Josips Captains House is a real gem. If you need a retreat from the tourist route, head for this place. A 10 star waterfront vista, in a quiet sleepy fishing village, this is the place to have a few nights, get your energy back to tackle more museums, cathedrals, palaces and forts further up the road. Josip is helpful and a good communicator. A great place to chill for a few days. Do your food shopping before you arrive.
Stayed at Captain's House for 2 nights in Sept on our way from Split to Opartija. Vinjerac is a quiet fishing village/town, it is nice to for relaxing , you can walk to some nice coves for swimming (about 15 min walk) the water is clear and the beaches are pebbles. The apartment was clean and comfortable, if the weather is fine it is lovely to sit on the outside patio area and look out over the small marina.
Josip was an excellent host, great communication and offers of assistance if we needed. We really enjoyed our stay in Vinjerac at the Captains House.
We spent a great time in Vinjerac & in the Captain's house. The flat was very comfortable & clean and we were lucky to have a terrasse with a great view on the harbour. Thank you Josip for your availability!
Josip's apartment was exactly what we were after for our relaxed holiday! Vinjerac is a fantastic little town and a great escape. Me & my girlfriend would definitely stay here again if we're ever back in Croatia. Josip is a wonderful host and his mother-in-law even gave us some delicious treats when we left. Josip looked after us very well indeed and it would be a pleasure to see him again in the future.
Nice place in a little bay - good and refreshing to swimm in the sea and a nice place to start of for excursions in the area for ex. Zadar, Pag, the natural reserve of Plitvitze and more...
I stayed at Josips and Danijelas house during 4 warm and windy - the bura! - days in july. I can´t imagine better and more caring hosts! Josip picked me up at the airport at arriving, and Danijela gave me a ride back to Zadar. Some food and drink was wating for me when arriving quite late in the evening. Josip was always at hand ready to answer whatever question I might have.
The apartment was cosy, clean and had a very good location in Vinjerac - the large balcony with direct sea- and harbourview was a perfect place to chill in the evenings.
All in all a perfect stay at a perfect place with perfect hosts.

We had a fantastic time at Josip's apartment. It was incredibly clean and relaxing. Josip is a smart and friendly host -- we really enjoyed visiting with him as he gave us a tour of nearby Zadar. The location was ideal for a day trip to Smiljan (Tesla's birthplace!) and Plitvice Lakes. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks, Josip!
Our stay in Vinjerac was great. The village is adorable and very quiet, perfect to relax. The apartment has an amazing view to the small port. Josip was very welcoming and always available for us. Flat was very clean, recommended!
The apartment is compact but well appointed and very comfortable. The location is just perfect in a delightful setting with the terrace directly overlooking the small harbour. We stayed 3rd to 10th October and enjoyed lovely weather, infact we were brave enough to swim on two hot and sunny days and also visited a couple of National Parks for hiking and sightseeing. In early October the village was very quiet but there is an excellent restaurant that is open until December and is just a short walk away, in addition there is a small shop/market tucked away (almost so that you would not know that it was there), here they stock a basic range of wine beer, bread and cheese. Josip and his family were very friendly and helpful and we felt sure that they were available to help us with anything, Josip even gave us a private tour of Zadar one evening and recommended a very good restaurant. The only sad thing about the holiday was having to come home to cold and rainy England............but then, some things never change!
