Blue Sky a terrace between sea and the mountains

ToniRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Annamaria was an amazing host. Extremely helpful with directions and suggestions of places to go. She arranged our transfers for us to and from the airport, which was very helpful. When we had difficulties finding something, I could reach out to her and she would respond almost instantly with help. The location is amazing, beautiful views. As others have commented, there are a lot of steps up from the beach if you chose to make the walk, but it's very easy to walk down and take the bus back up. She made several restaurant reservations to us which we all very good. I would definitely recommend Annamaria's place to anyone looking to spend a memorable time in Positano.

Ignazio and Darcy were absolutely the best hosts and were so helpful. The apartment was stunning, especially the view from the terrace. I would highly recommend staying here especially if you're looking for a quiet home away from home.

Seaside apartment in Stazzo (Acireale)

ElisaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We had a great time at Livio's apartment. Our highlight was the balcony with sea views and direct access to the sea. The apartment is located on a private street and is therefore very quiet and safe. In October it is very quiet in the area and therefore ideal for relaxing. Cleanliness and equipment of the apartment was top. We would like to recommend the apartment to everyone and would come back any time!

The Little House,Lake View, private garden&parking

ThereseRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We couldn't have picked a more adorable place to stay for a week and celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The Little House is hidden away in a quiet town on Lake Como ... exactly what we were looking for. And the view ... my God, the view. The minute we got there, we sat on the terrazzo and didn't move for over 3 hours. The weather ended up being rainy part week, but it served as a reminder to slow down, relax and enjoy the home. Kathi is an amazing host, always responsive to my many questions (lol) and so friendly. She recommended the restaurant at Villa Lario for our anniversary dinner, and it was a phenomenal experience. The bar just above the apartment is also awesome. The town itself is walkable, but the bus stop to Bellagio and Como is literally at the top of the steps from the apartment, so it's super easy to catch it and go into town. Highly recommend this little gem of a spot for anyone who truly wants to experience the true local Italian lake life!

Casa al Gianni - Hut

CelinaRating, 5 starstoday
Originally we only booked the place for one night as our hotel was on the coast and we wanted to explore it against Siena. We felt so comfortable right away that we looked directly to see if the accommodation could be booked even longer. One-night extension booked without hesitation. It was simply fantastically beautiful, very idyllic. Fabio and Cristina were very nice. The animals on the farm couldn't have a better life and home. We lacked nothing. It was very difficult for us to leave and wish we had spent the entire holiday on the farm. Picturesque Tuscany vacation.

NUMERO 6 - A house with a view - Lake Como, Italy.

BethRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Beautiful 3 story townhome in the most beautiful town on the lake. We loved that we were close to Como centro but away from the crowds. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance or short drives. The home was beautiful and immaculate. The bed super comfy! And ladies, leave your hair dryer at home. It’s a good one! The views of the lake spectacular. The washer came in handy and the kitchen was well equipped. Lots of nepresso pods (thank you!) We loved staying here and making it our home away from home.

Loge Royale: an adorable nest on the sea

AngeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed for just 2 nights and wish we had longer. We have been travelling Italy for our honeymoon and this was the perfect romantic little sanctuary. Easy to get to, easy to settle in, most incredible little cove (we even had it all to ourselves for a swim one afternoon), great food nearby, feels like an authentic and very relaxed little town. Great walks on the hills nearby with panoramic views of Palermo and surrounds. Mariangela was responsive, helpful and very kind. The house is a home and we would go back in a heartbeat!

VILLA "ANGELA " Amazing sea view

SusanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
First off, read all of the reviews and double it!!! Raffaele and Angela made everything about our stay perfect! You will seriously feel like you have made a new best friend! He gave us tips on what to do, see and where to eat! He arranged our transportation from Napoli to the home and personally met us there, helped carry our bags in and made sure we were comfortable. Angela left a bottle of homemade wine ( so good!) and snacks! Raffaele also arranged shuttles to the market and to local restaurants since we did not have a car. He was also helpful with the bus and boat schedules. The house it clean, spacious, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, has air conditioning and a beautiful patio over looking the Mediterranean Sea !! The pictures on line are very representative. It sounds like I’m making this up but it’s 100% true! His communication before we arrived and through out our stay was 10/10! Thank you Raffaele and Angela for making our vacation so memorable!

"La Lambarda" tower Suite

StanRating, 5 stars4 days ago
If you’re looking for the perfect location and incredible Tuscan views, the tower suite is the place for you! Perfect for relaxation and as a base for visiting wineries and other Tuscan towns, such as Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano, the home is well-furnished and beautifully decorated. Deb and her team were kind, helpful and super responsive. She went above and beyond by helping us with anything we needed, even sending someone to pick us up when we had car difficulties. I highly recommend Deb as host and staying in the tower suite!

The MOONLIT & SUNNY COTTAGE near Florence

ShawnRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay at Alessandro and Emiliano's place was lovely! From the moment we arrived, Alessandro greeted us warmly with snacks, maps, and even arranged a dinner reservation at a beautiful local restaurant. This level of hospitality continued throughout our stay. Anytime we had a question, they responded quickly and helpfully. One evening, they even surprised us with dessert, and on our last day, they thoughtfully brought us cappuccinos before we left early for the airport. And the view—absolutely breathtaking! The home is well-equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a peaceful retreat.

