It pains me as this is the first time for me to write a negative review. For the sake of transparency, I need to bring up matters that happened in our property. Juan Manuel Rafo booked the fan room but we gave him the family suite when he discovered that the fan room, being a fan room, had no aircon. He was charged only $22 per night (the rate for the fan room) but the accommodation that we provided him was worth $71 per night (even at our discounted rate). It was a one-bedroom self-catering apartment that had a full kitchen, small family fridge, huge living and dining space and a spacious balcony. All this after we honored his request to arrive a month later than his check-in date because of changes in his plans. We lost potential guests because of that (as we could not alter his reservation), but none of the things mentioned above really mattered to us. It was the lack of respect for our property that was appalling. Despite repeated appeals to turn off lights, the aircon and fan that were not in use for safety purposes, our requests fell on deaf ears. They would leave the aircon, fan and all the lights on for more than 48 hours straight even when they were not around. They would be out the whole day and would not even bother to switch off anything when they leave. My assistant had to be there every morning before they left just to remind them (or turn the appliances off herself). The house also reeked with foul odor. The stench and the dirt were unexplainably unbearable. My assistant had to deal with the shock of having to pick up used condoms from the floor. A caretaker who had to come for emergency reasons (aircon and all lights were left again and neighbours were concerned about electrical overheating) also complained of used condoms scattered on the floor. Our guests who lived on the third and first floor constantly complained of the noise coming from their room as they would turn up their music so high even late at night and early morning. We reminded them several times but again our reminders fell on deaf ears. We again, almost lost other guests because of that. A caretaker called me up late one night complaining of how disrespectful Juan Manuel was. He politely reminded Juanma to rinse off their feet at the foot bath near the foot of the stairs to avoid bringing up too much sand that might cause clogging of the drains in the bathroom. Juanma turned his back without saying anything.
