I'm what most might describe as being a “successful man”. However, the saying, “Behind every successful man is a woman” doesn't reflect the secret of my success. In my case, my wife and partner is beside; rather than behind me.
Over the years I have enjoyed oodles of accolades from Academia, the Air Force and others. However, there is no other title I wear more proudly than that of "Citizen" of a free country.
In addition to those groups currently being mentioned on this site, I also enjoy long-term affiliations within the Aerospace Medical Association as well as Units and individuals who share a past in Strategic Aeromedical Evacuation with the United States Air Force. Collectively they are my extended Flying Family.
I’ve never worked with folks I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Before my recent (May 2010) retirement, my former employers and passions include:
Serving as a key player with the top-tier of academic programs focusing on the business side of live entertainment. Earlier as General Manager of a major symphony orchestra. For over 40 years as a professional photographer (when I get paid (;-)) and a producer of extremely high quality audio recordings, primarily chamber music. Also serving for over 25 years as an Air Force Medic on flying status, while caring for the needs of my Nations' Heroes and Heroines as my patients.
I was raised in an academic environment; then made academia my home for over 30 extremely rewarding years. Currently, when not digitally capturing what I see and hear of interest, or gardening and traveling, I'm back in the classroom - auditing courses, rather than teaching them. I've enjoyed a lifelong love of learning and knowledge for their own sake.
I'm finding my retirement just as rewarding as my work was, also that my weeks are now made up of only Saturdays, but not all of them have college football games (;-)) Although I enjoyed a riotous youth, for the time-being, I’m still in good health.
I've traveled the world extensively earlier in my career and will be looking forward, God willing, to returning to many of the places I've come to know well earlier in life. When I do, I’ll be taking pictures as well as making high quality audio recordings of what I see and hear that to me seems worth sharing, but "your mileage may vary".
So, for those of you with an interest in me, I'll look forward to staying in touch if you'd like. For those without an interest in me and my pranking around, not a problem there either. Enjoy your time just the same and thanks for plowing through my bio (;-))
