

  • If you're looking for somewhere safe with wonderful hosts, beach, shopping, places to eat, you will love Vincent and Ellen's home.

  • Fantastic, interesting hosts. The rental itself is a piece of colonial island art.

  • Perfect.

  • Delightful couple whose home is centrally located and full of art. The bedroom is comfortable and colorful. Sharing a bathroom can be a challenge when four people get up at the same time. Vincent and Ellen were easy to talk with and very accommodating. I will certainly stay here my next trip to St Thomas.

  • Hated having to leave this beautiful house & it's prime location. Ellen & Vincent are awesome hosts and very knowledgeable about the islands & were a huge help whenever I went exploring about the islands and Charlotte Amelie. I will for sure book their house again when I return to St. Thomas :)

  • My son and I were in St Thomas for only 2 days. The property was just as described, bohemian! We liked the artful rustic aspect! Vincent was very accommodating and entertaining to me and my 19 yr old son. We were happy with our stay.

My place sits above Bolongo Bay, walk to Iggies Restaurant and Beach Bar, Mim's Seaside Bistro and the Lobster Grill, all a short walk down the hill. It's a safe, gated private community with your own beach at Bolongo Bay, 3 pools in the community, beautiful scenery and views. Watch the cruise ships pass by your bedroom, play tennis on 2 courts or volleyball at Iggies. Just minutes from downtown shopping, restaurants, and fun Red Hook. Condo is NOT handicapped accessible...
The condo is a lovely and recently re-furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit with views of the Caribbean. The master bedroom has a king bed, TV, full bathroom and ocean view, the 2nd bedroom has two twin beds, and the living room has a sofa bed and brand new TV. The second bathroom is a full common bathroom. Each bathroom has been renovated with marble tile and granite countertops. The unit also includes Wi-Fi. It's ideal for families - our family of 5 has stayed there for years! 6 adults can stay there, just keep in mind that the sofa bed is less private and it's a sofa bed! Best for 5 adults or 6 people including children... The kitchen is fully equipped and is great for staying in and cooking. The stove and dishwasher is brand new and there is a microwave as well. The balcony is a nice place to read a book or watch the sunset and the passing cruise ships! Just don't leave your towels outside on the balcony - it's not allowed, and they will blow away! There is paid laundry on-site and an area to bring trash during your stay. There are also beach chairs, coolers, sheets, towels, a pack 'n play and other items available for your use. We will also provide you with a list of our favorite things to do, places to eat and what to see upon booking!
Regatta Point Villas sits above Bolongo Bay and is neighbors to Sea Cliff Villas and Watergate Villas. There is a pool just a few steps from the condo along with the tennis courts. Sea Cliff has a pool which we call the "Pool on the Point" as it seems to sit cliff side overlooking the ocean. Enjoy the company of the iguanas sunbathing on the cliff! Down the hill at Watergate Villas is Mim's Seaside Bistro, another pool and the beach. This beach is all reef and not good for swimming, but is great for watching the crabs, finding sea urchins, collecting sea glass and shells! And, the view is incredible! Bolongo Bay Beach Club and Resort is a walk to the other end of the beach, where swimming is better and watersports are available through the resort. Iggie's Beach Bar and Grill is also there. Iggie's has live music, beach volleyball, basketball courts, and Carnival Nights on Wednesday with a buffet, fire eater/glass walker, Mocko Jumbie, limbo and live music. Local vendors also come to sell their wares.
  • This was a phenomenal Airbnb that I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable time in St. Thomas. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. There are three restaurants within walking distance that are worth checking out! Steven was a great host and quickly answered any questions we had!

    Teagan2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED this condo! It is perfectly located and has all the amenities you could possibly want. Most importantly, Steve was the most gracious host I have encountered so far. He went out of his way to show us the ins and outs of the entire island, and made himself available throughout the week to answer any questions or offer any advice. His wife Eileen and daughter Leslie were just as gracious. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the island!

    Neill2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this condo. This unit has two amazing selling points: the view and the location. The complex is just far enough away from Charlotte Amalie to avoid the cruse crowds, but close enough to enjoy town on a quiet day. It is also close to the restaurants and bars (and the ferry) in Red Hook. There is an ok beach and fun beach club a short walk from the unit, or you can do a short drive to many great beaches. You 100% need to have a car. The complex is quiet, welcoming, and mostly inhabited by retirees. The pools are great. We were traveling with an 18 month old, so we especially appreciated the pack-n-play and booster seat. Steven is a welcoming host - very accommodating, communicative, and responsive.

  • Very nicely maintained and accurate - wonderful location and fully equipped apartment with all kinds of amenities. We loved this apartment and reccommend it for families and folks that want to be comfortable. Very nice.

  • Overall, we had a very enjoyable trip. Had we prepared a little better, I'm sure we could have avoided a lot of unexpected costs. To start off, in St. Thomas, the taxis are like the mafia. They charge crazy prices and also per person so when we got to the airport, our cab to the property was $15 per person totaling up to $60 which is wild for the short distance. If you can rent a car, that's definitely advised. It's cheaper and more convenient. If driving on the opposite side of the road freaks you out and you would rather taxi, you can catch a taxi outside Bolongo Bay pretty much all day. There is a parking spot right outside the condo if you do rent a car. Our friends parked there with ease when they came to visit. If you need a taxi, we met an awesome one! His name is Ish ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). He drove us around the entire time we were there and is very knowledgeable about the island and where to go. Tell him that Danielle and Spanish Lady from the Watergate Villas gave you his number. He was never more than 6-7 minutes away from us and gave us a discounted rate. I have AT&T so I had perfect cell service the entire time we were there. Once we got to the villa, we were pleased to see that the villa was rather clean and was a typical island residence. It was super hot but cooled down quickly once the air conditioners were turned on. FYI - there are only 2 systems from what we saw; one in the master suite and one in the main living space. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITION UNIT IN THE SECOND BEDROOM! So it got a little hot at night if they didn't sleep with the door open. The villa was also stocked with plenty of things we needed for the beach including snorkel gear and a cooler. This came in handy for our beach excursions. It was so nice to pack up lunch, alcohol, etc. and bring it with us rather than spend lots of money on the beach. We also left some neon floats there so enjoy them if you rent this property! Since everything on the island is imported, the cost of food was very expensive. This was true for both eating out and buying food at the grocery store. A gallon of milk goes for about $8 and a small case of water runs anywhere from $7-9. It's super hot on the island and really important to stay hydrated so these were essentials we needed. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on food! Rum on the other hand was super cheap. A taxi ride to the supermarket cost us about $20-25 each way since we were 4 people so, again, definitely rent a car if you can. All beaches on the Island are public so you can go to the Marriott (if you...

  • This was an ideally located condo in a quiet gated community, with lovely views of palms and the sea. I stayed here with some friends from college on a reunion trip and could not have had a better time! We found the apartment well-maintained, the kitchen equipped for cooking on nights we stayed in, and plenty of amenities for the beach including towels, beach chairs, floaties, etc. Hosts Steve and his daughter Leslie were great about communicating with us, making sure our stay was comfortable. At their recommendation we visited some of their favorite restaurants and beaches. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Looking over downtown Charlotte Amalie, we are known for our view! We've had so many great times with AirBNB travelers we are opening up our Standards to AirBNB. Stay at our highly reviewed hotel for discounted AirBNB rates. Award Winning Restaurant!
  • Wonderful stay and incredible view. Just as advertised. I scored a better rate via Airbnb than if I had booked directly. My room was fantastic. As others have noted, there are a lot of steps and you must take a short taxi ride to town. Neither presented a problem for me. The pool bar was great and the restaurant bar was even better. I stayed at several hotels on St Thomas on this trip (pre and post sailboat charter) and Mafolie was my favorite.