Villa near Torre Guaceto nature reserve and sea

DirkRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Wim's holiday home is an architectural gem nestled amidst olive groves where one can enjoy nature, tranquility, and the beautiful architecture of the house. In the immediate vicinity, you can take lovely trips to the coast, charming villages, etc. Puglia is a gastronomic gem with many cozy restaurants (we didn't use the well-equipped kitchen very often). As a holiday home, this is highly recommended. We were two people and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Villa Colapesce

HaleyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Absolutely stunning location - makes you feel like you’re living in a giant stone sand castle. Large iron doors open directly up to the sea and the view from the kitchen window is dreamy. The area is quiet and private. Outside the home does not feel touristy at all. Just 25-30 minutes away is Ortigia, the perfect spot for daytime shopping or going out for a delicious meal. I will stay here again - you just can’t beat that ocean front view 🥰

This place was absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean. Sabrina is the most friendly, kind host that we have ever met. Highly recommend visiting Portovenere, and dining in Fezzano at La Bitta for magnificent seafood! A brilliant stay, thank you Sabrina.

Veronica was very nice, checking in and out was a breeze. What a gorgeous apartment, spacious, squeaky clean, modern amenities with old world charm. The location was great, close to the airport, nice restaurants, very charming, old world neighborhood. The neighborhood is called Ostia Antica which is on the outskirts of Rome but is has some the most well preserved ruins in Italy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I would highly recommend.

Antiqua Domus, hospitality in Val di Noto.

CatherineRating, 5 stars1 week ago
12/10 without any hesitation. Vincenzo was a remarquable host, always ready and quick to answer our most mundane questions . While it was remote from main tourists attraction, we enjoyed the peacefullness of the place and exquisite views. The house was super cosy and homey, where you could enjoy a nice coffee on the terrace in the morning and a warm fire in the evening. We would go back in a heartbeat. Grazie mille Vincenzo !! *The two dogs and the cats are a beautiful plus

wonderful villa on the sea

BenRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
This Airbnb is exceptional! The space was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2 children. Everyone had plenty of space to stretch out and relax in between trips to the amazing beach that was literally a one minute walk from the house. The interior of the house has been updated and is even nicer than what is pictured in the listing. The beds were very comfortable and we could hear the waves crashing on the beach at night as we fell asleep. We can’t say enough about what a wonderful home this was to stay in. It’s in the best location to enjoy the beach and the town of Villasimius. Additionally, the hosts are some of the nicest people we’ve met during our travels. We will absolutely be back to stay next time we visit Sardinia. Thanks so much!

Your guide to Italy

All About Italy

Italy is a country known for gastronomic delights, awe-inspiring art and cultural attractions, sweeping coastlines, historic architecture, esteemed fashion houses, and fantastical countryside. If immersing yourself in Italian city life is on your list, make sure you take in the big four metropolises of Rome, Venice, Milan, and Florence. These cities, respectively, contain the ancient Colosseum amphitheatre and the iconic churches and cathedrals of St. Mark’s Basilica, the Duomo di Milano, and the Duomo Santa Maria Del Fiore.

You could also explore the heralded wine country in Italy and seek out mouthwatering local fare in smaller cities like Bologna, the region of Tuscany, and fishing towns like Genoa. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Amalfi Coast and Italian Riviera, with their magical Mediterranean coastlines, and the Alps, with world-class skiing and the famous Lake Como, are almost too beautiful to be believed.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Italy

Northern Italy experiences four seasons and winter can be very cold, but much of southern Italy maintains a relatively temperate climate all year influenced by the Mediterranean. Spring and fall are popular times to visit because the weather is still pleasant and the number of visitors has thinned out.

Bear in mind that summer is the high season for traveling in Italy, especially along the Italian Riviera. Going in a shoulder season, or any time during the long Christmas holiday that begins on December 8 (Immaculate Conception) and ends on January 6 (Epiphany), could be your best bet, when crowds and apartment rentals in Italy are more manageable for the budget-conscious.

Top things to do in Italy

Florence

Immerse yourself in the art-rich Renaissance history in Florence. You’ll have the chance to visit many of the world’s greatest structures, including the UNESCO World Heritage listed 15th-century cathedral in the Piazza del Duomo; stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, the medieval bridge over the Arno River; and take in the museums and art galleries in the Palazzo Pitti on the south side of the Arno.

Boat into the Blue Grotto

On the coast of the jet-setting summer resort island of Capri in southern Italy is a hidden sea cave known as the Blue Grotto, or Grotta Azzurra. It’s a natural cavern where the Mediterranean waters shimmer in the sunlight, illuminating the interior and turning the water a translucent shade of indigo. There are many boats available for hire at the Marina Grande, so lay back and enjoy as your guide rows you into the depths of this ethereal cavern.

Puglia

In Italy’s Puglia region, you'll find trulli, historic cone-shaped limestone dwellings, some of which date back to the mid-14th century, dotted around the valleys. These UNESCO-protected little homes look like something out of a fantasy novel; in Italy, these houses are for rent and are among the most unique architectural structures in the country.
