Lake houses in Lake Atitlán

We had a wonderful time in this lovely little house and enjoyed its serene and beautiful surroundings. Juan was friendly and helpful and quick to reply to any questions or requests we had. Would happily come back anytime!

Our three night stay at the Glass House was fabulous...beyond words really. It is now our favorite Airbnb in the world! I intentionally chose our stay during April's full moon which created an even more magical experience at the Glass House. We actually had no idea that the view would be so amazing - gazing over Lake Atitlan with views of 3 volcanoes perfectly in the middle of our gaze. The space was absolutely perfect. Accommodations stylish and modern, with amazing interiors and furniture designed by the owners. Loved the fact that the location is so unique and private. One must travel by boat to the property's private dock to access the house. Venturing out to other lakeside pueblos is a quick and inexpensive boat ride away - where a boat taxi can pick you at the dock...you just have to wave a flag for them to come get you. We enjoyed preparing meals in the amazing kitchen overlooking the Lago. So impressive! I could go on and on. If you are lucky to stay here- do not hesitate!

This place was absolutely beautiful. The ladies that came and cooked for us were amazing. Food was amazing and so worth hiring them to cook for us. There really isnt anywhere to get food from around the area. Josue went and purchased the groceries for us and made sure that we had everything we needed. I cant wait to book this place again.

We loved our stay! The hosts are very communicative and helpful. Check in instructions were clear and communicated well beforehand, and if any issues came up they were sorted immediately (we ran out of gas for the stove at one point, and it was fixed and replaced within 15 minutes!). The gardener was super nice and checked in on us regularly. The views are incredible and the house is comfortable. The wifi was strong and consistent for remote work. Definitely bring things from the supermarket prior to arrival so you don't have to boat back and forth. It's an eco house, so yes there are bugs, but nothing scary or that really impacted our experience. It's a really great spot if you're looking to escape!

Casita Piegatto was a wonderful place to relax and take in nature and the beautiful surroundings. Alvaro, the house manager is absolutely wonderful and truly made our experience fantastic! He helped arrange anything we needed and was always available. It would be tough to be there without him because it is a very remote location and there is not much near by. I have a few notes, did not bother us but will be helpful to know ahead of time… -2 bedrooms not 4 bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms that have walls & doors that close. The other two are open areas that everyone walks by to get to the bedrooms or upstairs. There are sliding screens but the rooms are not private and do not have doors that shut. -200 very steep steps to the property. Must be able bodied to stay here. -A/C does not work in all rooms. doors/windows do not have screens. Many bugs and rain is unpredictable so leaving the windows open at night might not be the best idea. Highly recommend this property! It was great!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mayalan Atitlan. The property was absolutely beautiful, with a fantastic view of the lake from the dock. The room itself was spacious and clean, with a well-appointed kitchenette. The bed was really comfortable as well. Those looking to book the property should be aware that it is a little isolated. The property is 10 to 15-minute walk from the San Pablo public dock, and a 10 minute tuk tuk ride from both San Juan and San Marcos. This means that tuk tuk drivers often ask for extra - just be prepared to negotiate!

Our stay was absolutely incredible!!! It’s not the easiest place to get to, but that’s the point! Suli’s instructions helped us to arrive seamlessly and all of her recommendations were great. Galileo was so helpful and even took us for a beautiful hike! I can’t recommend this place enough- it was magical!!!

Stunning place! Just amazing. We had the best time with our two boys (age 3 and 5, so just big enough to walk the steep stairs). Spectacular views. Secluded, yet close to everything and very easy to catch a lancha to the other pueblos. The house is spacious, high ceiling and tasty furniture. A place you would want to live. And never leave. Dock is a bit high, but there’s a small «beach» just next to it where it’s nice to swim. Isla Verde next door has great food and nice ambient. Kristiina was super easy going and gave great advice. 10/10!

This was one of the most magical places I have ever stayed! Extremely friendly staff and relaxing environment. Wonderful escape and would highly recommend!

This was a really lovely stay! The views from the Airbnb are gorgeous and it was wonderful to have access to the lake just steps from our door. The hammock and the porch were also lovely. It is a bit remote in that you have to walk up a steep alley to get to town, but that was known in advance. There also weren’t toiletries provided so would recommend having that with you. Also would recommend taking a boat directly to the Airbnb when you arrive with your luggage so you don’t have to walk up and down the steep alley with your stuff.

Eric's place is a beautiful nature oasis. The private lake access is perfect to watch the sun go down on the lake or for a dip. The place is clean and spacious for two people. The outside space is great and we loved sitting at the breakfast bar with our coffee in the morning looking over at the calm lake first thing and the birds flying over. There are also the sweetest dogs on the site which we loved giving attention to! The tuktuk driver knew the address and it was walkable into San Marcos (15 minute walk). Great WiFi, filtered water, comfy bed, and reliable hot water. If you're scared of bugs this might not be the place for you as there are quite a few - but that is completely expected out in nature and is part of the experience 😊 Would recommend.

Wonderful place, highly recommend! Quiet and peaceful right next to a new public dock (ie easy access), and just a short walk away from the main parts of San Marcos. Sevonne was super responsive and helpful. STUNNING volcano views and a beautifully maintained lawn and garden. Thank you!

I stayed at Gonna’s place with my husband and daughter for a weekend in Santiago and we loved it! It felt like a little piece of paradise. The plants and all surroundings were so beautiful and we really enjoyed the amenities. Kayaking in the morning, warming up in the sauna, and watching the sunset from the hot tub on the lake was a real treat. And my daughter loved the pool. The beds were really cozy too. I would recommend!

Bonita casa, cómodo para descansar, amplio, el parqueo interno cabe bien 1 carro. Utensilios básicos. El único inconveniente que tuvimos fue el agua caliente de la ducha, muy complicado el uso, por más que intentamos y también la persona encargada llegó a explicarnos, también se le dificultó, costaba mucho bañarse. Por lo demás, una casa que sin duda regresaríamos!

Beautiful house right on the lake, bedrooms were very comfortable. I liked having the kitchen and lounge open air as that’s where I want to be when at the lake. We enjoyed the dogs, the friendly old cat and all the birds. Tons of flowers. Elaine was very helpful with trail info and a boat contact. We didn’t end up kayaking this time but you’re perfectly situated to do so.

Christian and his family were great hosts who welcomed us to their place. I had the pleasure of staying here for three nights, and I couldn't have asked for a warmer, more welcoming experience. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely at home. My kid enjoyed spending time with their children, from playing games to hanging out at the terrace. The home was clean, cozy, and full of positive energy. It had a fully equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, functional bathroom and we felt safe the entire time. Christian gave us a tour of the place and provided suggestions on nearby attractions and restaurants. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a stay that feels more like visiting family than just booking a place! :)

The view was amazing. Great spot to relax. Less than 10 minutes to the road where you can get a tuk tuk or about a 20 minute walk to the centre of town. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating.

The house is great and the rooms were quite comfortable. We got to our place very late but our hosts was quite understanding. the location is very central and the parking is a great help.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt bei Miguel. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am See und ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Der Garten ist sehr gepflegt, genauso wie der gesamte Poolbereich. Die Unterkunft ist durchdacht eingerichtet und bietet ausreichend Platz. Es ist sehr sauber und die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet, um einfache Gerichte zu kochen. Wir können diese Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen.