    Kim2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay! The view from the hotel was amazing! The staff was incredible as well. We definitely will recommend the Mafolie to all of our friends and family!

  • Great spot, great views and great bushwhackers. The staff was courteous and helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. I'd go back!!

    Robert2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a beautiful gem! When we visit St. Thomas again one day, we'll be coming back here for sure.

    Colleen2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This room has some of the most spectacular views in all of St Thomas! The restaurant is excellent and serves all meals! The accessibility can be a bit tricky with a car or pricey with taxis but totally worth it for the views!

    Scott2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • I booked a room at Adam's listing same day and he got back with me quickly and was able to accommodate myself and my partner. The room was small and cozy, but had real shower with hot water as well as air conditioning. The view from outside the room was stunning. The hotel is so lovely and had a wonderful free continental breakfast in the morning. My favorite part of the location was the blind, three legged cat that lives on the premises. I checked Hotel Mafolie's website to see how much a standard room actually cost and was so happy to see that I got an incredible deal booking through air BnB. I would visit this place again and recommend 500%!

    Kristin2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place to stay at, we were both lucky and fortunate to find this hotel/restaurant. The staff is the most kind and friendly we have ever encountered. The complementary breakfast was a real nice treat as well. We only had a couple of complications. When we checked in they put us in a room that was not the one we were promised when we booked it, but they quickly put me in the room looking over the pool and downtown. The last thing i would recommend is to rent a car as the hotel is located on top of a hill it can get quite pricy paying $6 a person each way. You can walk up and down but there is no sidewalk so it can get dangerous. Overall please don't hesitate just book it.

    Tomas2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views from the room, to the pool to the bar all around a very nice place. Breakfast in the morning was awesome. Close to downtown only a 12$ ride for two people and close to Megan's bay which is also amazing. Will be coming back here next time we visit the island!

Securely located in a tropical garden behind an historic home, it served as the cook house in the early 1800's. I renovated it into a charming and unique one bedroom apartment. The cottage has the original brick oven, exposed ceiling beams and a herringbone patterned brick floor. Located only steps from restaurants, shops, public transportation and with a fully equipped kitchen means you'll save money not having to rent a car or having to go out to eat for every meal. Go green!
This well-known home was once owned by the infamous Mexican General Santa Anna of Texas's Alamo fame in the 1850's and by General Vilbrun Guillaume "Simon" Sam, a President of Haiti in the late 1800's. Kitchens were built away from the main house because so many houses were destroyed by kitchen fires. Our harbor town, Charlotte Amalie was destroyed six times by fires and building laws were changed as a preventative measure. Few original kitchen cottages remain intact in the Caribbean. The cottage is securely nestled in a tropical garden that has filled out beautifully to provided safe haven for many types of hummingbirds, bananaquits, tiny doves and butterflies.
The house is located in the historic district of Charlotte Amalie where most of the houses were built in the early 1800's. Go on a guided walking tour of the historic district, try the awesome Trinidadian roti in town, go kayaking in the mangroves, take a fun ferry ride to St. John for the day, buy a papaya and a mango for breakfast at the farmer's market, see who can find the tackiest souvenir at Thieves Market, hop a quick ferry ride to Water Island and spend a lazy day on Honeymoon Beach or take a leisurely walk to Frenchtown for dinner. You may even want to go shopping for duty free bargains just a minute away on Main St. Take home an experience....not just another beach vacation!
  • My husband and I had a great experience in St Thomas and loved staying in the Dutch Kitchen Cottage for a week. The place is small, but perfect for a couple or solo traveler. I really enjoyed the history of the place - cooking on the stove in the same spot where the hearth used to be was a highlight for me. Doug has all the basics you'll need to cook simple meals, which helped offset the cost of the trip for us. (We ate some meals home and others out.) The location is great - on a hill right above the downtown area. Easy walk to shopping, restaurants, taxis and the ferry to St John. Woke up to the local roosters every morning. We went to the beach nearly every day (take the $1 safari to Emerald Beach!) and I appreciated all the drying racks Doug installed in the cottage - lots of places to hang wet towels and bathing suits. We found Doug to be very accommodating and friendly. He gave us a lot of great tips about the area. This place is a great value and although it's not a 5 star resort, if you're the type that appreciates staying in a historic spot, in a local neighborhood then I highly recommend this place. Only complaint was the wifi - no signal in the cottage and only a weak signal outside in the garden. Luckily there are lots of restaurants with wifi downtown (Greenhouse and Bad Ass Coffee were our fav spots), so it wasn't a huge problem for us. Great Airbnb experience. :) Thanks, Doug.

    Tiffany 2014-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is cozy, tiny, and located real close to the shopping district in downtown. It sits in the garden behind Doug's apartment building, which I found to be real nice. It was great to sit on the chairs outside and have my morning coffee each day. Doug is a nice guy, and he'll help you out with advice on where to go and how to get there if you ask. There's WiFi, which is great if you don't have cell coverage in the VI (I have Verizon, they have no data coverage there, and talk and text are charged per minute or message). The neighborhood has its own idiosyncrasies, just like any place, so I'd recommend doing some research to make sure it's the part of town you want to be staying in.

    Cyrus2014-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • I'll start with the PROs, as I do feel they outweigh the CONs, albeit by very little. Other reviewers have gone into more detail (see Bob July 2015), so please read those as I wont go into as much detail. Disclaimer as well, my wife and I were on our honeymoon on the final leg of our St Thomas trip so we could stay in the city. We were previously staying on the east end of the island. PROs: Doug - amazing host. He let us check in early, check out late, helped us get our bags up a pretty steep hill to the apartment. He gave us beach towels so we could go to Magen's Bay (touristy, but beautiful and highly recommended). He showed us the lay of the land from his rooftop (more on that later) and also provided printouts of all the things he recommends to do and eat - everything we tried that he referred us to was great. Nothing bad can be said about Doug at all, great guy and originally from our neck of the woods. Location - If you are looking to shop, eat at restaurants, and check out the city, you're in the right place. Super convenient to pretty much anything in Charlotte Amelie. Rooftop - all of his guests of his apartments have access to this, we hung out there every day and every night just to soak in the views, truly a highlight of staying there. CONs: The apartment itself - again I wont go into as much detail as the others, but you are really a step above "roughing it". We were on our honeymoon and wished it would've been more comfortable. No window in the bedroom (FYI - it is the only room with A/C) and a mattress that desperately needs replacement. The kitchen (selling point for me) was used one night and never again as the temperature in the place was unbearable (Yes, we were there during the "hot" season, but 10 degrees cooler honestly wouldn't have done much). No couches to relax on. Almost nothing is comfortable. The bathroom is nice. The neighborhood - a couple blocks the wrong way at night gets dicey, even locals we talked to told us to be careful at night there. Surprisingly the noise wasn't disturbing though, probably because we spent most of our time in the late evenings in the bedroom with the AC cranked watching movies from my laptop as he only had a few channels on his TV. I know, you don't go to paradise to watch TV but after you have a had a long day of exploring, going to the beach, and eating out, its nice to come back to something comfortable. Bottom line, this is fine if you know what you are getting into. A not-so-comfortable apartment with fabulous architecture and historic value to crash for a few nights with great access to most of what Charlotte Amelie and St Thomas has to offer.

