Vacation rentals with breakfast in Palawan

Janette and Simon were unbelievably great hosts! This place is definitely for the “traveler” and not the “vacationer” - if you’re looking for authentic culture and adventure, this is a wonderful place to stay! The island of Culion is very small, and we were the only visitors on the island at the time! We rented out their entire upstairs, while they live downstairs. With the shared living area, they do an amazing job of being available, but giving you privacy as well. In just the two short days we were there, Janette made us four amazing meals and catered to some of us being vegetarian. By far the best food we ate in the Philippines! She’s unreal! And Simon took our newly scuba certified family on four dives. He was very willing to go slowly as we aren’t very experienced and took us to four beautiful reef spots where we saw some breathtaking marine life and views. They arranged a private tour four us to go into the village and swim in the gorgeous waterfalls. Highly recommend!!

A secluded house, to enjoy the sound of the waves and the view, often ending the day on amazing sunset. The auto-sufficient house is amazing, the sand beach is very nice with crystal clear water (no rocks/no jellyfish). I had it to myself, which was a real luxury. The complementary breakfast is so tasteful (and don’t miss the catch of the day & squid that the team cooks very well too!). Communication prior and during my stay was very good both with Lucas and Nimfa. People in the surroundings and the village are also very nice and welcoming. Fishermen also come to offer their catch of the day regularly! 2 little things that could be improved : 1. A hairdryer would be a really nice addition. 2. I would have liked to know there are niknik (sandflies) on the beach. Not that it should discourage anyone to come here (don’t hesitate to come!), it would have just helped me come more prepared with effective repellent. I am so happy I came! I recently had the pleasure of staying at josephine’s airbnb in palawan puerto princessa. The hospitaly was absolutely outstanding , and place very large and clean , everything organized . Thank you josephine for hosting us !

I was happy at Mileys, she did everything she could for us. The staff are wonderful, making them a great team. Unfortunately, I had an accident but this gave an insight to what a relaxed vibe, this beautiful place was. Being laid up in paradise wasn’t so bad after all, we loved the fresh mango iced smoothies, scrummy breakfasts and pots special Miley brewed tea. I had a walking stick whittled by Randy and arrangements were made easily to help us navigate what could’ve been a very stressful time. Miley has a unique healing nature, making me feel naturally relaxed. The evening before my accident Miley had told us her vision into making the retreat, which organically formed into a chunk of paradise at the top of the island. This took place when all the local villagers were in Covid lockdown and many had lost their jobs, the whole community were helping each other with building this project together, really is inspiring to hear. For the real travellers, not for touristy tourist! Protect it

Pobyt na wyspie był najlepszym wydarzeniem całej wycieczki na Filipiny. Przepiękna wyspa, cudowne plaże, sam pokój z cudownym widokiem. Jedzenie najlepsze, jakie zjedlismy na Filipinach, w końcu była okazja, żeby spróbować filipińskich potraw tak, jak trzeba. Załoga była wspaniała, czuliśmy się zaopiekowani w każdym momencie pobytu. Dodatkowym plusem były oczywiście super pieski Charlie i Lilly z ich szczeniakami :) Jedyne o czym należy pamiętać rezerwując nocleg na Brother Island to to, żeby dobrze zaplanować wycieczkę. Dojazd nie jest najłatwiejszy, zawsze można zamówić dojazd, ale jeżeli nie jest zawarty w pakiecie, to koszt dojazdu samochodem w jedną stronę to 3500 php plus 1500 php za transfer łodzią na wyspę. Polecam każdemu, kto tylko może, pobyt na Brother Island :)

I would highly recommend Nature’s Retreat! The name is quite accurate, and if you are looking to really immerse yourself in a beautiful nature setting away from it all, this is the place. Our crew was nine friends from around the world who gathered here over New Year’s, and to give a sense of the experience, on NYE, we all waded out into the warm shallow bay surrounded by the tropical jungle and mountains, had the hosts turn off the electricity to the Retreat and welcomed in 2020 with the only lights being the stars and bright Milky Way above. Stunning. As were the bonfire the hosts built, the trips they took us on around the islands with the property’s catamaran, the massages they organized (so cheap and very very good) and the other tours they helped us arrange. In terms of the hosts, we cannot say enough good things about Sam, his family and his crew. They are incredibly kind and affable human beings, completely professional and on top of all of the logistics and always available for any assistance or advice. And a real bonus is that Sam and his wife are incredible cooks - we learned they own a restaurant in PP, and it showed in all the meals which were very well done. There is no question the place is rustic, and it is secluded (no neighbors). And that is its amazing charm. But don’t expect to be able to just pop in and out of town in 5-10 minutes on a whim. Our only caution is, before booking, check Air Swift for available flights in and out of El Nido Lio airport. Otherwise you have to fly in to Puerto Princesa and it’s about a 5-6 hour drive to the Retreat from there, depending on traffic. Shouldn’t be a problem if you look well enough in advance (which we failed to do) – so just a lesson learned. All in all, this was a really special trip for our group, and we would really recommend you consider it for yourself.

