I'm 29 years old and live/work in Northern NJ. My family and I own the rental property you see listed in the Poconos. My two favorite things to do are snowboard and travel.
"The ultimate weekend in the woods! Think: frozen lake and fire-side samores with all the creature comforts of home next door. This toasty 7-person cabin is nestled among the trees but has great heating, well-stocked kitchen, clean bathroom and consistent hot water (read: 7 of us couldn't use it up!). Not to mention comfy beds, a family size dining table and a lounge room. Equipped with TV, gas fire and arm chairs, the lounge is the perfect respite after a long day of hiking, boating or.... Skiing! Did we mention there's a family-friendly slope just half an hour down the road?! Twilight (email hidden) was a highlight for us and at just $65 incl equipment hire, we couldn't have been happier.
From the bottom of our newly-warmed NY hearts, thanks for an amazing getaway PA."
Steve and Teresa's cabin was exactly what I was looking for! It was perfect for my and my husband's anniversary trip with our dog. They replied to inquires very quickly and were very informative about directions, instructions, and recommendations. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. (All you have to bring are linens and your actual food). We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent this cabin again!
Really awesome accommodations and truly great hosts! Everything you need is there, the scenery is beautiful and the most amazing cider donuts are close by! Would definitely stay there again.
Charming cabin next to the water - Steve replied quickly and we had a great time.
Very cute little cabin by Lake Wallenpaupack. Inside it has exposed wooden beams, which give the place a really nice, rustic interior feel. Kitchen stocked with basic cooking utensils, heaters, TV, DVD. Host very friendly and accommodating. Only thing is that it's not very secluded, it's quite close to other cabins. So as long as you don't mind a few friendly neighbors, I'd recommend this place. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful area. Calm lake and dock. Cabins are rustic outside and quaint inside. Grill, fire pit, picnic table, porch, closet full of board games. Gas fire place inside, but couldn't figure out how to get it started. (Even though there were very nice and detailed how to directions.) FYI, you are sharing the property and lake, as these cabins are in a in a "neighborhood" of cabins relatively close together. If you run cold, bring more blankets, but the electric heat was really effective. I bet this would be great winter spot too. GREAT STAY 2hrs from NYC!
We had a really lovely time at this cabin. Teresa and Steve were quick to communicate with us, helpful with the information they provided, and flexible with arrival and departure times. The cabin is very nice, comfortable and well-appointed. We had a great time and would go back!
Cabin was just as described and Steve was an excellent facilitator so everything ran smoothly. We would suggest checking out the 84 Country store right down the street.
After hurricane sandy and the stress it had left my friends and i, we wanted to get away from nj for a weekend, the place was great! calm and nice and a bit secluded, had a great little fire pit next to the house for the cold night as well as a grill next to it. we had a great time made a lil bit of noise but the neighbors and owners were more than nice and did not complain!
What a lovely place! Who knew Jersey City was so diverse and full of history and yummy eats? We chose Steve's place because it seemed like the best mid-point between NYC and the Jersey Shore (where we attended a wedding). And that it was! Very easily accessible by public transit and ZipCar, totally safe to walk around at night, clean and very pretty. This garden unit also boasts a lovely backyard with a patio set-up perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning before setting out for a busy day. My partner and I loved it and felt totally comfortable in this space. Recommended!