    Zach2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Doug made the stay so nice with the detailed discrimination of the island and printed out directions to the surrounding beaches, restaurants and bars. The view from the roof is beautiful and a perfect way to put an end to any day on the island. I would definitely recommend this place to any able bodied person looking to visit the island and really submerge into the day to day happenings of St. Thomas!

    Ryann2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great host. Very good communication, and very prompt and thorough!

    Jordan2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough good things about Doug and the Cottage. The space is exactly as described (I'd actually say it's nicer than it appears on the site - the pics don't capture how comfortable and charming it is) and Doug is a fantastic host. Terrific communication, immediate responses. Made me feel at home from the moment I arrived, lots of information about the neighborhood and the Island. As for the space, I will be recommending the Cottage to all of my friends except for the most mobility-challenged (the house is at the top of a hill and there are some stairs). Charming, breezy, quiet. There are hummingbirds in the garden. The roof terrace is as gorgeous as pictured. Perfectly situated near great places to eat, the safari stop, ferry landing, all the shops. Great stove, kitchen supplies, plenty of hot water. Oh - and regarding the mattress? Unbelievably comfortable pillow-top: haven't slept so well in ages. (No squeaks!) This space is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. I loved it - thanks Doug!

  • Our stay at the Old Danish Kitchen apt was amazing. It is perfect for couples looking to escape for the weekend (or weekends!!). The location is everything, right in the middle of Charlotte Amalie. Douglas was a great host with a lot of great suggestions to do around town. We will most definitely return!!

    Ricardo 2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Doug is an amazing host, very professional, kind and helpful! The cottage is perfect for 2 and set in a great location. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within a walking distance, and access to taxis and "safaris" could not be any easier. The rooftop access is just wonderful although sometimes I wished there was a bit more shade up there considering that's the only spot my husband and I both were able to access the wifi (we both have the newest iPhones). The air conditioning in the room worked well and was able to drown out any outside noises (there are wild roosters that "cock-a-doodle-doo" all night long throughout the whole island). My only tiny complaint about the stay was how squeaky the bed was. :( My husband and I woke each other up a handful of times each day but after the first night it didn't bother us as much. All in all, this was a great place to stay in. We will be back!

Located in the Francois Building (searchable by name in maps) directly across from historic Fort Christian, this 1BR apartment in a gated complex is right in the heart of downtown Charlotte Amalie. Walking distance to Main Street, Safaris (taxis), Yacht Haven, Havensight & Crown Bay.
We are located in the "Francois Complex" across from Ft. Christian. This is a historical building.
This 1 bedroom apartment is located in the heart of it all. Steps away from restaurants, shopping, historic buildings, art studios, etc.
  • The one bedroom apt was located so conveniently to everything. There were one dollar safaris half a block away that took me all over the island. It was comfortable, clean and spacious. Everything I needed was furnished. Dan met us at the apartment and gave us an introduction to our surroundings. Maps and libations were also there. The vegetarian restaurant across the street was my go to for breakfast everyday. You must the smoothies. All in all, this was my favorite vacation thus far.

  • Superb location! Right near shops, great restaurants & plenty of sights to see if that's what you're after. Local safari transportation is a plus as well. Not close to beaches but it is a very quick ride from the airport. We spent our first night here and would certainly stay again! Jennifer was a very pleasant and easy host - even gave us a ride to the nearby Marina. Thanks again!

  • Great room and great hosting a great downtown Charlotte Amalie location!

  • This is a great place to stay if you are looking to go to St. Thomas on a budget. The flat was better than I expected it to be! Very clean, only problem is there were small ants in the kitchen if food was left out or open. But it was very spacious, the air conditioning worked really well, and they had some nice extra amenities for us when we arrived! A TV with netflix, hulu, etc. some snacks, bottled water, RUM, sunscreen, beach towels, and some travel sized shampoo and conditioner. This was awesome for me because my checked bag was lost in the airport. The area is a little sketchy, but we did not have any problems. The place is convenient if you want to catch a taxi or safari bus quickly, and is only a short walk away from Frenchtown and yacht haven. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Great hosts, very helpful. Great location. Would stay again!

  • A central location in town very close to shops, a few restaurants, and transportation. The place is spacious but be aware it is a historic place that has been fixed up a bit, so don't expect a new hotel room. It was plenty fine for us. There is noise from cars and motorcycles going by during the night, but I am able to sleep through such noises and never used the provided earplugs. Though it is close to the water, it is a harbor, and the beaches are a taxi or safari ($1) ride away -about 10-15 minutes to the close ones. St. John island is only a $2 ride to the ferry in Red Hook.

  • Our stay in Charlotte Amalie couldn't have been smoother. Dan greeted us on time, gave us some great recommendations for food and snorkeling, and gave us the lay of the land. The apartment is centrally located to all the shops that cater to cruise passengers, and just a short walk to bars, shops and restaurants on the waterfront. So glad we decided to stay here instead of one of the isolated resorts around the island. Highly recommended!

    John2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Cannot say enough about Dan and Jennifer. They definitely did everything they could to make sure we were set up and treated well! This location is central to downtown and is very walkable. Excellent communication and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home.

  • Bree is the nicest person! And the place is clean and has everything you need. Her outside hang out spot is terrific for smoking and having a beer. If I'm ever in St Thomas again I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Bree's again.

    Anton2016-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Bri was very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. She would check in with me frequently during my stay to make sure I was happy. I would stay with Bri again.

    Cori2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we did not get to meet Brigitte, but her arrangements for us were perfect and she even called to make sure we had arrived and we're doing OK. Her home is walking distances to good places to eat and the waterfront. Our room was clean, but the shared bath could have used some attention. No AC, but we had a fan and lots of windows!

    Richard2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Brigitte's place is by far the best Airbnb I have stayed at. She does a lot for her guests and truly puts forth the effort to ensure that you have a wonderful stay on the island. Brigitte arranged for us to be picked/dropped off at the airport. She drove and hungout with us at a nearby beach. Provided suggestions on places to go, things to do, and was more than willing to help out in any way that she could. The room was cleaned and stocked with everything we needed for our stay (towels, bug spray, etc). Brigitte's home is central to town and access to all the amazing beaches are just shorts trips via taxi/safari/bus. The house is wonderful, spacious, clean but what really made our stay at Brigitte's home exceptional was the way she made a constant effort to ensure her guests were having a great visit. It's hard to find that amount of effort and care when you're traveling through airbnb or hotels. We would happily return to the islands and stay at Brigitte's!

Had plenty of info on the island! Quirky old Caribbean style house that she is putting her own unique and fun design into :)

  • Denny was amazing. He was super friendly and helpful! He gave us so many tips to make our trip wonderful! He took us too and from the airport and made sure we had everything we needed. He even stopped us at the store when we landed and helped us around. Denny was such an accomadating host and a great guy. We would recommend him a million times over.

  • DennyT is a great host, he was very helpful. Pick me up from the airport and gave me lots of money saving tips

    Gregory2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Denny's place is tucked away in a residential neighborhood. It's a short walk to most places. He was a wonderful host and helped me navigate around the island the way the locals do and I saved a ton of money. It's a steep walk up the hill but you get your exercise. Ask about the safari buses, public transportation and beaches within walking distance. Beware of public transportation on heavy cruise ship days. Remember that you are on island time and a guest so respect the locals who live there.

