The house is lovely. Well done, great kitchen, bathroom, heating system, etc. You must drive to to town or to buy a quart of milk. The people who run it are very nice although fairly non responsive when it came to having a key that didn't work or the cable system that was out. I was told to fiddle with the key. And the handyman showed me how to fiddle with the key. I shouldn't have to fiddle with a key for 20 minutes each day for 7 days if it doesn't work. I left the house open for most of the time I was there. The same with the cable. Fiddle with the wires. Didn't work. For $200 a night, it wasn't worth it.
Absolutely prefect! I highly recommend this listing. Thank you!
Another wonderful stay at the guest house while we attended Paretn's Weekend at our son's school. Pristine and quiet. The perfect place to come back to after a busy day. Had a lovely dinner outside. There is Public Market in Santa Barbara where you can pick up everything you need for all your meals. The kitchen is fully stocked for laying the table. Such a great alternative to eating out.
The guest house was just as descibed. Immaculate, very private, all modern fixtures and appliances. Bed and bedding supremely comfortable. Maya had everything ready and was accessible for any questions. The neighborhood is off the beaten track and in a light industrial but very quiet area and once through the gates you feel like you are tucked away. It is a sanctuary. But you are also just minutes away from downtown Carpenteria and 15 minutes from Montecito/Santa Barbara and an 8 min run from the beautiful bluffs of Carpinteria. I ran each morning.
Great first Airbnb experience! Lovely little guesthouse tucked in an unexpected location, but very private and quiet. Lovely little patio area and grounds were a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings. House was a great little size for a small family to stay. We traveled with our 4 year-old and she especially enjoyed watching for hummingbirds outside the window. We were impressed with the higher end finishes in the home- although not unexpected based on previous reviewers. We appreciated the bonus of having dimmer switches everywhere. Super handy for a little one in the dark in a strange place. Kitchen and bathroom were nicely equipped with most everything you would need. We timed out trip right to enjoy the Avocado Festival in Carpinteria. A really nice vacation- we would stay here again!
This two bedroomed cottage is an oasis of the finest quality. The garden is magical especially in the dimming light of the afternoon. Sitting outside in the evening for dinner is serene and calming. It is located a few minutes outside the town of Carpinteria, which makes it blissfully quiet at night. The fittings are of the best quality as other reviewers have already commented. This might not be for everyone but I cycled to Rincon Point beach most days. This is one of the best places I have stayed at on the West coast. Thanks Maya!
The guest house in Carpinteria is wonderful. The kitchen and bathroom are more like a true home - high quality and everything you could think of. The property itself is beautifully landscaped and very private. The location feels a bit odd as it's in a commercial area, but it's extremely convenient for traveling around the nearby towns. We would definitely stay there again!
This is a lovely little two bedroom guest house, and I can't say enough good things about it. Comfortable. Easy to live in. Well designed and well constructed with high quality materials throughout.
If you ever put it up for sale, let me know. I would like to buy it.
Although we did not personally meet our host, they left us a very helpful booklet which told of local activities and helpful info about markets, etc. a really lovely touch, and much appreciated, were the cut flowers which greeted us upon our arrival.
Five stars. It's quiet, comfortable, secluded, and feels brand new. The best part is it's only a 5 minute drive to downtown Carpinteria and a 20 minute drive to downtown SB - pretty much the perfect location. It worked out very well for our toddler too, who enjoyed the deck and back yard. The beds were very comfortable and the the kitchen and bathroom are beautiful. Maya was the perfect host and even provided a "things to do" guide with very cool info about nearby beaches, hikes, and a few spots that even Yelp doesn't know about. This is the kind of experience that really makes you question why anybody would choose a traditional hotel.
