professional educated guy, and very helpful, please ask me if you have any question or you need more information about my place
My husband and I recently stayed at Bassam's place and we can not recommend it enough. His place is centrally located--only a 10 minute walk from the subway and 15-20 minutes from Times Square and Rockefeller Center. The room itself is unbeatable for the price; it was spotless upon arrival and Bassam was kind enough to provide toiletries. An added bonus is that the room has a private bathroom AND entrance, so in the five days that we were there we never ran into Bassam or his roommate and had complete privacy. There is also a small fridge provided where we were able to store snacks and beverages. Bassam was very flexible and accommodating when it came to checking in and out; he worked around our schedule both times. Overall, I would highly suggest staying at Bassam's to anyone looking for an affordable private room in midtown, you won't regret it!
We stayed in NY for three nights. Bassam was a great host. The room was very clean and nice, and he asked us if we needed anything and made sure we were comfortable. The room is in a great spot near the subway, so it was easy to get around. Everyone warned us that New York was dangerous and we should be careful, but I never felt unsafe staying here. Thanks Bassam!
I'm really happy with my stay with Bassam. He was a great host and the room perfect for my stay. Him and he's friend was very open and friendly. My arrival to NYC started off rocky. Because I left my important bag on the bus. Bassams friend helped me out and offered me a ride to the train station to get to my bag. The place is great location for me to travel to locations I needed to be. Plenty of choices of restaurants to eat at. The bed was very comfortable and room was clean. The bathroom was a nice size with a spaces shower. If your coming to NYC for couple days then this is a place you should checkout. I will book with Bassam again!
Bassam was great, he welcomed us in his place, he was a door away if we needed anything.
As we were traveling on our honeymoon, we didn't see him a lot but he did come to see us before leaving and even offer us some sweet cakes.
The place is close of everything, without the bruise of time square.
The place is very clean, with lot of privacy and a great bathroom.
Bassam was very accommodating. He stayed up late on the day we got into town to give us the keys, and offered to use the kitchenette during our stay. The lock on the private entrance was jammed, but Bassam let us use the entrance through his side of the apartment, was sincerely apologetic and even offered us an extra night in the room to compensate. He also worked around our schedule to work on getting it fixed. The room wasn't flashy but was certainly clean and had all the basic amenities in place. It's worth mentioning here that Bassam gave us this room: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/1925406 even though we booked the one reviewed here. We didn't mind though, as they were reasonably similar, we're quite minimalist, and didn't even realize at the time let alone think to ask about it.
The room was conveniently close to many touristy things in the city - a short walk to the Park, and just a few blocks from Broadway theaters, and 1-2 blocks to the metro towards south Manhattan. If you stay in this area, definitely check out Don Antonio for a great New York-style pizza, and the Pony Bar for excellent cheap craft brews! (both within 4 short blocks of the apartment).
