This beach features two sandy crescents, with the south end facing the Polo Beach Club and the north side by the Fairmont Kea Lani hotel, which can become crowded with guests, cabanas, and lounge chairs. The southern end tends to be quieter. A small grassy park with showers, bathrooms, picnic tables, and BBQs is located away from the beach, but the tables and BBQs are rarely used due to poor views and proximity to resort buildings and the parking lot. While the beach offers easy access and plenty of parking, the Hawaiian name “Ke One o Polo” translates to “The sand is not thick” due to rocks scattered across the shore. Snorkeling is great around the rocky point at the north end, and boogie boarding is fun when the south swell rolls in. Swimming is enjoyable with a gentle slope, but large swells can bring dangerous rip currents, so caution is advised during those times.

A pair of beautiful sandy crescents join to form this beach. The south end fronts the Polo Beach Club and the north side the Fairmont Kea Lani hotel. At times, the north end becomes crowded with Kea Lani guests, cabanas and lounge chairs; the south end is usually uncrowded.

One-minute walk from your condo and you're at Kamaole Beach Park III, loved by locals and tourists for family fun, snorkeling, and sunset watching. There is abundant underwater life at the rocky point on the south end with corals, turtles, and tropical fish. The large grassy area is great for amazing sunsets, with a view of west Maui mountains as well as Haleakala. The best time to go snorkeling is in the morning hours to avoid the trade winds which usually fill in by late morning or early afternoon.

Kam I, II, and III are all great beaches! Kam III (closest to the condo) is great for boogie boarding and has a large grassy park area. Try stand up paddle boarding at Kam I & II in the early morning! Kam I has the longest stretch of beach. Each one has an active lifeguard on duty.

Directly across from the Maui Banyan is Kamaole Beach Park II and on either side is Beach Park I and III all less than a 10 min walk away. These sets of beaches are the nicest beaches in Maui with lifeguards, swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, turtle & whale watching (seasonal), walking paths, sand castle making, relaxing and sunsets.
