Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The Crow's Nest Tiny House sits nestled on Old Crow Ranch, a 70-acre working livestock farm, a true example of thriving Maine farmland. You'll be surrounded by fields and pine woods in Durham, Maine. Just outside Freeport and only 30 minutes from Portland, this cozy space makes a calming retreat away from the city - for a night or for a week. Fall asleep listening to the peepers and gazing at the stars, drink your morning coffee while looking out at the cattle grazing in the fields.

The space
The Crow's Nest Tiny House will be your space. We’ve got many great things happening all the time, check out #OldCrowRanch & #OCRTinyHouse on Insta to follow along.

The Crow's Nest has a heat pump for heat and A/C. It has an electric 2 burner stove, a toaster oven, a small fridge/freezer and a large sink. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious for a tiny house with a shower and a flush toilet.

There is a queen bed in the loft and a daybed on the main floor which converts to a double bed (please let us know if you’d like us to set the couch up as a bed for you). All cotton dish rags, towels, sheets, pillows and blankets are provided for you. There are plenty of outlets in the #OCRTinyHouse.

The kitchen is outfitted for cooking your meals. There is the option of buying meat, raised right here at Old Crow Ranch, from our farm store when you get here or in advance of your arrival through our online farm store. There will be homemade granola and milk waiting for you, as well as some cooking essentials (coffee, tea, olive oil, salt & pepper, sugar, etc).

There is wifi at the farm store but it doesn't quite reach out to The Crow's Nest Tiny House. (No WiFi in the tiny house, you may access it at the farm store if you need it for something, most cell services work here).

Guest access
A 30 minute farm tour given by Seren or Steve is available if you'd like to see the ranch. Otherwise, make yourself at home in the yard around the tiny house and exploring the woods and pasture right out your front door.

Other things to note
We do not allow pets.

You may not go into buildings other than the tiny house without Seren or Steve.

Fences are electric and will shock you.

We compost and recycle.

Cookware is cast iron and stainless steel.

Please drive only on gravel. Stay off the grass especially in the spring.

Neighborhood highlights

Durham is a small town with a very rural feel, while being remarkably close to bigger towns with lots of art, social and culture: Freeport, Brunswick, Portland, Lewiston & Auburn.

Walking distance is Runaround Pond Park & Chesley Meadows Preserve. A 10 minute drive down the road is Bradbury Mountain State Park.

The fields and and forests of Old Crow Ranch are a delight to walk through. Wend your way back through the logging roads and find the "big pines."

My work: Old Crow Ranch & IATSE Local 114
I am Seren. I live on a livestock farm in Maine: Old Crow Ranch. I'm a professional stagehand and I grew up frying seafood at fairs and festivals. I love good food, community, family, audiobooks, and impromptu dance parties. My favorite type of dance is contact improv. I am a mother hen and fastidious about taking care of people and places. I have traveled extensively and have "couchsurfed" a lot. Life motto: We are all individuals, yet worldwide, we are all human and all the same.
