Carole was an excellent host and we will definitely be returning! The views were exquisite and we were encouraged to play with all of the farm animals. The cows were so beautiful and very friendly. Carole had the wood stove going for us so it was nice and warm when we arrived. There was plenty of room and all of the materials we needed for cooking. There is a ski mountain a 30 minute drive away and she opened the farm store for us whenever we needed anything!
Carole was friendly and welcoming. The space itself was beautiful and very peaceful. On our last day, we walked around the farm and got to meet all the cows and pigs. We had a blast!
I stayed here with a group of friends for the new years holiday, and I cannot recommend this farmhouse highly enough.
It is very spacious, and you will have a hard time leaving the living room with the log fireplace. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bathrooms were large, the beds were comfortable, and we truly all felt happy and at home.
The farmhouse is at the top of a hill with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. A wonderful benefit of staying here is the multitude of activities the location of the farmhouse on the Miles Smith Farm permits. We loved seeing all the farm animals and decided to do “Cow Riding” and it was hilarious and unforgettable. We also enjoyed the Farm Store from which we bought vegetables, donuts, cinnamon rolls, and several delicious steaks which we grilled to perfection. In the winter skiing (we went to Gunstock) is a mere half-hour away, and there is also snowshoeing and hiking on trails nearby for those who want to explore.
Our host Carole and everyone we met were extremely friendly and eager to both ensure we were having a good stay and answer our questions about the farm. Would love to, and hope to, stay here again.
Matt and friends were a lively bunch that we thoroughly enjoyed and loved hosting. We're happy they enjoyed the stay and hope to have them again in the future.
My girlfriend, Anna, and I decided to spend a short vacation here completely last minute, contacting Carole the night before. She replied within minutes and both her and her husband, Bruce, were great hosts throughout our stay. We had a great experience at Miles Smith Farm. The hot tub and fireplace were the perfect end to a day spent walking to the nearby shaker village or hanging out with the horses (Anna even got a riding lesson!) donkeys and awesome looking Highland cattle. The farm is also a short drive from Concord, where we spent an afternoon wandering into interesting little shops and buying groceries from the co-op to cook in the fully stocked kitchen. A great getaway for those who love animals, hot tubs and friendly folk!
Jeff and Anna were wonderfully quiet and considerate guests. We loved having them stay at our farm.
We had a group of 5 adults stay at this lovely farm house over Thanksgiving weekend - everything was perfect! We arrived two days after a large snowstorm, but found the dirt road to be well-plowed and a cleared-out parking spot waiting for us. Though the power had been disrupted in the area, the farm was luckily running on a generator and we had electricity the whole time. Before we arrived, the host had called to warn us that the internet had gone out, but even this had been restored by the time we got there.
The apartment was spacious and cozy at the same time, and everyone had a comfortable stay. The views from the house were incredible. Though there were 2 TVs (and cable) in the bedrooms, we never had a reason to turn them on. We spent our evenings by the fire, entertained by the selection of old board games we found in the apartment. The proximity to Concord made it very convenient to get groceries, which we supplemented with some delicious fresh meat from the onsite farm store. It was also an easy drive from here to Franconia Notch State Park, where we found plenty of breathtaking scenery and winter things to do outdoors (even though most of us don't ski).
The hosts were as friendly and accommodating as it gets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Miles Smith Farm and hope to return again!
Some friends from college and I went up to stay on Carole's farm for a long weekend. Carole and her husband were very accommodating, and were happy to check us in even though we arrived much later than originally planned. Their farm is beautiful, and very close to an awesome breakfast spot and a cool hiking trail. We made steaks from cows they raise themselves, and they were delicious. (If you're a nerd like we are, the 1981 edition of Trivial Pursuit they have is also a blast). It was a great weekend, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking to get away for a little bit.
What a charming farm atmosphere! We were able to visit with the pigs, see a minor surgical procedure on a cow, see a calf hop around as he tried to adjust to being on a lead for the first time. Angus the bunny spent a little time visiting with us as well. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the beautiful foliage and sunsets. Our hosts were very hospitable and accommodating. Everything was clean, and their response to anything we needed was immediate and friendly. They really wanted us to enjoy ourselves and get the most out of our stay. We did, on both counts!
Thanks for the feedback. You were wonderful guests. Next time you stay with us the trails will be marked and accessible!
Like most of the reviews said, Carole was delightful and a lot of fun. Next time we are in New Hampshire we will surely be staying at their lovely farmhouse. Although the fall nights weren't too cold yet, we still made use of the fire whilst enjoying a bottle of wine.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Carole. La maison est agréable et propre, et l'environnement de la ferme très sympa. Je vous recommande également les produits vendus dans la boutique de Carole, ils sont tout simplement excellents.
Our stay at this place could not have been better. The photos don't do justice for how beautiful the area is, and the living space was even better than advertised. Super comfy and cozy, and Carole was very accommodating. Getting to meet all of the animals was a huge plus! Couldn't recommend this enough, can't wait for our next visit up here so we can stay again.
Carol and Bruce were interesting, courteous and flexible. Perfect guests for our farm life style.