    Julie2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at Denny T's place was excellent. Denny was very kind and extremely accommodating. Anything that was needed was at my doorstep in the morning or earlier. It was my first time to the Virgin Islands and Denny made me feel right at home. He picked me up from the airport, showed me around town, the places to know the places to avoid, even connected me with a few of the locals to get the network started. Location was great for getting to know the area. He is 3 or 4 blocks off the safari line ($1-$2 taxis) and from there you can get to majority of the island on the cheap. So there is no confusion for future guests, Denny T is the gentleman to the left in the profile photo and responds best to phone calls or text. This listing has a great view, great location, excellent host, I highly recommend to future guest.

Live like a local, in my downstairs studio apartment with a short less than 10 minute drive to the airport and beaches, and a less than 10 mins stroll to the downtown area, arts and culture, parks, entertainment and restaurants. You’ll love my place because of the location and easy access to public transportation. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). PLEASE BE ADVISED DUE TO THE HURRICANE WE DO NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY AT THE MOMENT.
Our studio apartment has a privacy wall separating the living area from the sleeping area for added privacy. Private bathroom, coffee/tea station, large closet, kitchen area with a sink, microwave and mini fridge. The futon is located in the living area and sleeps one person. Outside the front door you'll find fruit trees. Access to this studio is via a private and hidden driveway with a slight hill that can be dark at night. Parking for your vehicle is directly in front of your place.
Less than 10 minutes Walk to Downtown, One Minute Walk to Access Public Transportation. 5 minute Walk to 24hr Convenience Store, Local Restaurants, Seaplane, Griffith Park, Aubain Park, British Virgin Islands Ferry Boat Dock, Post Office, and Waterfront. Less than 10 minute drive to the airport. Close access to highway, guest sensitive to noise may need to consider this.
  • Positive. Mo's mom was helpful in helping us locate the apartment.

    Edward2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mo and her mother are very accommodating hosts with a great little place to stay in St Thomas, with easy access to downtown, dollar busses and the airport.

    Filipe2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very affordable!

    richard2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • While the space was clean and the hostess wonderful, I am giving it 3 stars mostly because the description is misleading. I would recommend this studio for 1-3 people who have no mobility issues and are not bothered by night noises. First, the positives: Mo responded promptly and her mother, Ms. Bee, was a kind and helpful onsite hostess. The studio itself is very clean, with strong wifi. It is in a great location within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and bars in Frenchtown, and is a short taxi ride to the airport. Now, the challenges. To get to the studio you must walk 60 feet up a narrow, steep, dark, uneven driveway, and then climb 5 steps to enter the room. Access is unsuitable for anyone with walking problems, and difficult if you have lots of heavy luggage. The description says the studio sleeps four; in fact, there is a double bed and a small futon that could fit one average-sized adult, but certainly not two. The neighbors' dogs barked obnoxiously when anyone walked or drove by, and roosters started crowing around 4am. Because there was no AC, we could not close the windows to lessen the noise. Given these circumstances, the studio was not suitable for my family of four adults and our luggage. I would also say the price is currently a little high. If the price was lowered and the description was more accurate, it could be a great fit for a budget-conscious individual or couple.

    Mary Helan2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mo and Ms Bee were very prompt and kind in all communications. We had a little trouble finding the place and Ms Bee was there with her car within minutes to retrieve us! The accommodations were very clean, and the hosts supplied anything we could think of (URL HIDDEN) WiFi, towels, coffee, coffee maker, bottled water in the fridge, and even a couple of local roosters as early morning alarm clocks.

    Jennifer2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Future guests should understand the location before booking, which I did not. Ask for a picture of the outside entrance and the street/alley leading to the entrance. It was not at all the "strolling/walking" neighborhood as described. We obviously didn't do our homework and understand the neighborhood. However, because of the location and our walking we did discover a few outstanding Frenchtown eateries and deli that we look forward to visiting on our next trip to St Thomas (but we will find an alternative lodging). Re: Air-Conditioning. It was accurately reported that there was not AC, so it was not mis-represented. However, we have stayed in the islands this time of year many times and have been fine with open windows etc, but this unit has no cross-breeze and was very uncomfortable, constant blowing fans required to maintain comfort.

  • My mom and I really enjoyed our stay at Jodi's place. The apartment is cute, comfortable and clean. The view from the balcony is amazing and there is a lot of wild life around to see such as parrots, iguanas and humming birds. The location of the building is isolated and it's up a steep hill so renting a car is recommended. We arrived right before Carnival so we could not find a car to rent. We had to walk up the hill a few times and it felt like a boot-camp work out. Over all the experience was awesome.

    Monika2016-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and I were on our second honeymoon and we love to snorkel, spend long days at the beach, and explore. St Thomas and St John were great! Jodi is a new host and we originally rented at $50 a night which was very reasonable. We decided to take the risk because there were no reviews when we booked... however we liked the photos. We did not expect perfection. We expected clean, which her apt was, and safety, which the neighborhood was. Her price has gone up to $90 so with that in mind, I will give her some private suggestions. (we have been airbnb hosts for 3 years now) She seems very open to feedback because I noticed that she supplied more towels after her first review appeared. At this location, you definitely need a car which was fine with us because we like to explore. Even though the island is small we found that gps helped a lot. (streets change their orientation at different times of the day) If you have AT&T, you can use your cell phone. Jodi does not provide internet but you can use your cell phone. Loved the washer and dryer that were available. You need to have quarters and we used a clothes line that we carry with us for our swimwear and snorkel stuff. We left clothes pins for the next guest. Thanks Jodi.

  • My girlfriend and i decided on a Thursday evening an island trip was in order. We booked Friday and flew out on Saturday. We had a great stay at Jodi's studio apartment. It was clean, secure and had a great view that overlooked Charlotte Amalie and the bay. Verizon wireless doesn't have a tower so calling Jodi would've been expensive if it wasn't for the wonderful lady at Avis Car rental getting Jodi on the phone and getting directions for us. We met in a parking lot of the main road and followed her mother up to the apartment. Very short drive to Magens Bay beach. Jodi recommended Lindquist Beach and I cannot thank her enough for that. So beautiful and so private. We went 3 times around sunset and there were only 2 people just one of the times. It was amazing. If you want to live like a local, this is the spot. The neighbors thought we were moving in. I wish! Make sure you bring or buy an extra towel, there are only two in the apartment. A/c works great, plus a couple of ceiling fans. I definitely recommend this spot and will stay here again.

  • Chris was a great host, greeting us with a bottle of bubbly to welcome us to St. Thomas. Be prepared for an uphill climb to his place, which at times was nearly vertical. Drop it into low gear and you'll be fine. Once you reach the top of the hill, the rooftop view of Magens Bay is breathtaking. He was kind enough to allow us to use his washing machine after camping in the rain forest, and in general made us feel right at home like we were the other roommate. He felt like an old friend, and one we'll hope to encounter again in our travels. Thanks, Chris & Dimitria!

  • Chris was an accomidating and professional host for my trip to St.Thomas USVI. The living accommodations were clean and exactly what I needed from a room during my stay. Chris and His roommate made it possible for me to go on so many adventures during my visit . Some included scuba diving , snorkeling ,spear fishing , viewed stars at the observatory on top of the island , snorked at night in the bioluminescent waters of a local bay. Overall great place to stay for anyone looking to get out and explore the islands !

    Derek2016-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was a nice host.

