Welcome to Le Moulin Hugo. The flour mill was operational until 1950s and two mill ruins are still standing alongside the River Ninian which flows though the property. The Cottage sits in 14 acres of field and woodland and is a not overlooked by other properties. The heated pool is for your private use. You will be able to enjoy walks, cycling, fishing and watching the wildlife all from your doorstep. The Cottage is around 300 years old and was an animal barn, many original features remain.

The space
Le Moulin Hugo is a special place that is a Bretagne commune in its own right, once you leave the main road and sweep down the road named Hugo you are in your own space. The tranquillity of the Moulin is such a surprise given how close you are to the N24 and major towns and tourist attractions.
The pool is a below ground pool that is approximately 1.2m deep - please be aware that is will only be available from mid April to mid September as it is solar heated.
There are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs - one room has a kingsize bed, the second room has a double and single.
Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen and lounge area with patio doors to a fenced patio.
Pets are welcome but please be aware that we have free range chickens here so any dogs will need to be careful around them.
In the cooler weeks we will provide fuel for the pellet burner and an electric radiator.

Guest access
Hugo is a 14 acre property which you are welcome to explore, we have a house on site and a private patio area but please enjoy the rest of the grounds.
Pets are welcome, the property has a lockable fence around your private patio and around the pool area. We do ask that your particularly muddy furry friends are cleaned off before going back in the gîte - we have towels for you to use and a garden hose by the pool if you need it.

Other things to note
The heated pool is available from Mid April to the middle of September.
In the winter the cottage is heated via a pellet burner (we provide the fuel) and a portable plug in radiator.
There is some road noise from the N24, but there are no roads through/past our property.

Hugo sits between two major tourist areas - Josselin on one side is designated a City of Character with a fabulous castle, Gothic cathedral and the Nantes-Brest Canal. Josselin holds market in the square each Saturday. To the other side is Ploermel, a lovely town for shopping and restaurants - their market day is Fridays. The water sports and golf resort of Lac au Duc in minutes away, there is a well known Hydrangea walk around the lake. Further out from Hugo you'll find the main cities of Vannes, Lorient and Rennes and a host of smaller coastal villages with so much to offer.

Hi , we’re Emma & Andy. We moved to Brittany in 2019 to start a new adventure. Between us we have fully renovated the cottage into our beautiful gîte and tamed the grounds around so it can be enjoyed by our guests. We have two rescue dogs who are full of fun. The gîte is separated from our house affording privacy for our guests, but we are on hand should you need us. We are both fully vaccinated against Covid. We look forward to seeing you here soon, à bientôt.
