Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Step back in time and enjoy a stay in the peaceful & historic village of Port Sunlight. This original, grade 2 listed, black & white fronted house with its dramatic barley twisted chimneys has all the modern amenities you require for a relaxing stay. The house is the perfect base to explore the surrounding areas of Wirral, Liverpool, Chester and North Wales and is just a short walk from Port Sunlight train station, Gladstone Theatre, a quaint coffee shop, the local pub and nearby restaurants!

The space
The living room has just been redecorated and has a large comfy sofa and snuggle chair, chess and other board games, a new smart TV and a vintage record player which sounds amazing. You’ll have to put up with my record collection though ! Although with classics from Dusty Springfield, The Rolling Stones, Abba, Madonna, Madness, and many more there must be something that takes your fancy!

If you are visiting Port Sunlight and need to do some work during your stay there is a desk overlooking the beautiful park / dell, and with superfast wifi in the house it really does makes the perfect working space.

The kitchen has also just been redecorated and has all the modern appliances you would expect including a dishwasher and washing machine. There are original features in the kitchen with a small pantry and the original drying maiden.

There are two bedrooms (one with a king size bed the other has a double bed). Both beds have new Hypnos pillow top mattresses, and with super soft bedding, pillows and throws you won't want to leave the house! . The larger bedroom room has a small sofa and a dressing table which with views of the Dell you can watch the village people coming and going.

There is a huge bathroom upstairs which I have just had renovated! There is now a separate shower as well as the bath, the room has also been freshly tiled and new flooring. It's gorgeous!

There is a small yard area with outside seating for sunny days. There is also a fully functioning original outhouse toilet, clean and recently whitewashed, handy if you get caught short!

I have recently set up in an insta account to show updates to the house, events in the village etc. Its @stayinportsunlight . A previous guest also did an amazing little video of the property and some of the village so if you are undecided on whether to book Barley Twist this might help make up your mind (hopefully in favour of booking!). I have put a link to the video in the insta bio :-)

Guest access
The whole of the house is available apart from a small yard building which has storage stuff in.

Free parking is at the rear of the property in the courtyard so it is easier to access the house via the back door, and you can usually park right outside the house. Plenty of free parking is available around the house.

Other things to note
Feel free to contact me with any special requests and I'll do my best to accommodate you. This is my first Air Bnb so if there is anything you need, but don't see, send me a message and I can see if I can sort something out! When you arrive there will be the essentials waiting (milk, butter, bread etc), also some home made brownies! The house is always stocked with tea, coffee, and all condiments you would expect like salt, pepper, olive oil, tomato ketchup (Heinz!) etc.

Being a dog lover myself I welcome 1-2 medium sized dogs, the property isn't big enough for anymore and I ask that they aren't left in the property on their own for long.

The property doesn't really lend itself to babies, but older children are welcome. But please get in touch to discuss, I have had babies stay but I don't have cots or high chairs, but it might be that you can work around this if you have travel cots etc.

There is a JayB available in the house, if you want to use this then let me know and I can have this made up for you, there is an additional £10 laundry cost for this.
