The whole place is so well decorated. A great place for a short gateway from city life. And the rooftop is the best to sit down with friends for barbecue and drinks. Would love to come back!

Great place! We enjoyed our stay very much. If you are taking a taxi here, don’t trust Google Maps. Using the nearby HSBC ATM as a landmark is a better option for finding it.

Hong Kong is not all skyscrapers

KarenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at John's place. He made contact well before our stay, was super flexible with check in, and he and his local agent were reachable throughout our stay. The unit is as described. The beds were comfy, huge TV with Netflix, great kitchen with all cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment. The roof terrace was lovely and so peaceful at night. The washing machine was a welcome addition too! The neighbourhood is quiet, and the local people and dogs are friendly! It's a short bus ride to Mui Wo - download the Lantao bus app - and the ferries are frequent. All in all, we loved our stay and look forward to coming back again someday. Thanks to John & Lorna.

Modern flat in the heart of HK

LiRating, 5 stars2 months ago
It was a super surprise for my first time staying in a homestay in Hong Kong, and I saw everyone's comments that the location was good, and I didn't expect the surprise to exceed my expectations. In the core area of soho, great restaurants and cafes are just around the corner, and you can walk to the shopping malls nearby. The host is warm and thoughtful, the room is very comfortable and convenient, I have shared some on social media, introduced to all my friends, and they also want to have the opportunity to come and stay. All in all, really a very pleasant stay, thank you so much

Unique Experience with Nature (Lamma/Pak Kok)

GanRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had an absolutely delightful stay at Lucy’s place. The property is fantastic and exceeded our expectations, Everything you could possibly need is provided, and the house is well designed, making our stay very comfortable. The house located in nature, near Pakkok. Julie, who greeted us, was incredibly warm and welcoming, she waited us at Pakkok and took us to the house. The location of the house is convenient, yet nestled in the tranquility of nature, offering us the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The house itself is beautifully designed and very well maintained. The beds are comfortable, Also thanks Julie, I forgot my son’s pillow, and Julie helped me to find it and clean it, which is incredibly nice.

Modern & Furnished 2BR Apt in HK

DonnaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I stayed at Eddie’s place for three days and had an amazing time. The apartment was clean, modern, and extremely convenient. It was just a 5-minute walk from the MTR (subway) station, with over 50 restaurants within a 10-minute walking distance. In my opinion, North Point is one of the most underrated neighborhoods in Hong Kong, offering a fantastic destination for travelers who want to experience the local culture. The area is home to many traditional shops, markets, and eateries that have been around for decades. In contrast, Wan Chai, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Causeway Bay are too overrated. These neighborhoods were mainly designed for tourists and have much pricier restaurants. I am definitely coming back to Eddie’s place when I visit Hong Kong next time.

My in-laws stayed at John’s apartment for 3 weeks and they had a brilliant time there. It is spacious and spotless, all amenities are provided, and most importantly it is a short walk to get to Pui O Beach.

Double Room (Without Windows) in Kowloon [C5]

Raven ChristineRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
I stayed in Wai Yan's place for 4 nights and it was amazing. Even though it is located along the Temple Street Night Market, the noise of the area didn't bother me much. It is very quiet; you can sleep soundly at night. Just don't bring big luggages or else it wouldn't fit. It is good for a solo traveller like me. 👍

Lantau Beach Villa

IreneRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Would give Ben 6 stars if I could. Honestly one of the best hosts I’ve had in my 10+ years on Airbnb. The villa is absolutely wonderful, with beautiful surroundings. Ben’s guidebook had such clear instructions and lovely hidden gems, like a paved hike that was perfect to do with my baby in his travel stroller. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Holiday Let - Mui Wo, Lantau Island

LeoRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Most peaceful and quiet place. Close to beautiful natural areas. And that in Hong Kong! Cattle and water buffalo roaming the streets. Sometimes the only thing you can hear is a dog barking in the distance. Lots of great restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Half an hour ferry ride to Hong Kong Central, and half an hour by taxi to Hong Kong airport. Fanny and Rupert were great and interesting hosts.

Your guide to Hong Kong

All About Hong Kong

Bustling Hong Kong is far more than a megacity and financial capital: Located on southeastern corner of Mainland China, it comprises hundreds of islands, the Kowloon Peninsula, and the New Territories. Set amid rolling hills, soaring mountains, and the glistening waters of the South China Sea, the urban landscape of Hong Kong shows many different faces. Sparkly skyscrapers are ringed by narrow alleyways full of shops and markets, and throughout the city, you’ll find remnants of Hong Kong’s past as a British colony, mixed with its Cantonese heritage.

Here, historic buildings have been transformed into upscale shopping malls, and Buddhist temples peek out between high-rise apartment buildings. Beyond the buzzing activity of Hong Kong and Kowloon, you’ll find jaw-droppingly beautiful scenery, including lush forests, white-sand beaches, and even the ruins of 19th-century villages.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Hong Kong

A petty little issue like weather does not slow Hong Kong down. During the summer, the city is a steambath; however, most places are air-conditioned, providing a chance to cool down quickly. Although summer is the monsoon season, the hard rains pass quickly, so most days are still filled with sunshine. The lovely weather in spring and fall make for a great time to explore Hong Kong’s hiking trails or head to the beach on one of the Outlying Islands. Winter can get a little chilly but don’t worry — you will only need to throw on a sweater or light jacket.

Top things to do in Hong Kong

Victoria’s Peak

Take the iconic Hong Kong tram up the mountain to Victoria’s Peak, high above Central. From the peak, you can see both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. If you’re feeling hardier, you can also hike up to the peak on the Old Peak Road, a well-maintained walkway that passes by beautiful historic mansions and offers expansive vistas along the way.

Mong Kok

The bustling, ever-crowded Mong Kok neighborhood is home to several markets selling all manner of necessities, from fresh seafood to homewares. As you wander the crowded streets, the swaggering smells of stinky tofu and fish balls fill the air. This is Hong Kong at its most raw, buzzing with cacophonous noise, conversation, and culinary prowess.

Dragon’s Back

While Hong Kong offers endless hiking trails, one of the most famous is the Dragon’s Back. This stunning trail takes you up and over the tree-covered Shek O Peak to the southern shore of Hong Kong Island. It finishes at Big Wave Bay, where you can go for a quick swim in the South China Sea to cool down and then seek out fresh seafood.
