Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Newtown

The Farmhouse is a wonderful stay and I cannot thank the hosts enough for a lovely long weekend away. The cottage is beautiful - charming, comfortable, and has everything you need (equipped kitchen, board games and DVDs, fire ready to be lit in the living room, wifi, warm shower, comfy bed, charger for an electric car, perfect yard for dogs). We were there in the spring and the wisteria blooming along the entrance, together with the lovely cottage garden meant it looked like something out of a fairytale. This was my first time in North Wales, and I'm hooked! We had beautiful weather (which I am told is not guaranteed year-round), and spent a lovely few days driving to local beautiful historic villages. We particularly enjoyed a long walk along Conwy beach with our pups. Even in the warm weather it got a little chilly at night, but I bought my own hot water bottle (although again that is supplied in case you forget!). I'm delighted to recommend the Farmhouse to you.

Had such a lovely stay. The cottage is cosy and comfy. It was a much needed space for a long weekend of R&R. Loved being so close to the coastal path for long dog walks, and having the lovely garden and/or squishy sofa to come back to for lazy afternoons. The area is beautiful and it was very easy to switch off. The goodies left by Linda were such a lovely touch. Linda was a fab host - there were some works going on near the house and she went out of her way to ensure we were aware of the situation and kept updated before our stay, as well as being flexible about our stay length, in case it was too noisy. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy. Thank you!

Beautiful cottage with lots of thought gone into it. The layout and amenities were perfect for us and was situated in a lovely spot! Was lovely watching the lambs in the field and the place felt very private. Plenty of beautiful sites nearby to explore. Host was very lovely and friendly. Hot tub and garden facilities went down a treat with the kids and allowed the family to relax. Thank you so much for having us we thoroughly enjoyed the stay!

Can't thank Katrina enough for opening up her little cottage for getaways. Everything was beautiful and spotless and check in and out so simple. The hottub was a well needed luxury after walking around the Welsh countryside. Cannot fault the cottage one bit and will be sure to return in the future!

Me and my family of 5 (including 2 small children) had a wonderful stay at Ceri’s house. The views are beautiful, peaceful and we felt right at home (being from the Somerset countryside!). My children loved seeing the sheep and cows every day, as well as the various birds coming to visit. Ceri’s house had *everything* we needed for our 4 night stay, and she was a lovely host. The house was difficult to find, although good instructions on the listing, we feel maybe what3words would be better used here. Coming from a non-pet family, there was a noticeable dog smell downstairs with pet hairs - which admittedly we did struggle with HOWEVER we did know beforehand that furry friends are allowed here so that’s on us. That being said - the house was really nice and colourful, really welcoming and we would definitely return given the opportunity. Thank you so much 💕

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Chloe's house in lovely Bishops Castle and are already planning to return. It's an ideally located property, perfectly proportioned with big bedrooms and having two bathrooms very much appreciated. Excellent showers with great water pressure. It's well appointed and comfortable - we all commented on how well we slept - and so conveniently situated. On street parking was no problem in the immediate vicinity and we enjoyed walks to Clun (super castle, river, pubs, and a v pretty village) and to the Powys Inn an easy 2.5 mile wander away. Evenings and dinners on the incredible terrace at the Castle Hotel with the best views you could imagine were a real highlight, and only a very short walk from the front door of the house. Chef's kiss to the whole wonderful weekend ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at the barn. Lots of room for us, a family of six adults. Comfy beds, great shower with lots of hot water for us all to shower after being on the river all day. Kitchen was very well equipped too. Would definitely come back.

Black Sheep Barn is just as described in the listing. It is far from any towns and most villages, but this gives it the seclusion and privacy that you sometimes want from a countryside break. The barn was amazing. It was spotlessly clean and the hosts were really friendly and welcoming. The little touches such as the cake on arrival and fresh eggs from the farm were lovely. It had everything you would want from an accomodation and we really enjoyed our time there. It was very relaxing, and the views are astounding. There are plenty of walks straight from the barn, also with great views. The major towns are within driving distance, so easy to get anything you need. We would recommend this accomodation and may well return in the future.

We had a wonderful stay! Emma was a fantastic host—her communication was excellent, always quick to respond and super helpful. She even shared details about events happening in the park during our visit, which was a lovely touch. The chalet was lovely and clean and had all the amenities listed. Absolutely fabulous holiday, stunning location, beautiful surroundings and so peaceful/private. The accommodation was amazing, it’s like a tardis inside! We had everything we needed, Sarah had thought of everything. We tried all the activities on site, kayaking, hot tub, bbq, fire pit and walks round the lake, the gorgeous weather helped. The dogs enjoyed all the space to explore and relax on the decking. Sarah is a fantastic host, thank you such such an amazing experience!