  • Chris did an EXCELLENT job hosting my trip to his place in St Thomas. He did an excellent job communicating my arrival details. One of my nights needed to be changed and he did an excellent job communicating and refunding the change. Chris did a great job of making feel right at home the first night I was there :)) I was not looking for a tourist vacation. I was looking for more of a locals experience. Again Chris delivered in full filling my wishes. He knows pretty much everyone in town. His friends were all super, super friendly and made me feel very welcoming. Chris helped me get around town with him and his friends without any hesitation. He showed me the local beach spots which were super chill and not filled with numb tourists. Chris is very knowledgeable about the layout of the land and history of the town. I would definitely recommend staying at Chris's place to any one of my friends who are looking for an adventure that's not advertised in any tourist book. Thanks Chris! Looking forward to my next visit!!

***Hurricane Update. Generator is available to run a couple hours a day for charging phones, using water (filtered tap water too) ect. Limited cooking (grille). Cooler will need ice to keep food cold. Screened windows for breeze*** Our place is minutes to Magens Beach, the airport and the downtown. We are 25 minutes from the East End where the ferry to St John is. A car is highly recommended to get around.
You’ll love our place because of the safe neighborhood, the open yard and picnic table outside your door, the comfy temperpedic bed and the quiet nature sanctuary that surrounds us. The outside sitting area is great for morning coffee or preparing a snack. The place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Besides the proximity to Magens Bay Beach (top 10 beach in the Caribbean), there is a local dive restaurant (Brooks Bar) serving up local stewed chicken and rice and beans, and also Flamboyant with a coffee shop/deli and restaurant/bar Three Sheets, and ice cream place Udder Delight all between us and the beach! A local beach with a restaurant/bar and often live music is a favorite surf spot and hangout, less than 10 minutes away by car.
  • This is where you need to stay! It was exactly what we were looking for at the perfect price. It was 10 mins away from the best beach on the island. RENT A CAR! I can't imagine what it would have been like without a car. Cathy and her husband are awesome and their place is the perfect for 2 people.

    David2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy and Ramsey were wonderful hosts! The location is amazing, and the neighborhood feels amazingly safe. This room doesn't have a view of the water, but if you walk up to use the washer and dryer it has the most incredible view. Located near the center of the island it's conveniently located to easily get anywhere within 15 min. I highly recommend renting a car, since most of the island is not pedestrian friendly. I attempted to walk to Magen's one day and quickly said "nope"! Cathy and Ramsey were always reachable with any questions or concerns and would occasionally leave me delicious cold brew coffee. They have two beautiful children who were a delight to interact with, and two dogs who are so sweet! I stayed for nearly a month and really loved the location. The little makeshift kitchen outside was also perfect for what I needed. I would happily stay here again in the future.

    Simone2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Cathy's place. The location was amazing, it was close to everything but private and quiet with no traffic at night. The garden was set up beautifully and we had everything we needed to cook small meals. Our hosts were very helpful and accommodating and were happy to provide anything we needed. :-)

    Gina2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is our first trip to USVI and we relaxed well there. The host Cathy is very easy to reach and reply the messages quickly, she is also easy to communicate and whenever there is an issue, she is willing to help solve the problem. The house sitter Kelly and her son have been a great help to us, she is very warm-hearted and gave us lots of information to make our life a lot easier, and without her help, we definitely cannot make this trip successful. The house is very close to Megan's bay beach and only takes a few min to drive to the beach, and we went to the beach almost everyday. it's 5$ person plus 2$ parking fees for the beach and this beach is probably one of the best in the island. The bedroom is a very clean room with a restroom inside that you can hang your clothes and shower, and there is a microwave and refrigerator on the porch that you can use. there is also a big yard right in front of the room and you can park in front of the yard, so it is a very convenient location, especially you plan to go to the beach very often!

    Shirley2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property! Really close to Magens Bay. Had a little bit of trouble finding it the first time just because the addresses on the island are weird. Cathy was very nice and provided everything we needed!

    Rebecca2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying here for a DIY vacation in St Thomas. Cathy's dogs greeted us when we arrived and every morning. They are very friendly. The neighborhood feels very safe. The outdoor cooking space is perfect if you don't want to go out for every meal. The bedroom and bathroom are very clean. The room is completely private from the rest of the house. Cathy or her husband were always available if we needed anything that wasn't already provided. One note: I highly recommend renting a car. Driving on the left side is easy so don't worry. The way the taxi system works on the island, relying on it will quickly add up. It is a relatively small island so nothing is very far away. We were able to explore a lot more than just the closest beach because we rented one. I genuinely believe this is the most bang for your buck in St Thomas.

    David2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I recently visited the island for a week and loved it. This location was perfect for the 2 of us. Quick drive to our favorite beach on the island and a delicious restaurant. The backyard is beautiful and we absolutely fell in love with the 2 dogs! Cathy and Ramsey were available and helpful. Very glad to have stayed here!

    Rachel2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy's home is very welcoming and you will feel like you're coming home everyday. Enjoyed vacationing from a locals point of view verses a typical tourist perspective. House was easy to find with picture instruction sent. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Perfect size space for two people. We would have breakfast every morning on the porch with the dogs and then go explore the island. Would definitely stay again if we decide to visit St. Thomas in the future.

The house is conveniently located 15 minutes from the airport, 4 minutes from the closest beach, and 6 minutes from the jewelry Mecca that is Charlotte Amalie. There are several excellent restaurants less than 10 minutes from your doorstep as well. We look forward to telling you about our favorites! You will hear some cars passing on the road from time to time, but the most common sounds are frogs and crickets.
  • More than honored to be the first guests with Casa Grand View! Every corner of this apartment was spacious and useful! I loved cooking in the kitchen and the shower felt awesome after a long day at the beach. You will want to spend equal amounts of time inside or outside. We very much enjoyed our stay and your hosts are extremely gracious and warm. Please do yourself a favor in staying at this lovely place. The views are pretty magical sun up to sun down.

  • My wife and I had a great time staying here. The view is spectacular and the apartment is very spacious. Dean and Melissa were very helpful and accommodating. They provided us with beach chairs and beach towels for us to use which was very nice. The apartment is close to town and multiple beaches. Definitely would recommend staying here.

Dear Airbnb Friends, The beautiful island of St. Thomas was recently impacted by Hurricane Irma and Maria. We were fortunate that our home was not damaged. Book your reservations today! A small generator is on site. The Dish Network cable is temporarily suspended. There are multiple hot spots throughout the island and it can be frequently picked up from my location. The space is beautiful with stunning views of the harbor and neighboring islands and is within 10 minutes from the airport.
This adorable studio rental is located in a private neighborhood. Your studio has a private entrance and a shared open patio with outdoor furniture which creates a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or breakfast while watching the cruise ships and enjoying the fresh air. From the patio, you can see Frenchman's Reef Hotel, Hassel Island, Water Island, and the scenes of downtown St. Thomas. Trade winds blow throughout the unit. There is a ceiling fan over your bed which keeps you cool all night long. The unit is kept extremely clean and the décor is tasteful.
  • Jenny gets super-host of the year award from me! She was friendly, helpful, and her place was immaculate. Well worth the stay with an amazing view as well!

  • The best hostess ever! She responded quickly and was there to help with a taxi, suggestions, directions, etc.. She even had coffee and water in the fridge. The place was very clean, well decorated and the view and patio deck was wonderful.

