I uprooted and moved to Los Angeles in November 2011 from Virginia. I never considered myself Southern. Until I moved to L.A. I reject having a sense of entitlement, and I wish that everyone else would as well. But as I've learned, we can't change anyone else, just the way we react to others.
What are the five things I can't live without? 1. Family and friends. (Yes, that's two, but they seem to be fairly interconnected, don't you think?) 2. The outdoors. 3. Humor. 4. Self-awareness and exploration. 5. Toilet paper. (Self-explanatory).
Travel? Portugal. Vienna, Austria is a close second.
Books? I love everything Garrison Keillor, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "wild" by Cheryl Strayed, and "Brain on Fire."
Movies? "Almost Famous," "I Love You, Man," and "Argo."
Shows? "Breaking Bad" -- no contest.
Music? I'm a huge Zeppelin fan. And Justin Timberlake is my homeboy.
Food? I love naughty things like french fries and milkshakes, but sometimes a really good salad is just what I need to hit the spot.
As a guest, I follow the house rules explicitly and ensure being respectful. I live wholeheartedly by the motto: "Do unto others as you would have them do to you".