Our third stay at the Shippon and our two autistic boys treat it like a home from home. So relaxing I didn’t want to leave. Our youngest loves water and animals so swimming, hot tub, fussing the lovely dogs, feeding Monty the horse carrots, all while being followed around by the chickens. He was in heaven! A great base for visiting family and lots to do nearby if we want to. This time we went to hoo farm, but we were generally all happy to stay at the Shippon. The Shippon is spotless and to cosy and comfortable. Our dogs love sitting on the patio watching the world go by and Newport dog park is literally a 5-10 minute walk and they love it. Thanks so much Sara and Phil, you are always so helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

The snug little pods are a perfect place to stay, overlooking open dales with sheep and cows, ducks swimming on pond right outside. Michiala could not have been more welcoming and helpful. we had all the peace and quiet we needed but she was always ready to assist as soon as we needed anything. Her cats and dogs were as friendly as Michaela herself. our neighbours in the other pod were super friendly too ..but with two bathrooms and a perfectly equipped little kitchen between us it never felt crowded. we loved being able to bring our own bedding because we don't like thick duvets, this meant we slept really well and felt absolutely at home.

Me and my partner went with the dog, we had one of the best times in this spot, really relaxing to be at the pod and then travelling around the villages was lots of fun. Was always nice to come back to the lovely pod! The kitchen had everything you needed as well

The stay at Hendy Bach was lovely. It felt very cozy and had beautiful views from all windows. Our family and dog had a great time with nearby attractions. Hosts were kind and responsive. Would love to come again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house was very clean and tidy and Clare went above and beyond with complimentary cake and fizz on arrival. Clare was very responsive when we had questions about the area. The house felt like a home, and it was great to be able to make the most of the spa pool after a day out. We would definitely book again.

Brilliant stay. Lodge was spotless on arrival, hosts were flexible with arrival times and we had a lovey stay. Lodge is a great size for a family of four (even with teenagers). Hot tub was lovely and well maintained and table tennis table was brilliant!

Well what can we say about this little piece of heaven? It is absolutely stunning! Check-in was easy and everywhere was spotless. All the little touches make such a difference (milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate blocks, shower kit, cleaning products etc.) and made it a real home from home. The bed linen was great quality and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and the water/shower was always hot. We were very lucky with the amazing weather (thanks Helen!) and utilised the deck so much when we were there. We even brought dinner home on one night rather than eating out as the view was perfect. Helen provided lots of information about local places and things to do, which was really useful. We didn't want to come home and will definitely be back. Thank you.

I booked this stay for my parents as a Christmas present after they had a difficult year in 2024. They said they absolutely loved the space and it was exactly what they needed. A peaceful retreat with gorgeous views and stunning walks just on the doorstep. They said they will be booking again and look forward to spending some more time at this wonderful place. Thank you so much Delyth for helping them to have a much needed break away in a wonderful cabin and location.

This was a magical find. We loved the little welcome touches - eggs, bread and Welsh cakes. We immediately felt welcome and at home. And we loved the animals - horses, goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens. We didn’t want to leave! This was the perfect home from home for our start on the Glyndwr Way. Many thanks Lawrie and Sally. We loved our stay at river cottage! It was so peaceful and the house was so cosy. We loved watching the sheep (from the comfort of the sofa) drinking from the river in the mornings. Angela was a great host and quick to respond to any messages. We walked round Hafren forest which was lovely (about 30-40 mins drive away) and climbed Snowdon (a 2 hour drive away). Also had a great Chinese from the village in Llanidloes. All in all, would recommend for a tranquil escape to the country.

We had a lovely stay at Simon’s beautiful cottage. The bed was really comfy and there was no external noise (apart from the sheep!). It was such a peaceful few days and perfect for us with our 7 month old daughter and dog. The cottage is set on the hillside with stunning panoramic views. The garden is fenced all the way round and there’s a perfectly placed bench to watch the sunset. The interior was kitted out to a high standard and had all the basics you would need. Simon was very friendly and offered some great local recommendations. We will definitely be back one day to visit again - thank you!

Nicola's cottage couldn't be more cosy and comfortable. It's in an ideal location for stunning hikes in any direction, and if the weather isn't kind, then the cottage is the perfect place for snug afternoons reading by the the fire. We absolutely loved it!

Hugo and Nicola are amazing people, their home is incredible. They helped me create a beautiful evening to propose to my girlfriend during our stay. I made use of their offer to prepare a home-cooked meal as an added extra and it was outstanding. the home is fantastic. It's peaceful, scenic, brilliant for a young family or a couple. We took our dog, she had a great time in the surroundings. we made use of the padel court and the sauna. We will definitely be returning, and not just because it's where we got engaged. thank you so much, Hugo and Nicola

Our week was blessed with beautiful weather which only complimented the cottage, which was small but lovely and well equipped with everything we needed. The cottage was lovely and clean with great sitting out areas both on the patio and in the beautiful gardens. Beth made us very welcome and was on hand if needed. Lovely walks in the area and also within short drives away. Very handy into Betwys which had some nice shops and places to each out, especially The Royal Oak which had lovely outside sitting areas.