  • I had such an amazing experience staying with Jenny. Her home is super clean and has a beautiful view. Jenny is a great host, very kind and gracious. The studio was perfect for my stay, full of great amenities. I would definitely recommend others to book with her. I will for sure be back soon!

  • Jenny welcomed us with great warmth. The place was very comfortable and the views were to die for. She also took care of every single need of us. My wife got her ears wet and she provided us earbuds. Her place is little challenging to reach from the airport because of the narrow streets of St. Thomas island, which we found to be blocked because of trucks parked in the middle of the road. However, once we reached, it was easier to navigate to her place. I would say if you are using a GPS, save her location into your favorites for easy navigation.

  • definitely recommended for a couple! Small but sweet; everything my boyfriend and I needed. Great view, clean studio, comfy bed. Jenny provided everything we needed and more and allowed us our privacy. Will def be back!

Welcome to our 200 year old town-house in downtown Charlotte Amalie. We are two resident fine artists with in-house studios and gallery. We are offering two rooms in our bohemian-style work-in-progress home: A- Two Twin Beds, B- Queen Size Bed. This listing is for the B room Queen Size Bed (or go to listing A).
We offer two rooms with very high ceilings that increase air flow and reduce heat (this listing: B room queen size, see photos).
  • Beautiful home with welcoming courtyard , we walked to many areas or caught the local transportation down the street

    Michele2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice comfortable room and lovely hosts who were eager to share tips for things to do, see and ways to get around! Noisy in the room at weekends but they do have quieter rooms available... a good base to explore from!

  • This was my second stay and I would recommend it to anyone. It's a unique and charming place that will add to your enjoyment of this island. The blend of indoor and outdoor spaces makes for a more tropical experience. Vince and Ellen make it fun. The architecture is impressive and the rooms themselves are large and beautifully done. Ask to see the artist hosts studios which are part of the unique property.

Two Bedroom, two bathroom apartment for rent in the downtown area. Seconds from Main Street and Waterfront. Close to points of interest and easy to get around. Rate includes complimentary breakfast every morning, WI-FI, cable TV, swimming pool, onsite laundry and restaurant. It would be our distinct pleasure to host your stay!
  • Alafia was very accommodating and responsive. Every time I contacted her she responded quickly and accurately. We were able to check in ahead of schedule to drop our bags and walk around downtown to explore the moment we arrived. There were two adequate sized bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Each bedroom had its own a/c unit, tv, a full sized bed with clean linens and a window overlooking the town. There were quite a few steps to the place so make sure you can handle walking up and down stairs! The lady at the front desk was super kind and helpful! There's a small and even a pool bar overlooking the hill and the town. The view was beautiful! There's even free breakfast served from 7:30-11am. This is definitely a great place to rest your head and explore the island of St. Thomas!

    Elaine2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Alafia's 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment off Main St. The apartment is very basic but was close to downtown and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed breakfast at Bunker Hill and dinner at Sugarcane Grill. Everyone at Bunker Hill was very friendly and helpful and they even made up our rooms and replaced our towels on the second day! It was the perfect starting point for exploring St. Thomas for a couple of days!

    Carolyn2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is in one of several buildings on the property of the Bunker Hill Hotel - it's really just a two bedroom suite within the hotel, but in a separate structure with a couple of other apartments. It's located nicely on the hillside right above downtown Charlotte Amalie and an easy walk down to the shops and restaurants on that end of town.

There's a lot more brown in the view these days since Irma and Maria hit us hard, but we still have our sea views and breezes to sustain us. Shared generator cost averages $5 per day so please figure that into your expenses. Relief workers welcome! Private bedroom in a Northside home with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and islands. Roll down to Magen’s or Hull Bay for your daily beach time or set up your laptop office out on the deck with the cool breeze and iguanas for company.
You'll be living on a lush mountainside overlooking Islands to the North and two of the world's most beautiful beaches. It's possible to catch a taxi here but having your own car is recommended-- many of our most gorgeous spots are not accessible by taxi.
  • Dorothy is a gracious and accommodating host.

    Eric2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy is a nice lady and picked me up from the airport. I loved her place and the view from her balcony, however, it is up in the mountains and you need a car. She is helpful and can drop you off Red Hook on her way to work but would have to get back when she's off work or you get a rental. No taxis are accessible from her place. So, you're basically relying for a ride with her. I didn't want to get a rental since I was island hopping. Just needed a ride to the ferry terminal. I left after three nights and was booked to stay until July 10th. I was charged almost twice as much for the three nights I stayed. I just read her cancellation policy and it said that full refund after 24 hours of official cancellation. I cancelled Saturday night, July 1st and left the next day. I checked my checking account (debit) and the refund still hasn't been returned and I cancelled July 1st. I understand a cancellation penalty but her cancellation policy said full refund after 24 hours of cancellation yet I charged double for night basically.

There are phenomenal views of Hassle and Water Island situated in the harbor. In the evenings, one gets a clear view of the lights and activities of the town without the noise and bustle while enjoying breathtaking ocean views. This home as held parties of officials such as the Governors, judges, senators and the Christian family as they were born, graduated from university, married and aged. It has so much history and style that it can be a private retreat, a quiet space for a private wedding, honeymoon or party or a family of all ages enjoying a welcome visit to St. Thomas. It is a home that captures all of the elegance of a family that has four generations that utilized this magnificent site for parties of over 200 persons that represented all levels of Virgin Islands society. The Christian family is a family that has kept the traditions of the Virgin Islands alive while providing the comfort and accommodations of a 21st Century vacation site. All rooms have air-conditioning but also have fans that are the traditional way that most Virgin Islanders enjoy the tradewind breezes entering the home. The Villa has free parking. It is about eight minutes from the airport and three minutes from the heart of the city and five minutes from a world famous beach. A car or taxi is required for there is no public transport. You must experience Christian Villa for the family has ensured that you experience the residence in the style and manner that you deserve in St. Thomas. The Villa was restored by Dr. Christian who grew up and resided in the residence until going off to medical school and returning to St. Croix to serve the community of her father’s birthplace. Dr. Christian kept the original architecture and basalt stone (locally called “blue bitch stone”) from the actual excavation of the property. This stone is a very hard volcanic stone used by the Danes on many of the historic buildings that are still evident in the city of Charlotte Amalie, a nationally acclaimed historic city and balusters that her father and mother sat many an evening together in the early days of their 64 years of marriage as they filled the molds with concrete and applied the stonework to the structure. Throughout the residence are relics of the life of her family from her grandfather’s mahogany bed to the crystal chandelier from her mother’s bedroom that now serves as a unique and stunning planter, to the pool that has a inlaid rose at its bottom at the same location that her mother’s rose garden was and much more. It is a home that captures all of the elegance of a family that has four generations that utilized this magnificent site for parties of over 200 persons that represented all levels of Virgin Islands society. The Villa and view are just plain stunning. From the pool and sun deck there’s a 180-degree panorama: patches of crenelated green hills floating on cobalt-blue water, where the cruise ships begin making steam as the cocktail hour gets underway. They’ll exit the harbor with the sun; long lines of twinkling lights voyaging into the dusk. "Dr. Christian kept the name, Christian Villa but reversed the words as it was named by her father, for this was his pride and joy. You will agree once you see the property that you can as her father, Judge Christian, did enjoy sitting on the southern porch with a cup of hot tea or coffee as the cruise ships entered the port in the morning or in the evening with a cocktail of Cruzan Rum and coke, J & B on the rocks or a glass of wine as the cruise ships departed along with the sun giving you magnificent sunsets. All rooms have walls of solid concrete and open into their own bathroom. The southern and western porches have electrically operated hurricane screens/shutters that filters out 90% of the heat yet allows one to see the views of the harbor. At the touch of a button, you can filter out the sun, shade the porch or enjoy the brightness of the sun as it descends on the western and southern sides of the residence. And in the evenings, one can shutter the entire porch if one cares to as one leaves for additional security beyond the gated entrance. The pool, which overlooks the harbor is on the eastern side with its own bathroom and a refrigerator for those who want to access a cold drink or snack without having to go to the spacious kitchen that has a large French door refrigerator spacious enough to accommodate the tastes of all of the residents. The view of the harbor can be enjoyed through the glass French doors or windows from the sitting room, the dining room or the living room as well as from the various balconies or pool. There is a caretaker resident on the property for emergencies. There is a generator with an automatic transfer switch for those unpredictable power outages and additional amenities for those who do not want to get up early but need a snack on rising.