Vielen Dank für diesen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Gerd und seine Freundin haben sich unfassbar lieb um uns gekümmert, für uns lecker und günstig gekocht und schon Tage im Vorraus mit local-tips zur Anreise auf die wunderschöne Insel Culion geholfen. Die Unterkunft selber hat den traumhaftesten Blick den man sich vorstellen kann, besonders zum Sonnenaufgang. Die etwas abgeschieden Lage sorgt für Ruhe und Gerd hat uns selbst abgeholt, sodass die Anreise ebenfalls super war. Wir durften außerdem Gerds Roller leihen, sodass wir uns flexibel bewegen konnten. Einfach ein Rundum-sorglos Paket.

Wir hatten ein gemütliches Zimmer und es war sehr sauber. Der Service war sehr sehr freundlich und behilflich. Vielen Dank dafür. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten genügend Platz und es war sehr ruhig. Zentrale Lage. In der Nähe ist ein größerer Supermarkt, ein Bäcker, ein Frühstücksrestaurant… Zu Fuß zum Strand sind es ca 10. Minuten.

Very close to the airport and the garden was quite nice. Carmel’s family also made us the best shrimp sinigang soup I’ve ever had. I would definitely stay here again and their sinigang, highly recommended !

I had a great stay at Bings place. I could check in much earlier than the check in time which was very much appreciated after my long journey. The room was clean and location was great. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi worked very poorly in the room.

Very cool location and practical accomodation ! We couldn't lock the door but it wasn't a problem because it is very very safe. Wifi was working very well ! Would recommend

Es fühlte sich wie zuhause an von Anfang an. Das ganze Personal war äussert freundlich, berratend, hilfsbereit und es wurden Tipps gegeben für die Miete von einem Scooter und einem Ausflug. Ausserdem wurden unsere Kleider gewaschen und so härzlich zusammengelegt. Das Frühstück war auch lecker. Vielen Dank.

My staff had a blast in Coron and this was all because of Prim. Aside from hosting, Prim arranged the tours as well. Rooms were comfy. Very hospitable owners & staff. The ambiance was good. There is a bar to hang out. Rooms were spacious. Breakfast included. Good wi-fi.

Jolienne was such a great host. Enjoyed my stay very much! Would highly recommend :)

We had a great time during our stay. Sir Dave and Ms. Ahrem were accommodating. The house is clean and you can request things from the caretaker if needed. Aside from a blackout during our stay (1 time), we had no other issue. Plus, it’s beachfront. Loved it!

Eine schöne Unterkunft mit leckerem Frühstück. Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren total freundlich und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es liegt direkt an der Straße also Ohrstöpsel sind auf jeden Fall nötig. Allerdings befindet es sich zum Glück nur in einer Nebenstraße, ca 5 min zu Fuß von der Hauptstraße entfernt, an der es noch deutlich lauter ist.

Together with another couple, we booked the duplex cottage set right on the beach, with direct views of the sea and surrounded by palm trees. The scenery was breathtaking, and most of the time we had the place almost entirely to ourselves, which made it feel even more special. We enjoyed stunning pink sunsets and a calm, peaceful atmosphere—exactly what we were looking for to unwind. The staff was incredibly warm, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They even lent us a speaker so we could listen to music while relaxing on the beach. We booked the Estrella Falls tour with them, where we were lucky enough to spot monkeys in the wild. They also arranged a stop at the local market for an extra touch of culture, and thanks to their help, we managed to organize our trip to Balabac as well. Definitely don’t miss arranging your airport transfer through them—it’s super convenient—as well as their laundry service. And the highlight? The outdoor MASSAGE, while listening 🌊
