Introducing Airbnb.org: Opening homes in times of crisis
Our Open Homes and Frontline stays programs were inspired by hosts like you. Today, we’re proud to announce they’re becoming Airbnb.org, a new nonprofit that opens homes in times of crisis.
Airbnb.org is an independent 501(c)(3) that’s supported by our host community. Since 2012, you’ve hosted over 75,000 people—from essential workers on the frontlines of COVID-19, to evacuees from the world’s deadliest natural disasters. And in the past two years, donors have raised over $1 million USD for these efforts.
The badge recognizes hosts who have at least one active listing offering free stays in support of Airbnb.org (previously Open Homes and Frontline stays).

The badge celebrates hosts who have an active listing on Airbnb and have signed up to donate a percentage of their payout from each stay.
What is Airbnb.org’s relationship to Open Homes and Frontline stays?
Airbnb's Open Homes and Frontline stays initiatives are transitioning to Airbnb.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Though Airbnb shares community members and team members with Airbnb.org, Airbnb.org is an independent organization with an independent board of directors. You can learn more about Airbnb.org here.
Where does the Airbnb.org supporter badge appear?
The badge will appear on both your host profile and on your listing pages after you sign up for hosting for free or donating. Your badge will be visible now if you are an existing Open Homes host or donor with at least one active listing. If you wish to hide your badge, contact our support team here.
Does the badge impact my listing in search?
This badge is a celebration of your generous support of Airbnb.org. It does not impact how listings show up in search, and guests are not able to filter by it at this time.
Does this impact my Superhost badge or status?
The Airbnb.org supporter badge does not impact your Superhost badge or status. The badge will appear next to your Superhost badge.
Will I lose the badge if I opt-out of hosting or donating for Airbnb.org?
Yes, but the badge will reappear if you resume hosting or donating.