  • The stay at Christian Villa was wonderful. I hosted my wedding out on the terrace, and my family stayed in the villa for several days prior. First, the view is absolutely stunning. You have a grande view of Charlotte Amalie, the beautiful ocean, the marina, and several close islands such as Water Island. Second, the owner, Cora, was exceptional to work with. She was very personable, accommodating and easy to work with. She arranged to have someone meet my family from the airport and they went over the property and St. Thomas in detail, supplying answers to any questions my family had, in order to make them feel comfortable. Cora was very helpful not only with my family's stay, but additionally with the wedding. She knows everyone on the island, and anytime I had a question or needed a recommendation for my wedding planning, Cora was available to help with open arms. She offered to be at the villa the day of the wedding to help make sure everything ran along smoothly. Cora didn't just feel like the owner of the property, but a close friend by the end of the stay. Lastly, the villa is very well maintained and very, very clean. Thanks to Cora and Christian Villa, I had my dream wedding.

  • Cora exemplifies everything that I believe Airbnb desires in a host! She is the epitome of hospitality, as evidenced by her greeting us like family at the airport, getting us familiarized and settled into the villa (with healthy croissant sandwiches, salad, and juices provided after a long day of travel, that were greatly appreciated), and offering to and accompanying us to two local grocery stores for necessities. We were extremely comfortable with Cora from the very beginning, and she accompanied us to a local restaurant for delicious cuisine, as well as coordinated the VIP treatment (reserved parking at a friend's wonderful tea shop) in the chaotic downtown area. She also gave us plenty of space to explore the islands on our own, but offered the assistance of several people by phone (including herself) should we have questions about the villa, the island, etc. The villa is nothing short of phenomenal! The views were simply breathtaking from the veranda, the terrace, even by the pool! Breakfast on the veranda each day was a real treat! You are maybe one-half to two-thirds of the way up the hillside at the villa, which allows for the benefit of cooling trade winds and a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle below. We can honestly say that we feel not only that we experienced a wonderful stay at the villa, but that we were blessed with a new friend in Cora!

    RUSS2015-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I stayed at Cora's wonderful house and we can certainly say it has one of the best views we've seen. The balcony is huge and overlooks the harbor. A great place for spotting yachts! Thanks to Cora for her hospitality and incredibly clean house.

  • Amazing villa. If you're looking for something that is really going to dazzle, THIS IS THE PLACE. Best views on St. T and the villa itself is just absolutely stunning in its beauty; worth every penny. Stop searching, book it now; your future self will thank you.

  • Our large extended family rented Cora's house for a week and couldn't have been happier with our decision to forgo the hotel route. It was so great to have so many of us stay in one place but still have the privacy and space of a hotel. The amenities are new, the space is very clean and the view was amazing! The villa is rich with family history and beautiful furniture. With all the comforts of home (wifi, air conditioning, modern appliances, cable tv) plus beautiful pool. She made sure we had everything we needed to feel at home. Cora was such a gracious host really going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. She met us at the airport even taking us to the grocery store and making sure all our questions were answered. She gave us so many tips to the island. Her assistants Mr. Hunte and Ricky were just a phone call away when needed and incredibly helpful as well, even making trips to the airport for us. Nothing beat having breakfast on the veranda and enjoying the spectacular view of the harbor. We hired a yoga teacher for one morning and the large deck was a perfect spot to fit all of us.This is truly a one of a kind place to stay in St. Thomas. I would highly recommend this Villa. I feel like we have made a friend for life with Cora and would love to visit again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

  • Pierre's place is very nice. I actually rented it for a work colleague but did meet with Pierre to make sure all was good and get him settled. The view is fantastic from the mountain side as well as very cool and comfortable. Should the opportunity arise I would not hesitate renting Pierre's place again. Pierre communicated well and met us to guide us in to his home. You can't go wrong if you are looking for a clean, quiet, and comfortable place to stay in STT.

    George2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • First of all I was completely unprepared for the remoteness of the spot. It does have a stunning view of the harbor and much wanted privacy. Pierre meets you at the airport and has you follow him back which is entirely necessary. I would suggest pinging your location on a map so that you can find your way back. The roads are scary and treacherous, but by the end of the four days, I felt like a pro driving on the left and maneuvering the busted up and narrow roads. The room is adequate and clean, I have trouble sleeping anyway, I found the bed and pillows not to my liking. Also if you like hot water, which I do, you will not find that in abundance. Truly, I did not find it as annoying as I normally do since the air is warm to hot. If you like to cook there is a grill, and a two burner gas stove. I thought we might cook but we ended up going out for every meal. Pierre has renters that live there year-round, with a sweet little hairless puppy named Scooter who played with my puppy. (By the way, Pierre was fine with having my service dog there, I would just suggest if you plan to bring a dog make sure it is well behaved, there's a lot of places for it to run away). Also, Lauren and Ryan, Scooter's mommy and daddy, we're very welcoming and helpful at pointing us to good places to eat such as the Blue Orchid, which is about five minutes away and absolutely beautiful and delicious. We had a really nice time and my only real complaint was that I(we) couldn't stay longer!!!

  • Location was as described on the site. Great views. Pierre was very friendly and was able to answer all our questions. He even picked us up at the airport. We did not have a car so we used taxis. 7 dollars each down to the waterfront or back up to the apartment from the waterfront was the standard rate. Some people would try to charge us $10 each but it can be found cheaper. A car would have been very helpful in saving money and time, as the location is on the mountain top. Just walking up the driveway could be challenging for anyone unsure on their feet. We walked down to town a couple times but would not recommend this. One morning Pierre even saw us walking and gave us a ride into Havensight. Room was comfortable and has AC and a ceiling fan. Had to kill a couple roaches and catch a couple baby lizards in the room but this is pretty understandable in the islands. Sibs bar/restaurant is a short walk down the hill where they have good food and drinks. Walking back up the hill would be quite the hike though and quite dangerous after dark due to traffic on narrow roads with no shoulders. Overall we had a great time. Our stay was cut a bit short due to personal reasons back home but Pierre was understanding and returned our portion of money as per his cancellation policy.

