"O blissful solitudo, or alone bliss"
Immersed in the tranquility of nature and a few meters from the Annorsi Fountain and its precious spring water, the "Rifugio del Gran Sasso" was a barn for sheep. After years of abandonment, converted for residential and receptive use, he found a second life thanks to a skilful renovation that, despite respecting the context, has used the latest technologies such as the floor-to-ceiling thermal system or the ventilated structure of the roof

The space
The house, independent and reachable with a short staircase, consists of 3 bedrooms with double bed equipped with independent bathroom and 32”TV (one also has the possibility of an additional bed) and a living room that, with the kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare food, is collected and well usable. Two of the three bedrooms, as well as part of the living room, have exposed wooden roofs. Boiseries and other wooden elements help make rooms warm and welcoming.

Guest access
All rooms in the house with their furnishings can be freely accessible to guests. Inside: the living room with sofa, TV and dining table for 7 people; the garage with automated opening (height 2mt.) where you can store, in addition to the car, bikes, skis, boots, snowshoes and from which, in winter, you can directly access the house through the room equipped with a ping pong table, with independent heating. Outside: The lawn, with table and chairs, for relaxing or eating outdoors as cooked in the kitchen or on the built-in barbecue, and the panoramic solarium with sun loungers and deck chairs to sunbathe or "to see the stars".

Other things to note
After leaving the state highway, the house is reached by 500 meters of an easy dirt road. It is located about 1200 meters above sea level surrounded by greenery. The environment is therefore mountainous so, for autumn or winter stays and to make the most of the surrounding nature, appropriate clothing and accessories are recommended: hiking shoes, poles, waterproof, backpack... For summer do not forget the costume for the high mountain tintarella. In winter, the road to “Rifugio del Gran Sasso” may be snowy. The city's snowplow is always in action to clean the streets of the area including the one that leads home. However, from late November to mid-April, on the A24 motorway (Roma-L'Aquila) and the surrounding roads are mandatory for winter tires or snow chains on board.
