Town house with pool, valley and sea views.

JuliaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great place to stay for holiday. The house is very well-maintained and has everything that’s needed (including deck chair, parasol, beach towel etc.) We’d have loved to stay longer as it would have been an ideal base to explore Gozo, unfortunately we had to cut the stay short as there are quite a few construction works going on in the neighbourhood - and both my partner and I really prefer somewhere quieter. It’s a shame, as we can tell the place would have been great and truly quiet if it wasn’t for the construction going on, and those are outside Matthew’s and Elaine’s control. But Matthew and Elaine has been super responsive and helpful, they’re also understanding when we decided we’d cut the stay short. Appreciate that it’s less than ideal for both parties but I cannot commend them enough for dealing with the request swiftly and being so understanding.

We absolutely loved our stay - cracking location with stunning view from the balcony and very comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. But most of all we loved meeting our very welcoming hosts, hearing about the history and community of Mdina - it really was the highlight of our stay in Malta . Thank you for your hospitality and friendship

Id-Dwejra House of Character with private pool

FrankieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Francesca was a great host, so flexible with check-in and check-out and attentive but not overbearing. The house was even better than expected, it felt so grand and seemed to go on forever. The pool and pool area was idyllic and very private. Only 15 mins from Valletta by car, you can use bolt and uber too so that was perfect. There was a dishwasher and washing machine both with liquid to go with which was helpful. Would recommend this gorgeous place to everyone, even my nemesis x

Cosy house in quiet historic town

SoniaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lucy's little house is a special and wonderful place, we loved staying in Cospicua, away from the chaos but very comfortable to all areas of Malta, Valletta is a 5-minute ferry ride away. Lucy is a great host, we didn't meet her in person but she was always interfaced with us and given the right directions. Highly recommended!

Gozo holiday home. Serenity, Sun, and Sea

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We enjoyed our stay at Ana’s very much. We loved staying in an authentic stone farm house. The house was very clean and comfortable and only a short drive to any attractions we visited. The real bonus to staying here is Ana’s welcoming warmth and all the knowledge she has on both things to do and places to eat on Gozo and Malta

Seafront Apartment With Picturesque Bay Views

NigelRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Karl's airbnb 2 bedroom apartment (Seascape) is quite simply excellent and my wife and I, together with the couple we went with, were all agreed one could only give Karl 5 out of 5 under all headings. The apartment was super clean with new appliances and all the crockery, cutlery & kitchen utensils one could possibly need. Both double bedrooms were nice & spacious with comfortable beds. The apartment's balcony is an added bonus and enables guests to enjoy a relaxing tea or coffee (or maybe a glass of wine) whilst gazing at the pretty harbour just opposite. It is a peaceful & relaxing place and the small town of Marsaxlokk is a good place to base oneself for exploring the area, or indeed further afield on Malta & Gozo if you wish. What else is there to say. We were all very much sold on the place and we are fussy. Having done lots of prior research we were all really pleased to have settled upon Karl's apartment. There was nothing else in Malta that caught our eye in the same way.

Palazzo Penthouse with Panoramic Private Jacuzzi

EdRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our room was exactly what we saw when we booked it. Spectacular views, beautiful and comfortable room. Nice little extras we didn’t know about like breakfast every morning, port & whisky nightcap available when we came back at night, snacks provided, water everyday with the cleaning service and a wonderful sunset cruise of Valletta and the Three Cities. Nicole was an absolute pleasure providing great, friendly service and offered to store our luggage for the day as we were flying out at night. Overall a 10 out of 10 and we will 100% be back. Malta is a beautiful vacation destination with so much to do and see. We LOVED our stay!!! Be aware that they set off cannons on the island as a tribute to saints, if we didn’t learn that on a tour we may have thought we were under attack one morning. :-)

Your guide to Malta

All About Malta

Floating in the southeastern Mediterranean between Sicily and Libya is Malta, the tiny archipelago nation whose main islands, Malta, Gozo and Camino, are famous for their UNESCO sites. Over the last 7,000 years, several civilizations have left their cultural and artistic stamps on the country. You’ll find a mix of Roman, Arab, French, Italian, and British influences here, including in the language, Malti, a Siculo-Arabic dialect that’s Semitic in origin and has taken on some distinctly European words.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the capital, Valletta, you’ll find incredible architectural variety, including prehistoric temples and the perfectly preserved back streets of Vittoriosa, the original home of the Knights of Malta. Apart from its cultural importance, Malta has plenty of outdoor attractions to explore, including fossil-studded cliffs, secret coves, blue lagoons, peaceful beaches, and some of the best scuba diving in the region.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Malta

Due to the warming influence of the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas, Malta’s temperature remains mild year-round. While summer is the prime season for the beach and for visiting, temperatures in spring and fall are still ideal for ocean dips, sunbathing, and exploration. Even in the winter, you can also enjoy a vacation rental in Malta — but don’t forget to pack a sweater or light jacket.

Top things to do in Malta

Valletta

Valletta, the capital of Malta, is just 24 square miles, making it the smallest capital in Europe. The entire city itself is a UNESCO Heritage Site, so just walking around is a marvel. Explore St. John’s Co-Cathedral, a richly ornate example of Baroque architecture; and the Upper Barrakka Gardens, parks created in 1661 for the Knights of St. John, with fountains, sculptures, and arched colonnades that boast glorious views of Malta and the harbor.

Gozo

A 45-minute ferry ride from Malta is Gozo, a rural island with farmhouses and fishing villages as well as ancient treasures like the 5,000-year-old Ġgantija temples, a UNESCO Heritage Site and the oldest free-standing monuments in the world. Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu Basilica is also not to be missed, with its scenic views, 15th-century history, and sculptures made with Maltese stone. And for those with PADI cards, the island’s reefs, caves, and shipwrecks make it one of the best diving sites in the Mediterranean.

The Hypogeum

The third UNESCO Heritage Site in Malta is the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, an underground complex that is thought by archeologists to have been used as a sanctuary and cemetery. It was cut entirely out of limestone with prehistoric tools like flint and antlers. The Hypogeum dates from 3600 B.C.E., making it one of the best preserved and most essential structures from the Neolithic era.