  • I stayed at the airbnb from Nov 12 - Nov 19. Pierre was such a gracious host. He confirmed my stay before my arrival and planned to meet me at the airport so I could follow him to the studio. Now, I didn't know that the Thrifty car rental was not actually at the airport but rather down the street. I called for the shuttle but Pierre was kind and just took me instead. After I got my rental, I followed Pierre to the studio. It would have been impossible for me to find the studio without following him. Once I arrived at the studio I pinned the location on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, so I was about to find my way back every time. St. Thomas roads are hilly and narrow. There are sharp turns and occasional potholes. The speed limit is 10 or 20miles but many people drive 35-40 mph. You must always remember to drive on the left side. I suggest a small car for the inexperienced island driver; I had a Toyota Yaris and it worked fine. The location of the studio seemed far upon arrival but after the second day; I realized that it was really close to town. It was a good centralized location and I always found my way back. The kitchen area was very clean. I enjoyed the mini refrigerator and mini stove (2 burners). It came equipped with dishes, silverware and pots and pans. This was important to me because I knew I would not be eating out for every meal. The grocery store, Pueblo, is not too far from the house - so I stocked the fridge (keeping in mind it wasn't that big) and was about to have food for the week. The studio has wifi and satellite cable. Which worked just fine. My mobile provider is Sprint and I had signal most of the time; the exception was when I was in heavily wooded areas. The bathroom was very clean. If you're familiar with island life; then you know that it's customary to not have hot water. The water is more like room temperature which makes sense because the climate is hot year around. The studio is very comfortable. We kept the ceiling fan on most of the time and put the A/C on when we got real hot, mostly when cooking. But honestly, the A/C made it too cold for us most of the time (which is a good thing) so we didn't use it throughout the night. The studio was big enough for me and my fiancé to share. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. It was wonderful waking up to the view. Pierre's place was great and he is an awesome host. He provided us with advice on other matters as well; I really appreciated all his help on our stay.

  • This rental was amazing. It was centrally located with close proximity to shops, bars, and the port. The neighbors were very friendly and always gave great recommendations for things to do (they also had a very sweet dog). The rental was very quiet and we enjoyed a lot of privacy with the most amazing views (as pictured on his post). Also, Pierre was very attentive and always one phone call/text away. He was very nice to us and picked us up from the airport and drove us to the car rental spot. He was also very willing to offer recommendations for dinner spots and things to do. Best Air B&B ever! Highly recommended.

  • Pierre was great. Very welcoming and picked us up from airport. He's there if you need him and he lets you enjoy your time if you don't. Great host. Amazing views, secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Don't try walking to town. The hills will kill your legs. Take a cab to town and then use the safari to get around while out.

This one bedroom apartment is in walking distance from a local bar and restaurant and a nature trail to the infamous Magen's Bay Beach. A rental car is suggested because it is not located on the local transportation route but you can also utilize the local taxi services. Complimentary water and local rum samples will be provided to all guests along with all other mentioned amenities.
It is in a quiet neighborhood located on the Magen's Bay Road. About 7 minute driving distance from the Mahogany Run Golf Course and a 5 minute drive to Famous Delite formerly known as Udder Delite where you can get one of their famous milkshakes.
  • Wonderful space - exactly like the pictures. Very clean and well maintained apartment. Close to Magens Bay, and easy drive to Charlotte Amalie, or Red Hook. Definitely rent a car. The views of the ocean and landscape are very beautiful. While there isn't a/c, the constant breezes and ceiling fans made it comfortable at all times. Apryl is lovely!! The neighbors are quiet and very friendly. I would definitely return!

  • What a beautiful and serene location, a cozy place and a helpful host! We loved staying at Apryl’s place, it was just as described, really clean and uncomplicated. Apryl left us a couple of bottles of cold water in the fridge – so thoughtful! She made sure we had all we needed, was accessible but not intrusive. The place itself was great – gorgeous view of the ocean, well taken-care-of apartment, stable WiFi and a TV where you could log in your Netflix or Hulu account. The lack of AC never became a problem – the warm ocean breeze made the temperature perfect. What we loved most is that Magen’s beach was a trail-walk away (about 30 min of moderate hiking). Lastly, we didn’t rent a car, spent a lot of time at the beach and would call a cab when needed, that arrangement worked for us. If you want to explore a lot of locations on St.Thomas during your stay, consider renting a car, because taxi charges do add up. All in all, we really enjoyed Apryl and her place and would definitely recommend you staying with her!

  • We really enjoyed the stay in Apryl´s place. The apartment is clean, equipped. The view is exactly as on the pictures. What more you can wish then morning coffee with scenic view

  • To say it had a view to die for would not do it justice..Apryl's place has a view to rise for...Majestic serene and glorious sunrises greet you every morning and to watch the day close is just as beautiful. Her place is everything you want if you truly want to experience island living. Not in the tourist mix but close enough if you want to explore. Apryls place was immaculate..everything you might think you need is there.. She was available and contactable if you needed her. Her Cozy spot was everything I hoped for.. you will not be disappointed...trust me. Thank you Apryl.. I will be back.

  • Great host! Great place! Great stay! We loved staying at Apryl's place. It is a cozy one bedroom and just what we wanted. We were about a 35 minute walk to Magen's Bay which is one of the worlds top beaches. It's all down hill one way and uphill the other but it got easier as the days went by! We cooked and enjoyed our meals on the porch overlooking the mountains, ocean, and other islands. Apryl was kind and extremely accommodating, always a phone call away if we needed anything. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back! We love St Thomas!!

  • Amazing place with a gorgeous view. Definitely will want a car to get around, but my girlfriend and I did pretty fine without :) Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking to relax on an island.

    Jacob2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cozy spot was exactly a cozy spot. It was nestled in the hills of St Thomas with a beautiful view of the greens and ocean. Apryl was very accommodating. She met us at the car rental place and we followed her to her place our first day, which was amazing since we have never been there before and wasn't sure where we were going. She left us a sweet surprise of fresh fruit, flowers and a cute bag of goodies for us and my daughter. It was a nice surprise. We were very close to the beach which is what we wanted and checked out Brooks Bar our first night. Brooks bar was relaxing and great local food. The cozy spot wasn't to far from Charlotte Amalie or the airport. I would advise of the steep decline of the driveway which made it a bit of a challenge considering we have never driven on roads with such incline and decline. We ended up parking in the side parking spot just below our little parking spot due to the fact that we had a hard time backing out and driving back up the steep hill and not having enough momentum. After the first day we got accustomed to it and it was no big deal. It was very hot and humid. The cozy spot had ceiling fans which helped alot. A/C would have been a bonus but we made due and loved the experience all around of the island and being able to explore and enjoy the culture of St Thomas without being in the hustle and bustle of a hotel or resort. If your not concerned about steep drive ways or A/C, I would totally recommend the Cozy Spot. Quite and quaint.

  • Apryl's place was great! The view and the breeze were amazing. The house is located very close to Magen's Bay Beach but I do recommend that you rent a car since the house is located on a hill and there aren't any sidewalks to walk on the street. Apryl was very flexible. We had to change our check-in time since we experienced a few flight delays but she was very accommodating. The house is definitely cozy and is the perfect spot if you want to avoid those expensive luxury hotels.

  • She was very welcoming and nice she Evan gave us an upgrade which made my trip the best

    Mona2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do no do the view justice. The view will wake you up. Breathe taking and calm. You have a clear view of the airport and can see planes take off and land. The location has nothing in walking distance, but you need a rental car regardless of where you stay on the island. A rental car will give you the most out of your trip. Taxis are pricey and unreliable. Shirley and her husband are very kind! They gave us great suggestions on how to make the most of our time. Shirley was attentive to all my requests. She put out a really cute breakfast display every morning. They do have a dog, Jojo! He will never turn down a belly rub. The room had AC, and the bed was comfortable!
