There are large open spaces on the property. Feel free to spend time outside in the gardens and on the farm, take a seat on a bench under a tree. We provide frisbee, bats, balls, badminton rackets, gate ball etc.

We live just 100 m or so away from the guest house area, next to the mango tunnels. We ask that you don't walk into our garden space unless we know you are coming!

The green houses on the farm are mostly part of the mango orchard. Please ask us if you are interested in finding out more about mango farming and we will give you a look and mini run down of what goes on.

The herb garden is nearby our house alongside the compost bucket, the vegetable patch and orange trees are in front of our house. You are welcome to see them or we can show you around.

Other things to note
We live in the forest area of Yanbaru so insects are a part of life. Please understand this should you plan to stay here. We do our best to keep them out but cannot guarantee and insect free home.

Please keep the insect screens closed to keep pests out the house and coils to burn outside to keep mosquitos away when you are outside.

The bank in front of the guest house is very steep and densely overgrown with bush. There is no fence.

Parking. There are 2 spaces to park. If a third vehicle is coming, please let us know so we can explain parking area to you. The space next to the cottage is for guests in the smaller cottage.

No toothbrushes supplied ! Please bring your own.

There are snakes in Okinawa. They are nocturnal and we hardly see them but we recommend having a flashlight or keeping the lights on when outside. It’s safe to walk to our house or outside but we always use a flashlight.

My work: Mango farming, cook
I Kirsten am originally from South Africa and my husband, Shiro is from Okinawa. We’ve been living and farming mangoes here on the property since 2008. We love living in the hills rather than near the sea but the joy of living up north in Okinawa is that we have quick access to many beautiful beaches so get there often. My husband and I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and like to see people relaxing and enjoying themselves with friends and or family. Our place is unique to Okinawa in that we have plenty of space for kids to run around in, space to be away from lots of people, space to chill and breath, and space to enjoy campfires and bbqs. We would love to share this with you and look forward to meeting you.
