Thank you for taking a look at my listing, come and enjoy all the culture and sun LA has to offer.
Mark's spacious home was bright and sunny; the bedroom had a nice comfy bed and blackout curtains, which helped me get over jet-lag. In a tree branch just outside the bedroom window there was a hummingbird's nest, and during my stay two chicks hatched--a nice added bonus! The location is good, just 1 minute from Interstate 5, and in the funky Atwater Village. Parking was no problem. The place itself was spacious, full of amenities and nice thoughtful touches. Mark met me and explained everything carefully, and so there was no need to communicate during my stay--an ideal arrangement. He did respond quickly when a question arose. Good value, pleasant place--I could see moving in for a month or more and feeling right at home!
This was my first experience with airbnb and I highly recommend Mark and this home. I usually book hotels for my business travels, but for my last trip I couldn't find an available hotel close enough to where I needed to be. A friend told me about airbnb.com so I took a chance.
Mark's home was charming, cozy and quite convenient. The home is in a great location that's close to a lot of restaurants and shops and is central to a lot other parts of LA.
Lastly, but most importantly, Mark was an outstanding host. He was kind, accommodating and made us feel right at home. I would most definitely rent from Mark again and recommend his home to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Atwater Village.
Cleanest and best maintained property of all properties rented through Airbnb in this area. The owner will want to meet you in person.
Mark was super responsive and gave clear information and always available for questions during the stay. The location worked out great for 4 couples each having their own rooms. We just needed a place to sleep while visiting Pasadena for the Rose Parade & Bowl festivities. If you plan on cooking, bring your own spices :)
Our stay in California was wonderful. The house was not glamorous, but for a middle class family going on vacation and needing an affordable place to enjoy Christmas it was perfect. Clean, beautiful location, complete with every thing we needed. Everything we wanted to do and see was easily accessible from our location. Our host Mark was perfect in every way.
Mark and his wife were fantastic hosts. He communicated with me from the minute I booked the reservation until I arrived and was checked in and also when I left. They also brought over some emergency supplies to get me started, like teas, etc. The apartment itself met my expectations as it is clean and the neighborhood was lovely. A word of warning to those who care about their bumpers, the home is on a hill and the entrance to the driveway has a sharp lip to it, so you may scrape your bumper pulling into the driveway. Mark was nice enough to provide a parking pass to park on the street, so that's what I did the rest of the time, so I didn't have to worry about my car. (I have a normal sedan, not a sports car, so my car is not particularly low.) It was easy to find parking in the street, just turn your wheels towards the curb. ;)
One thing I did note is that although there are beautiful views and the heat works great, the house is designed with single paned windows, so it did feel a little drafty, when it was cold and the heat was not on, plus there are no fans in the bathroom, but I also tend to run colder than most people. This did not cause a mold issues, etc. The washer and dryer are downstairs behind the house, in a laundry room and worked great. If you're at home, you can sit in the living room and watch the sunset over the hills as it's a gorgeous sight. This was a great stay and I would stay there again in the summer.
We had a wonderful visit at Mark's beautiful home. It is beautifully decorated. More like a home than an apt. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while visiting my daughter and family. Mark met us and showed us around the apt. We will definitely try to stay here again on our next visit to CA.
Busy happening strip of Los Angeles, but the place itself is tucked away and feels very cozy and private. We were close to everything we wanted to see (as much as you can be in sprawling LA), especially Griffith Park. Adult and kid friendly amenities. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, making sure we knew where everything was and that they were available for questions and concerns.
Would stay there again, especially considering the price and more quaint area as compared to a big downtown LA hotel. Now that we have small children, having more space and room to relax and make breakfast in the morning is a must.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We very much enjoyed our stay in his lovely home. The area is very calm and quiet - there were even deer eating the ivy under our bedroom window in the middle of the night. Magical. Mark was a great and responsive host. We will be back next time we come to visit family.
