Brittany was a great hostess! She was super helpful with recommending things to do and places to eat! Our room was clean and cozy. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend her room :)
This place was good for us as we are backpackers on a budget. Nice and close to train station which will take you to San Francisco City but should also be noted that accomodation is within an old house and shared bathroom is attached to the room.
Brittany and Ben were very friendly and also are highly accomodating.
Towels, shampoo and laundry detergent was provided.
Brittany and Ben were excellent hosts – very sweet, helpful and responsive to a small problem I had with a doorknob. They made sure the place was spick-and-span before my visit and provided plenty of clean linens and tips to enjoy the neighborhood. If you have the chance to stay with them, don't pass it up!
Simple and well-located in Piedmont neighborhood, comfortable for 1 or 2 guests but no more. Several restaurants, local and branded coffee houses, plus a variety of bars right down the street. Street parking is RESTRICTED to certain blocks but otherwise not a problem. This is a walk-up so consider that if stairs are difficult for you. After a mild mix-up on our check-in process, Brittany worked diligently to rectify it and applied a small refund for the inconvenience. Following that, our stay was flawless.
Brittany and Benjamin were wonderful hosts- caring, supportive and flexible. Their apartment is in a delightful location with really easy walking access to stores, theatre and parks .
Brittany and Benjamin have a charming studio and were highly accommodating! The Piedmont strip is a really nice part of Oakland with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, bookstores, etc. The apartment is also an easy walk to the MacArthur BART station. Thanks guys!
My meeting with Brittany was very brief, but she impressed me as a nice and warm-hearted hostess. The apt is just as described. The only problem is the ventilation noise from a nearby restaurant, which lasts from 9:30am to 9:30pm. Apart from that, the building and the street are very quiet. There are various restaurants in the neighborhood in addition to grocery store and convenience store. So we had no problem in finding what we want to eat.
Brittany & Benjamin are extremely gracious people. Their apartment is in an ideal location for folks who want easy access to a myriad of local shopping and restaurants. I would caution anyone with physical challenges that there are two steep flights of stairs to the apartment. In addition, parking is sometimes challenging. I will say that despite this area that’s buzzing with people and activity, the nights were extremely peaceful and quiet – I rested well!
Very nice apartment in a great neighborhood, highly recommended!
I took my two high school exchange students down to San Francisco for sightseeing for the weekend. Unfortunately we were short on time, so we didn't get much time to visit with Benjamin when picking up the keys. However, we did arrive a few hours earlier than we had initially planned, and Benjamin was very accommodating with our early arrival (We contacted Benjamin while still several hours away on our drive).
The area between the highway offramp and the street the hosts live on was not real exciting, but the street they live on has been gentrified and has some great shops and restaurants.
The apartment was just as advertised and was clean and neat and was in a historic building with a lot of charm. The living room was plenty of space for three of us and certainly could have accommodated an additional person on the bed. One of us slept on the bed, one on the couch, and one on a foam mattress on the floor. The wifi was very nice for me and my teenagers. There was some neighborhood noise pretty late in the evening on Saturday night (a nearby bar or just nearby houses?), but we didn't notice it on Sunday night, and we were pretty tired from a day of travelling Saturday, so we went right to sleep.
The bathroom was clean and had plenty of space. All fixtures worked well. Quality linens were nice and clean.
The kitchen looked nice, but we really didn't spend any time in the kitchen or breakfast nook as we were too busy sightseeing and ate all of our meals out.
This was our first experience with airbnb, and we were very pleased. We'll definitely do it again, and if we're in the Bay Area in the future, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Brittany and Benjamin's.
Brittany and Ben are two incredibly generous and thoughtful hosts who can provide you not only with a nice, friendly, clean place to stay, but also with intelligent and moving conversation. Both have lived in the Bay area for quite some time, and are well-familiarized with its history and with what it has to offer visitors. A kinder pair you will rarely meet.
