Hiking Whistler Blackcomb is one of those things that locals forget to do in the summer, but if you purchase your season's pass early then you get free access all summer long to take the gondola up and enjoy all scenic views. There are marmots and pikas to be found amongst the rocks, and glacier lakes to jump in to refresh after hiking on the Overlord trail on Blackcomb. Equally as impressive is the High Note trail on Whistler. It's 16km round trip. Last but not least, there's the Spearhead traverse for the go getters. I'd recommend hiring a guide for this one. Traversing the Spearhead mountain range was completed for the first time back in the 60’s as a winter ski trip. Now with the new addition of the Spearhead Huts, a summer crossing is possible and very rewarding experience. It is a mountaineering classic!

The gondola runs pretty much year-round with only a short hiatus in the fall for a week or two. In the summers your ticket will take you up to the Cloudraker Skybridge, a breathtaking suspension bridge that spans 130 meters 426 feet out from Whistler Peak crossing the massive Whistler Bowl. There is also the Raven’s Eye Cliff Walk that extends from the West Ridge dangling 12.5 meters (41 feet) over Whistler Bowl.
