I am from Fethard on Sea and I love living on the farm and beside the sea - I hope that the people who visit our cottage will enjoy the experience
We enjoyed our stay in Grainne's cottage on the Hook Peninsula at New Year. The weather was stormy spent but we wrapped up and got out to see some of the multitude of attractions in the area - we especially enjoyed the Hook Lighthouse and a beautiful riverside walk in the grounds of Tintern Abbey. The cottage was warm and comfortable and Grainne is friendly, available and helpful.
Grainne is an excellent host. She was in frequent contact with us and always gave us prompt reply whenever we contacted her, and she kindly left the light and heating on in the house and provided us with some cookies, eggs, and fruits for our arrival as we arrived quite late in the evening. It is handy that she lives close by so she can drop by and have a nice chat with us. The cottage's location is ideal for exploring the beautiful Hook Peninsula. The Hook Lighthouse and Tintern Abbey were just a short drive from there. The cottage had all the essentials we need, and there is a very well stocked Londis in Fethard if you need to do some grocery. We love the little window in the kitchen, from where we can see the sea, and the sheep grazing on the grassland.
What a beautiful, quaint cottage overlooking the sea. We had a lovely weekend with our three children in Fethard on Sea. The cottage was extremely clean and cosy, the setting lovely. Grainne a lovely host, extremely helpful. Our children loved the space to play in the yard. Highly recommend this cottage as a place to stay. We will be returning, hopefully in the summer, to enjoy this beautiful home and the wonderful surrounding... Norah and John Heffernan, Blackrock, Co. Dublin
We loved our visit to this darling stone cottage on the Hook peninsula. Grainne and her husband Liam were wonderful hosts and live adjacent to the property so they were always there to (website hidden) is a great location for day trips to Wexford, Enniscorthy, Waterford, and Kilkenny. Don't be afraid to drive these rural roads, that's where all the treasures are! We rode the East Passage car ferry and saw wild goats! Drive the Ring of Hook and see Tintern Abby. I Downloaded a City2go map app in the states which works offline and put my phone in airplane mode so I wouldn't use data. We showed up as a moving dot, which gave us great confidence to turn down any little road and not fear getting lost in some farmers field. This is the best thing ever. Ireland is so beautiful and Sea Bass Cottage is a gem. I can't wait to come back. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again to Grainne and Liam!
We booked a 5 day stay at the last minute as we needed some time away to relax and unwind. This is exactly what we got at Sea Bass Cottage. The place is so peaceful and quiet, with only the sound of the sheep, the birds and the sea in the distance.
Grainne welcomed us when we arrived and gave us plenty of advice on what to do & see and where to eat in the area. As an added bonus she also left us milk, eggs from her own hens and home made cakes, which was a nice touch.
The cottage was exactly as you see in the pictures, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The location was ideal for walking, which we did quite a bit of, with the beach only a few minutes easy walk away. There are also plenty of places to visit in the immediate area.
We really enjoyed what was our first experience of Ireland and we will definitely be back for more. Thanks Grainne for your hospitality and warm welcome.
Grainne a été très accueillante, d'une grande sympathie, le cottage était exactement comme décris dans l'annonce, endroit de rêve avec vue sur la mer.
Sometimes one wants to keep treasures just to oneself - this is one of them. Our stay in Sea Bass Cottage was a real treasure. Beautifully situated in an area that is worth exploring in every detail. And just wonderful hosts, who share their knowledge of history, of the area, of sights, of events so very generously, warmly and humorfully, that we decided we will share the treasure of this experience with everyone looking for a very special place to stay. We enjoyed a cosy, quiet cottage that provided everything one could wish for, including the view over the sea and the bleating of sheep outside the kitchen window.
After being warmly greeted by Grainne on our arrival we spent a lovely 3 days at this fantastic cottage. Perfect for a relaxing break and great location to visit both Waterford, Wexford and the Hook Peninsula. The cottage has all the amenities you would need, and I would HIGHLY recommend sea bass cottage.
Absolutely lovely cottage and location overlooking the sea. Surrounded by fields and loveley scenery - Grainne and her husband are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The cottage itself is gorgeous with a fantastic view from the kitchen window. We will be definitely be back during the summer!

We really enjoyed our one-week-stay at Sea Bass Cottage for new year. Grainne and Liam gave us a warm welcome and were there for us whenever we needed anything. The cottage was simple, clean and nice just as we expected it to be, with sea- and cow-view, only three minutes walk to the beach. Thanks for the great time and all the best for the new born lamb!
We were very lucky to have you as guests and really enjoyed meeting you.
Our first lamb of the year is still struggling but lambs are resilient.
Spread the word and we hope you can come back and visit again.
Regards Liam and Grainne
